I visited for my nephew's basketball tournaments and really enjoyed the facilities, the indoor gym is small but comfortable. The community center is fantastic: clean, modern, and comfortable with great restrooms. It's more of a neighborhood park than a destination, really. The rocks on the hill tops (twin peaks) are covered in heavy layers of paint to mask graffiti and the fresh graffiti defeating the periodic efforts to suppress it. Sad, but true. Who's this small park for? Great for dogs. First, there's a small parking lot on the opposite side of the hill when viewed from the south or driving on California Street. The ungroomed trails also beg for riding BMX or mountain bikes. Basic equipment, though, nothing terribly challenging except the steep climb on the SE corner. It was worth visiting to rule it out, but the .74 miles on my Strava app revealed its low value for time and distance.

Also, with every breath I took the air felt impossibly fresh and crisp! My dream is that the entire Inland Empire strives to become the world's most beauiful botanical gardens and where her communities vye for top prizes from the American Public Gardens Association...ahhh, wouldn't that be lovely? Park is located between Chestnut St and Market St. It is not huge, but a good medium size park. It has plenty of big green trees which is a nice offering of great shade. Benches are placed throughout the park. You may take a stroll on its many windy walking paths. Its surrounding grass areas are quite lush and green. Landscape with exotic plants and flowers was quite elegant and exquisite. There's a charming gazebo in the heart of the park. This park also holds special events or festivals with vendors, food, music, arts & crafts, etc. Please note this park may be closed when there are bigger events taking place in downtown. Definitely a lovely park with relaxation and scenic views in mind for all locals and visitors to enjoy!

Anywho, I seen the gate driving by on the way to an appointment. Had an hour to kill so off to the closest Starbucks for a cold drink and back to the park to lounge for a bit. The main entrance was what caught my attention. A cute archway that welcomes you to a very cute park. Almost like something you would see on a movie set. There's street parking out front which is paid with the metered. I ended finding some residential parking on the end of the park side as there was shaded parts. Front had full parking available but it was full sun. Anyways, I found out that there was no other entrance beside the main one in-front. Had to walk from the back but it was fine, a nice little walk along the side streets which barely any cars drove through. Once you walk through the gate which had a nice rose garden in-front, you're greeted with a water fountain that is very picturesque. It's somewhat the focal point when you walk in but behind it is the gazebo. It's a cute park that's not big but big enough. Plenty of benches along the path. On one side is a cute little Japanese style garden minus any ponds. Don't think your allowed to walk through as it's more of a garden feature. Plenty of nice big trees with shades for lounging with a blanket. Theres no play ground as it's more of a community garden but very well kept. A cute little oasis in the heart of town. Worth a nice little lounging under the trees.

There is no kids playground here. If you're looking, head down the street to Hunt Park. We came here for Summerfest, a free community event hosted by the (awesome) City Parks and Rec Dept. It was nice and well organized, lots of freebies, kid crafts, and free BBQ lunch. We went through the kids obstacle course & got splashed, which was appreciated on a hot day, then walked around picking up flyers & info about community resources. My favorite part was getting squirted by the fireman's hose. That's what she said. Today's maturity level: Michael Scott. Anyhow, after walking around in 95 degree weather I enjoyed relaxing under a shady tree and people watching. Probably won't be back for lack of a playground, but still an enjoyable place to have spent an afternoon. Yipeeeee for free fun!!!
