Today is 2/13/2026 and my girlfriend and I went into this Lovers location around 8:15pm. I was extremely surprised that no employee came to us and asked if we needed assistance or had questions. There was an Asian couple not to far from us that were asked if they needed help or had questions. I finally flagged an employee down after 3 passed us by without even a smile. The employee was a short young lady with glasses, did not smile at us just proceeded to open the products I asked her to open. I liked the item and decided to take it. An employee returned from break and the same young lady that helped us smiled and greeted her as she returned from her break. But for us not a smile. The young man that checked us out at the register again no smile. My girlfriend made a small comment and we laughed thinking maybe he would crack a smile but no. It seemed very unusual to not be helped nor have friendly service as I frequently visit the Lovers stores. This was my first time at the Brea location as my girlfriend and I had dined out for galentines. This visit really put me out of the mood to purchase anything more from the store. I would strongly suggest to have all the employees have a lesson in customer service since customer service is to serve customers. I'm not saying you have to follow me around and hold my hand but a welcoming smile is nice and asking every customer if they need help or have questions is mandatory in my eyes as a customer especially that I did have questions. The value of the product was a great deal so I am happy with my purchase just not my experience at this location. read more

This is usually our go to store but this time we went in and from the very start the employees were all behind the counter and the very tall one was complaining about their job, and was just being very loud and negative. We almost walked out! The whole time we were there only one very sweet and nice gentleman came to help us. If it's OK for employees to speak this way while customers are in the store i think we will be finding another store. read more

The ladies working at Lovers were so nice and helpful! I was immediately approached when I entered the store and asked if I needed help, what I had in mind and I was pointed to the section I needed. The lady who helped me (who's name is escaping me) was so helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I later went to another part of the store and was helped by another associate when my first one was busy and was greeted with the same helpfulness. The store itself is very clean and has a wide variety of merchandise for your every need! The dressing rooms were a bit dark, but it kinda gave you the idea of what their clothing would look like while on and in "mood" lighting lol. They have a free membership you can join too to get $5 off your next purchase so that's as cool. The toys all have long warranties so I don't know if I'll need to come back anytime soon, but I totally would if the desire ever rises! May I just say that the entire staff is so friendly and helpful. Don't be shy ask questions because 90% of the time they have the answers. Looooveeee this place. They have a wide range of lingerie options as well as sex toys selection. I got a few of mine here and they have held up pretty well. They also have a great rewards system and also sometimes would have fun classes. Pre-pandemic I went to one of their BDSM classes and it was awesome! This place has got everything you need and the workers make you feel very comfortable with asking questions. It's easy to feel awkward if you're a little more reserved about your sexuality and the workers respect that. The variety of products available here had me shook. There were so many options and a variety of things including toys and lingerie. They claim to be pricier with the toy cleaners and lube because the quality is better and safer for use. I've gone here plenty of times, loved the experience with all the workers. today i stopped in with my boyfriend. one girl greeted us politely and then another worker ( tall, blonde, short hair ) asked us for our ID which is understandable because you have to be 18 to enter and shop there, we're 20 and 21, didn't mind it all because we do look a little younger than our age lol. we did our shopping around, many more people come in the store, she's greeting them but not asking for their ID and at first i didn't care i was just telling myself maybe it's because we look a little younger than our age. then enters a boy that i know personally, he's 17, didn't ask him for his ID as he buys multiple things and she starts small talk with him as she flirts with him lmao disgusting. read more

I just went a couple of days ago to get something but the next day I noticed that didn't work for me, to be honest I didn't even use it, I just opened it so I come back to the store the next day. But I didn't know that you cannot return an item. One of the girls told me doesn't matter if don't even use it, once you open up the item you are not able to return it because company policy. read more

I walked into A Touch of Romance with my best friend. We looked around and asked questions about various items. I was greeted by Michelle (Store Manager), and interacted with Sarah (Assistant Manager). I noticed while in there we were being watched by this "butch lesbian looking woman" not sure of her name, but I believe this is an accurate description. I'm not one to pull the "Black" card, but I'm a Black woman living in Orange County this happens often. I paid it no attention and went on about my day. We ended up not getting anything just looked around and priced items. We walked out to the car and as we were getting ready to pull out-- the butch looking lesbian walked up to my car. I rolled down the window and she said "I just want to know, the purple womanizer you were looking at, did you put it back on the shelf or did you just take it". I was surprised and in disbelief. She then called Sarah out and asked if they found the womanizer. Sarah stated "no it's okay we'll find it". I told Sarah they will I would never steal from them. I drove off shaking trying to gather my thoughts. I got home about five minutes later and called the store. I spoke to Sarah, who passed the phone to Michelle and had an extremely pleasant conversation. She was extremely apologetic and told me the girl who approached us was in training. I broke down the sequence of events and let her know I never had a purple womanizer in my hand it was pink. Not only that the behavior displayed was not okay. I'm 27, educated, successful, and would not risk it all for 200 dollars. Her customer service, empathy, and professionalism set the bar. I was in tears on the phone with her, because sadly being Black in certain areas ruffles feathers. I've never been falsely accused/approached in that manner. This review wasn't written in attempt to get a hand out. It was to give a heads up to other people of color, and to commend management for the customer service.
