They did NOT do anything like I requested aside from the flavor of the cake. I wanted red icing, black trim with gold sprinkles and a Michael Jackson image with his Billy Jean performance outfit (glittery black) the employee did not have any additional questions and sounded like they were taking good notes. Well, not only was the cake not ready when they said it would be. They still had to decorate it after arriving an hour and a half after they said it would be ready. Now, they originally said they weren't open on Sunday but my mom did not have space for the cake in her fridge overnight and the event was on Sunday. They agreed to just have it ready for us to pick up on Sunday no later than 9am. Tell me why no one was available at that time, showed up hella late and then made us wait to decorate the cake incorrectly. It looks like we're having a damn baptism for Michael Jackson instead of having a cool birthday party for my 10 year old son. Wtf. A cake from Walmart would have been better. Save yourself the headache and order from a business who actually listens and cares

She was always on top of my questions and requests, never did she leave me unanswered. I reached out to several places about a vintage heart cake, she said she was available and I sealed the deal w her price point which was very fair. I was also looking for another cake, a 2-tiered mermaid cake but the time was going to be strained. I sent her a picture of an inspo cake, she accepted my order for the second cake and it was amazing! She sent me finished pics but in person even more gorgeous. It was packaged well and it transported smoothly. The taste was also amazing, everything was made from scratch, it was so delicious. I received so many compliments on the visual and taste. The cookies and cream cake was popular at the party, everyone loved the cookies and cream.

She has such a huge heart and love for baking. It's a family run business so everything they make it with lots of love and care. Everything we have purchased has been 100% delicioso. She also does homemade lemonade in several flavors. Right now their business did Tuesday thru Sunday and closed on Mondays. The types of bread they make are Mexican style pastries, but they also make brownies, special donuts, cookies and croissants. I use to believe La Plaza bakery had the best bolios in the south county, but these bolios give them a run for their money. SO SOFT in the inside and crunchy on the outside. 100% recommend this place to everyone in Soledad and anyone looking for a sweet treat. They also have a coffee bar to pair with your treats

To be clear, yes, they sell donuts, but no, they do not sell ice cream; and, furthermore, it feels as though the donuts only exist because of the lottery tickets and scratchers that they sell as those have a better selection than donuts. That said, I did purchase a donut from their meager selection in the afternoon. Not sure if that selection was limited by the time of day, or simply reflects all that they have but the donut was decent, I believe it was called a cinnamon crunch, but the remaining selection of donuts were a small collection of cake and old-fashioned. Still not sure why ice cream is listed in the name as the sign outside the business does not reflect that either. I went to purchase my donut only to learn that they only accept credit cards for purchases over three dollars. Good to know my donut was under three dollars, disappointing if you fail to bring cash they have a decent sized sitting area in the back behind the lottery section. Ironically, I feel as though it is more generous than the area used to sell their tickets and donuts, the attendant was neither nor cordial. Experience was less than memorable. The only reason I chose to do a review to help others avoid a similar disappointment. My final advice, walk across the street buy some box donuts from Grocery Outlet and you'll be similarly pleased.

One of my go-to stops lately while at the farmers market in downtown Monterey has been Noe's…read moreChurros. I'm quite a sucker for churros--after all, they're basically donuts in stick form and how can you go wrong with that?!?! Noe's churros are the perfect consistency--not too hard and not too soft. They've got a nice dusting of cinnamon and sugar. Personally, I'd like more cinnamon, but I put gallons of cinnamon, no joke, in my coffee and pastries, so I'm not the best judge of cinnamon to sugar ratios because I can always go for more cinnamon. The churros are one for $1.50 or four for $5. My friend I always opt for the set of four and split these ribbed delicacies. (Wow--that didn't sound right, did it?) Noe's booth also sells snow cones and homemade, Mexican-style potato chips. Yeah, it's a weird mix--I guess all your childhood guilty food pleasures under one roof? I've never had the chips, but the snow cone I had during the heat wave this past summer was mighty refreshing. It's definitely a great spot to grab a quick snack--sweet or savory--to munch on while strolling up and down farmers market. I'm not sure if Noe's Salinas address is just a kitchen or an actual store, but you can find this vendor at both the Monterey farmers market on Alvarado on Tuesday's and the Marina farmers market on Sundays.
