I showed her the desired look I wanted for my wedding. She assured me that she had experience with mature skin along with 14 years in makeup artistry. Mercy charges $500 for wedding makeup. I paid $330 for her deposit. The day I had a makeup trial she was 45 minutes late. I left the trial very disappointed. The makeup was nothing like I desired for my wedding day. It was extremely thick and cracking. I even had a chunk of makeup fall out of the corner of my eye. I went straight home and washed my face, I was so disappointed. The next day I sent Mercy a text asking for another trial. I told her I felt the look was too harsh for my liking. It took her 7 days to get back to me. She stated she wanted me to get a spray tan prior to my next trial. I thought all makeup artists can match skin tone and a spray tan isn't going to change the application but, I agreed. I asked for another appointment. Seven days later I still had not heard back from Mercy. I was becoming very stressed because my wedding is fast approaching. I just want to look and feel confident on my wedding day. I decided to cancel my contract with Mercy. I sent her a text to cancel and within 15 minutes she responded and was happy to let me know my deposit was non refundable. I highly advice any other brides or ladies looking for a makeup artist to do a trial before signing a contract. Especially with a business person that doesn't honor and respect the happiness of their clients.
