Formerly Sushi Joe's (but had never come here before). You might drive past it thinking it's an older house or roadside motel but you'd be mistaken and super sad to miss out on this place! Spacious inside with a variety of seating! Clean and bright (despite the torrential hailstorm and water leaking in through the doorjam/roof - think monster storm!). The staff quickly mopped up water, put ip a wet floor sign, and didn't miss a beat. Our kids ordered the beef teriyaki and loved the flavours but we're admittedly disappointed there wasn't more beef on the platters. I loved the veggies served underneath and the fish also came with a small bowl of white rice with sesame seeds on top. Both kids noted that they wished there was more sauce or a side of sauce to have on the rice and I think this would be a good addition. Hubs and I shared tempura Udon (excellent - broth was perfection), TNT (not spicy despite the description but still yummy), and paradise roll (love the mango/smoked salmon combo). It was our daughter's birthday so we celebrated with deep fried banana and ice cream - it was delicious but I was surprised to find out it was $10.95 when the bill came. I didn't see desserts listed anywhere on the menu for pricing. We would absolutely come here again!

One of the best meals I've ever had, anywhere, in 30 years. Everything was super-fresh, perfectly…read moreprepared and the selection was excellent. My friend and I started with crisp house salad with Japanese vinagraitte, a lovely potato fritter and agadashi tofu, which was perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. For the main course I had the tuna tataki, and a salmon combo (I was hungry!) and my friend sampled various interesting types of sushi (one had mango, cucumber and shrimp, I think) and the miso soup. Everything was flavorful, fresh and even the pieces of carrot were cut into cute shapes. I would have expected much higher prices for the level of sophistication in these dishes. For dessert we enjoyed a beautifully-cut selection of fresh fruit. As they are a new restaurant they are taking suggestions to add to their menu, so we suggested ice cream in Coconut and Mango as a nice accompaniment. The service was excellent, the young waitress was cheerful and knowledgeable and told us the middle-aged couple who prepared and brought the food were the owners. It's nice to see a family working so well together. I learned that although this restaurant was new, the owners had many years of experience in the restaurant industry, which certainly showed. This is the kind of place we need to support, a well-run local establishment that takes pride in a job well done. I spent about $45 and had leftovers to take home, which were still fresh when I ate them the next day. Overall, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I'd recommend it for date nights, celebrations or just when it's time to treat yourself. Enjoy!
