Small restaurant with even a smaller grocery area. It has baked goods and local items (like honey)…read moreavailable in front end of restaurant if wanted something quick to go. Perfect roadside stop for those camping during wetter days or on a rural Alberta travels. We stopped here after packing up from camping for brunch. Basic grill items (my cousin really loved her fish burger) and a huge variety of hearty breakfast options. I went with my classic choice Eggs Benedict with potatoes chunks (there was an option for shredded). Decent size of meal but nothing spectacular about the breakfast. Looking for simply solid food, this is the place to go in this part of Alberta. Next door is a flea market of sorts (only noticed it as I was driving away but that could be fun to check out first and then go for food afterwards before heading back to camping). I appreciated the ramp along the side of the building as the stairs up were really tough on my knees. Lovely staff and calm atmosphere within the restaurant. I'm sure I'll be back again when we go camping next year.

A small little cafe just off the intersection of the A-12 (on your way to Stettler) and the 835 (which leads to Buffalo Lake), the grill is a nice rest and good food. On my visit today, I tried the Erskine Burger, which is a 6oz patty overwhelmed with mushrooms, cheese and gravy. And it was excellent. The patty was perfectly cooked, homestyle, not a frozen thing smashed into tastelessness. The patty was juicy, flavorful and cooked right. The mushrooms held into the melted cheese were great and the layer of gravy made it a real Canadian treat! The dining area is small but can fit a crowd of about 20. The staff is very kind and answered our questions and explained everything. Prices were very reasonable and we had lunch on a budget of about 28 for two people which is very good these days. I will definitely be back. If you have a chance to visit the Erskine Grill, I strongly encourage to do so. Happy travels, and happy eating!

Lokal Kitchen Express - Bulgogi Truffle Alfredo Pasta

Amazing Korean food inside a local gas station! Super friendly staff! Crazy location - it's inside…read moreof a gas station, so you can shop for sundries or get gas while you wait for your food! There aren't any tables or chairs but you can take your order and eat outside in your car. We stopped into Lokal Kitchen Express on the way from Edmonton to Calgary. It's halfway between the two. The quality of the food (especially the beef, of course, which is what the region is known for) and the flavor combinations are gonna have me dreaming of this place until we return. In talking to the counter person, we found out that the restaurant has been open for three years. She also told us we need to return to try their KFC chicken, which we will most definitely do on our return to Edmonton. The sweet garlic Parmesan fries were addictive: slightly sticky sweet (but not too sweet - just enough to make you want to eat another bite), wonderfully garlicky, and perfectly Parmesan flavored. The bulgogi pasta was well done: nicely al dente and well seasoned. The truffle flavor was a bit mild for my taste but the overall flavor was still delicious. I don't know WHAT is in the salad dressing (did I get a hint of Asian pear?) but it was so refreshing and different from any dressing I've had before. Plus the salad greens, julienned beets, and radishes were super fresh. This is not your average gas station food. If you're ever in the area, please give this place a try! Parking is easy and the gas station is not too far off the highway.

I was at Koryo today with my family and I was shocked at how rude and unprofessional the cook was…read more I ordered two short ribs combo and on one of them, the meat was burnt too much for my liking. I removed the rice and sides (because nothing was wrong with them) and I asked if he could replace the burnt meat with new ones. Not only did he say no, but he started telling me I don't know anything and that he's been cooking like that for ten years (a quick look at the menu picture would prove him wrong). I told him meat shouldn't be this burnt and it was probably caused by not cleaning the grill. Plus, burnt meat is really not good for you and I couldn't give that to my children. That's when he exploded with anger and started yelling at the top of his lungs. He threw my plate back to me and told me to go away. Not only that, he was waving the utensils in the air like a madman and I was a little concerned for my safety. At that point I realized it was no use talking to him. I couldn't believe a person such as him who is so rude to the customers is in business. I have never experienced that kind of service from a dining establishment in my life. Just to be clear, Koryo was one of our favourite places in the mall. We went there every time we went shopping. We think the sauce and potato sides are delicious. We will continue going to Koryo at other malls for sure. We just have a problem with the person working at one of their establishments. I'm assuming he may be the owner too because I don't think any employee in his or her right mind would yell at a customer with that much rage over a few pieces of burnt meat. We will not go there again as long as he is there. Thank you for your time.
