I buy all of my silver rings from here and I've sent countless people over the years. Two weeks ago I bought a ring I had my eye on for about 2 months. A supposedly silver ring with cubic zerconia stones and a big amethyst. It was perfect and after tax, it came to $64.08. After two weeks, I could see it wasn't silver but copper and began turning my finger green. On my day off, I returned ro ask the owner if I could pick out another ring or get around refund. After refusing to give me a refund, he told me to pick out another ring. I did and then he proceeded to tell there was a $6 difference. I told him this was the only one I liked and he told me to bad. He then called the cops on my family and proceeded to say we were harassing him and trying to steal from him! SHAME ON YOU!!!! Your stink over $6 is going to cost you a lot of future business and I will NEVER COME BACK! Which is so sad because I live in the neighborhood and try to support all the businesses on Haight St.

It's not a direct replacement as this is a more curated shop owned by Robert Emmons, who owns a similar operation in Haight Ashbury. It makes total sense to me because both are iconic neighborhoods with colorful, merchandisable histories. The Welcome Castro store is not just rainbow paraphernalia but more crafted souvenirs, art pieces and even fine foods from various LGBTQ communities. It was particularly festive during the holidays as they sold a robust stock of gay-themed ornaments. The store also serves as an information hub for the neighborhood's history and noteworthy sights.
