Where have I been In…read moreand out. Of the best restaurant in Plattsburgh. It's a shame really. The bar and the drinks selection. I can only BLAME LAURA. Still slinging the most enticing drinks in town. SHES THE WORST!!! and my beautiful friend had the Open sesame salad with the buttermilk chicken (she says perfectly dressed) - to die for - I tell you truth. Meanwhile I had the off menu special The Ribeye steak (with scallops on top. Off menu surf and turf special. Perfect steak (rare) And perfect scallops. I might disagree But my friend is in love. Probably with the chef - oh well.

After checking numerous reviews and website menus, It appeared to me that Twisted Carrot was one of…read morethe most interesting restaurants in the area, in terms of menu and atmosphere. My dinner experience there certainly lived up to expectations. The restaurant is small, seating maybe about 30 people. I wouldn't call it intimate, but I would call it friendly. The menu items are enjoyably named, with some interesting ingredient and flavor combinations. Service is fast and friendly; 3 servers can take care of all the tables quite nicely, with time for fun conversation as you go. The cocktail list is small, and the drinks are simply garnished, but everything we tried was quite flavorful and reasonably priced. As an appetizer, the Moo Moo Dippers, filled with shaved ribeye and corned beef and combined with the remoulade sauce for dipping. were addicting. My salmon filet came atop a bed of roasted sweet potato and corn hash and a sauce on top to give it more interesting presentation and flavor. The pork medallions were similarly appealing. We passed on dessert, because most of the offerings had some form of caffeine in them (e.g., boozy affogato), but I'm certain they would have been equally delicious. I was surprised the restaurant closed so early on days they're actually open, i.e., 8pm. So if you want convenient dining, get there early for dinner, because it does fill up.

I came back into town for a few days and stopped by to get some food for my trip and noticed they had a cafe serving sammie's and smoothies and had to try one. They were all dedicated GF which was so amazing since I have celiac disease and it's really hard to find good freshly prepared food without risking cross contact & getting sick. I got the avocado toast sandwich and it was AMAZING! Also grabbed a matcha latte & pumpkin pie on my way out which both hit the spot. Hailey the owner (I hope i spelled that correctly) was the sweetest and I had a great conversation with her about nutrition. The co-op itself has so many gluten free, vegan, organic and locally sourced food options to buy in bulk or by the package. I love the environment they create here and the workers are always so friendly and helpful. They also have a section of pre-made food (most of which is vegan) and it all looks freshly made and delightful! The co-op is definitely one of the only places around here that i miss on the daily basis :,) Definitely recommend stopping by!

I was excited to try this place with the reviews but was a little apprehensive when we pulled up - small strip mall that has seen better days but we were hungry and figured we would give it a shot. The interior is cute -- but small. Not many tables but thankfully we were on the early side for dinner so only one other table was occupied when we arrived. We quickly decided what we wanted to eat and placed our order. Our salads came out fast and they were very delicious. I am a sucker for black olives so was thrilled to see them on the salad. I noticed that the other table (a couple) were still waiting for their meal and it showed up a short time later. A few more tables were seated and we were still waiting for our meal. It became evident that there was one server and one cook. When our meal showed up, we were not disappointed. The sauce on my chicken parm was savory with just a hint of sweetness. And it had chunks of tomatoes in it - huge plus for this tomato loving gal! I don't know where they got this chicken breast but it was huge! It was very well seasoned and probably one of the best chicken parms I've ever had in my life! For dessert, my hubby decided to get the cannoli dip. I'm bummed that I cannot eat dairy cuz that dessert was massive! My husband barely put a dent in it and took the rest home for a snack later on that evening. We would definitely come back again if we are in the area!

We ordered a large salad that came with bread and butter. Very soft fluffy Italian bread. The spaghetti with meat sauce ease was quite a lot of meat sauce. Very generous with meat and sausage meat. One of us ordered a side of meatballs and those were quite large. The chicken parmigiana was tender. And also smoke. Everything was reasonably priced and we all needed a doggy gag. Service was friendly and prompt. We will need to come back again.

Delicious subs - good enough to make the trip from Montreal! We regularly come to the US for…read moreshopping and have had Jersey Mike's at the Williston, Vermont location several times. I heard these might be the same owners? Both locations offer great service and food. Location wise - this is close to the Walmart so perfectly on the way and accessible for anyone in the area. Parking is a bit tight and the restaurant itself is very small. There are maybe only 10 or so places to sit down and eat. I would recommend ordering to go - either through the app or online. We placed an order online on Saturday April 20th around 1PM and since they were swamped, the estimate for pick up was an hour later. Since they have opened this month, Jersey Mike's has been super popular so huge lines and a longer wait time are normal. They are working at full capacity though there's an army of employees ready to serve. Don't come in if you are in a rush - wait a few more weeks for the hype to settle down. I love that even through the app or online you can customize your sandwich and add your own personal note, for example if you want any sauces or extra things on the side. If this is your first time, I recommend getting an italian style sub, such as the number 5 or 13 and ask for "Mike's Way", this is the oil and vinegar dressing and italian seasoning. There are many other options to add. If you are in the mood for a hot sandwich, the philly cheesesteaks are amazing! These actually are good cold too. We ordered a "giant" size which is about 15 inches and saved some leftover for the next day and it was still yummy. Can't really go wrong with a sandwich especially if you decide what goes in it, but contrary to subway I like the fixed menu, it takes some guesswork out of what you're getting and the quantity of meats and toppings is a lot more generous. I would eat these every day if I could. A must try!

It also didn't appear that close to anywhere else to go to get something to eat. Mike Deli's sad wraps started at $9.99 and other basic premade sandwiches were $11.99 and $13.99. Seriously! Rip off! Every thing was overpriced! Being Boar's Head meat given what was on those wraps and sandwiches doesn't justify the prices. (And clearly it ain't a Jersey Mike!) Fortunately, I had brought my own food, not expecting to be sitting at any dump like this for an extended period of time. Wish the bus just continued so I could get home earlier. Plattsburgh needs one of those world-class Wawas here, if the bus need a place to stop or for locals to see what a great gas station sandwich place is!
