I love little bookstores. This one is charming. It's in a very small house and they have everything…read morearranged. Just so. There is a good amount of kids books, and large print which I love. They do have a lot of incoming items every week so I encourage everyone to go back frequently. The folks there are helpful and will hand you a basket and help you bring your books to the front when you are ready to check out. This is not a chain bookstore and I encourage everyone to frequent this local business.

The décor is remarkable - it's clear that the owners were very intentional about making the space feel like art, but also welcoming. Bold colors with lots of windows for natural light, and thoughtfully curated mini spaces throughout the café really make you feel like you're escaping the outside world while letting the sun shine in. And the food - scrumptious. The tomato bisque soup is made fresh onsite and from scratch, and is so delightful. i also have enjoyed their salads and teas. Basically - get thee to The Book Cellar. It's a great spot for catching up with a good friend, reading a new (or old) book, eating yummy food while lounging, and essentially giving yourself a few moments of calm in a space that feels like it was curated for your nervous system. 10/10 recommend.

Years ago they were located across the street, but the man (owner?) at the desk confirmed it was the same store. They did not have the book I wanted, but it was painful to have to leave the place without pursuing the shelves. .If you are a book buyer and are in the area, allow some time to check out this shop. It is well organized and well-lit. A thrift store and handsome household consignment shop are in the same plaza. I will stop at Wall of Books in October and will allow myself time on the next trip to make purchases.

Overall the layout makes sense and it's easier for me to bring the kids here than pay full price at B&N down the street and the experience is pretty comparable. I also like that you can call them and ask that they hold a book for you- great for Moms running low on time who need to get a book for their kids school project or required reading (speaking from experience here). The only con I will mention is what others have mentioned as well. Don't come here with books to sell assuming you'll get a lot of money for them. Come here with the books you were going to donate anyways. I do wish they had a better trade in program.

They do take in used books, which my partner has been able to capitalize on for a rare manga he's trying to collect all the volumes for. They're section for social sciences though SUCK. I'd say Barnes and Noble and Bookshop.org still come out on top. It feels they barely have a section for history and science even. Plenty of space for Christians though... new age books and items are up front in this side obscure area near the cafe like they are trying to hide it. Plenty of toys and novelty items and games to look at. Funko pops (which I look at). It feels like FYE fused with what was left of a bookstore and just was like "we must do this to survive" energy. Never my first choice, but glad to have a choice... in the mall at least. Also they have vinyls and you can order books from them, but I'd suggest just going to Bookshop.org at that point

They have everything section & even a bargain area where I found a great book of MLB Stadiums for a gift. Friendly staff who know right where to find what you need. Don't be shy, ask- they actually get excited to walk you around. The store is way bigger than you think! Prices are reasonable & they keep the store as clean as possible. Spent a day in Athens while on a roadtrip recently and as always, I have to check out a local…read morerecord shop. Low Yo Yo is a brief walk away from the historic 40 Watt Club and near plenty of dining and drinking choices. While a relatively small store, it's packed wall to wall with a lot of records! I was particularly impressed by the great selection of catalogue titles they have--I always have a running list of records I'm looking for and often these are not present in my local shops. Many, if not most, of what I looked for WAS present here. Often a new title, shrinkwrapped and priced accordingly--but fairly/within market range. They did have some original pressings and used items, but overall their used items seem to be vastly outranked by their new items. However, I can't quite be sure of that as beyond the row of newly arrived used items all others are filed with their new counterparts. I like the overall organization of this store--by genre, by artist, and often within an artist's section all of the solo and sideprojects of a group are present and accounted for. There's also a pretty sweet local artists section (including REM) near the register. Friendly service, cool shop, would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.
