Then said yes I think we might have that book. She asked the gentleman at the check out area - and he seemed upset - said we don't carry any books by that author. It seemed like there is sone huge censorship or dislike for certain authors at this store. It made me feel very uncomfortable. The other side of the store is now selling honey, oils , different teas etc. My son tried the whipped honey and fell in love with it, and I bought a bottle of thar honey. Overall, I think it's a decent book store but you might not find certain authors, not sure what basis they are doing different censorship.

The décor is remarkable - it's clear that the owners were very intentional about making the space feel like art, but also welcoming. Bold colors with lots of windows for natural light, and thoughtfully curated mini spaces throughout the café really make you feel like you're escaping the outside world while letting the sun shine in. And the food - scrumptious. The tomato bisque soup is made fresh onsite and from scratch, and is so delightful. i also have enjoyed their salads and teas. Basically - get thee to The Book Cellar. It's a great spot for catching up with a good friend, reading a new (or old) book, eating yummy food while lounging, and essentially giving yourself a few moments of calm in a space that feels like it was curated for your nervous system. 10/10 recommend.

They do take in used books, which my partner has been able to capitalize on for a rare manga he's trying to collect all the volumes for. They're section for social sciences though SUCK. I'd say Barnes and Noble and Bookshop.org still come out on top. It feels they barely have a section for history and science even. Plenty of space for Christians though... new age books and items are up front in this side obscure area near the cafe like they are trying to hide it. Plenty of toys and novelty items and games to look at. Funko pops (which I look at). It feels like FYE fused with what was left of a bookstore and just was like "we must do this to survive" energy. Never my first choice, but glad to have a choice... in the mall at least. Also they have vinyls and you can order books from them, but I'd suggest just going to Bookshop.org at that point

Spent a day in Athens while on a roadtrip recently and as always, I have to check out a local…read morerecord shop. Low Yo Yo is a brief walk away from the historic 40 Watt Club and near plenty of dining and drinking choices. While a relatively small store, it's packed wall to wall with a lot of records! I was particularly impressed by the great selection of catalogue titles they have--I always have a running list of records I'm looking for and often these are not present in my local shops. Many, if not most, of what I looked for WAS present here. Often a new title, shrinkwrapped and priced accordingly--but fairly/within market range. They did have some original pressings and used items, but overall their used items seem to be vastly outranked by their new items. However, I can't quite be sure of that as beyond the row of newly arrived used items all others are filed with their new counterparts. I like the overall organization of this store--by genre, by artist, and often within an artist's section all of the solo and sideprojects of a group are present and accounted for. There's also a pretty sweet local artists section (including REM) near the register. Friendly service, cool shop, would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.
