Wow. The difference a year can make. I've been here multiple times over the past year and each time the service keeps getting worse, the food goes down hill and the wait staff just seems to have checked out. Yesterday was the last straw... I arrived at 4:30 and there was only two other people in the place. The waiter didn't even leave behind the counter and just stood there staring at me as I walked in. I took a seat and he took his sweet time coming over to me. Asked If I wanted any beer or wine but not if I wanted any other drinks. I told him I wanted an Iced Tea. He proceeded to go clear off a table, stand around, talk on the phone, go to the back room, continue clearing off the table, seat another group. But no tea or water. Over 15 minutes until he came back to my table to ask if I was ready to order. But still nothing to drink. I placed my order. All while he was just standing there with no interaction. He then went back to the back, talked on the phone, etc. Finally he brought the other table their waters that I flagged him down and he brought my tea. The student chef is a slob and should not be out where people can see him or should at least clean up to be professional and presentable looking. The owner is a nice guy, but needs to stop sitting with his "buddies" and run the place. My food came, my glass was empty but he didn't refill it. While I ate, the waiter never once came back to my table to ask how things were, if I wanted anything else. Etc. I finally got sick of waiting and just went up to the counter to pay. I won't be going back after this last experience here. Very sad as the quality of food used to be great. But the owner has clearly checked out. read more

It disheartens me to write this but it's time. Love Curry was our favorite restaurant in TC. We are huge fans of Indian food and thought we lucked out in finding this gem of a place. Well, for a year, it was fabulous until our last and most likely final meal. The prelude of getting the spoiled mango lassi was just the start. What bothered me more was not that it was spoiled but the fact that when I spoke to the owner to say something was wrong with the drink, she asked me "is it spoiled?" So, you just admitted to me you tried to pass off a spoiled yogurt drink hoping I didn't have sensitive tastebuds. Strike 1. Then we ordered a couple of dishes including a chicken one. Just like the previous reviewer said, it tasted pre-cooked and thrown in with the sauce at the end. You can tell by the texture it was old and the flavor wasn't melded in with the sauce. Again, old food. Trying to extend the life of your food supplies at the cost of your patronage's food satisfaction. Strike 2. Lastly, when we got home, I got sick. My stomach was upset and off to the bathroom. Strike 3 and I'm out. I will pay the higher cost to eat fresh, quality food. Customers should understand good food costs money. I will not sacrifice my health and money to eat spoiled food even if it only happened once. Sorry Love Curry, you lost me as your regular. Hopefully you'll improve and go back to how it used to be. P.S. Masala's flavor is not better. Love Curry is much better tasting by a mile when it's fresh, IMO. read more

First off, I drive thru Rd 68 daily and noticed a shop that said Love something and for the longest time me and the wife assumed it was a sex shop opening up to compete with the Castle Megastore lol. Stupid me right!!! It's not, it's an authentic Indian Restaurant. The previous restaurant named the Big Burrito was a major stinker, quit possibly the worst restaurant I've ever went to try, hence why they are no longer in business. I'm so glad we are getting more authentic cuisine in the area. It's like a breath of fresh air from time to time right? We went in about a quarter to nine which the restaurant closes at nine but the owners welcomed both of us in like family. The first thing I noticed was the instant aroma of the establishment, we knew we were in for a good late night snack. The gentleman walked us thru the menu and gave us some highlights of dishes that he would recommend. Food: We wound up picking the ::::chicken butter curry:::: and also the ::::garlic naan:::: The curry came with a side of the basmati rice which was cooked perfectly compared to Masala's version! It was creamy and full of flavor, the butter/tomato based worked well with all the spices. It was just an outstanding dish that was very comforting! It's very hard to find good food for your soul but they surely shined! The naan was awesome too but I wish my garlic naan had a bigger hint of garlic, it didn't really matter too much as I used it to soak up the curry off the bowl. Definitely would've had leftover curry since the side of rice wasn't big enough to offset the amount of Curry we received, hence why we ordered the naan instead of an extra bowl of rice. First time to the restaurant and wanted to be polite and not lick the bowl clean lol. Great mom and pops restaurant! It you love awesome curry, then you really need this restaurant in your life! The owner/chef is very nice. I had the lamb and tomato which I loved. The beet salad was great. I can see this restaurant growing and only getting better. I can't wait till they get beer and wine. When rating keep in mind they have only been in business 5 months so far and the owners are very open to suggestions. P.s. I ate at Masala once and only once. It stinks like incense and cologne. He said the online menu was incorrect, and kept asking us questions about their menu items. They would not take payment over the phone; although they do accept online orders??? Butter chicken and Dal Makhani were amazing . Exactly what it is suppose to taste like. Rice was cooked right. Tandoori roti was fresh out of the clay oven. Loved the service. Someone mentioned something about new faces, I have always seen Homit as the chef. Food still taste the way it was back when they opened first. Delicious flavors! Call in an order 20 minutes before arriving at restaurant Located in strip mall next to Yoke's Fresh Market on Road 68. Small café set-up with booths and tables. Tandoori cooking and appetizer preps can be observed from your table location. It looks like everything is cooked to order which takes time. Have a beer and enjoy the flat screen TV playing Indian Soap Operas and mini-series .... closed captions are "activated" to help you figure out what is going on. The food is delicious! Caution however ..... call-in-food-orders take preference over in-house-restaurant-service. We were the only table in the restaurant for a late 2:00 PM lunch. We placed our order with the waiter. About five minutes later the telephone rang and someone placed an order-to-go. About 20 minutes later the customer arrived and picked up the order. Our dishes did not arrive at our table for about another 20 minutes after that. My recommendation to people planning to eat inside the restaurant is call in "your order" about 20 minutes before arriving. Since they prepare everything from scratch. I am curious about kitchen efficiency if they had five to six tables to serve in addition taking care of "take-out-orders" Regardless, we will come back (calling in our entrée selection ahead of time) to try out the other selections on their menu. read more

We dropped in for lunch and loved the gluten free options, we had Butter Chicken, GF chickpea naan, and regular basil naan. The butter chicken was spicy at medium FYI but fantastic! The GF naan was a pleasant surprise of a treat texture isn't normal naan but flavor and texture was worth it we will come back for more. Also had a very fresh House Juice made with beets, celery, apple and carrot if your into this kind of healthy treat it's a wonderful offering. Last I need to mention the fact their customer service was warm and welcoming. The gentleman who took care of us was quick to offer accommodations for my dietary needs and checked back in to see how those worked out. Visited for the first time yesterday. I'm beyond impressed. The service is polite and the staff was very helpful with gluten free options, which they have tons and they're clearly marked on the menu. The food came out relatively quickly. It was plated beautifully and tasted phenomenal. As many have mentioned it seems over priced but I feel for the quality and effort they put into it, It's worth $15 for food. I got the butter chicken curry and loved it. Prefect amount of spicy and a little sweet. I had medium heat. My boyfriend got the lamb chops in garam curry(can't recall the full name). On hottest heat. He really enjoyed it. Plus he said the garlic naan was amazing. Great place for a date. :) I definitely will be recommending it if anyone wants some Indian food! read more

I had the lamb meatball curry and I really didn't like the meatballs. They were dry and heavy on the cardamon. The rice was good and so was the naan. The waitress forgot our drinks until halfway through the meal and with how spicy just the medium curry was it was hard not having something to drink. My mom and friend ordered Pepsi's and both said their drinks were flat. We were still charged full price for the flat drinks that came late. However, the owner was very nice though and gave my toddler two free servings of rice before the meal since she was whining due to hunger. read more

This is the first place that we went to when we finished unloading our moving truck when we moved her from Seattle. Needless to say, there are many nice Indian and East Indian places where we come from. This place here? Well, it is great. The food is amazing. The service is great. The music was good. If I may make a suggestion. Try the Lamb Meatballs. You won't be disappointed. Also try one of the traditional drinks, they are very refreshing. We will return many times more in the future. While the service was just fine, my wife and I were very unimpressed by the food. I don't understand these extraordinarily high ratings for this place. Our vegetable pakoras were burned badly, so much so that it was difficult to distinguish the different types of vegetables contained within these fritters. Our chicken pakoras were very greasy, sat in a pool of oil, and were stripped of breading by gravity as you picked them up. Our butter chicken entrée had at best one half of a skinless boneless chicken breast in it, and the mushroom mutter was just pretty good. Our table was very filthy and sticky and covered in food after the waitress washed it. The highlight of the meal was the naan, which is very good and is fairly priced. We liked the limited menu without a zillion choices, but maybe we caught them on a bad night. Masala is absurdly better than this, as is just about every Indian restaurant I've been to on the coast. I sent the owners the following message, which they never responded to you. It's pretty unlike me to give this type of feedback too. I waited months before posting this to yelp: We had a bad meal the other night. The chef burned our vegetable fritters badly and made chicken fritters where the breading did not stay on the chicken and they were greasy. Then there was very little chicken in our butter chicken, and our table was really dirty. Based on your reviews on yelp, we were pretty surprised. By the way, we eat at Indian restaurants all over the West Coast. We were excited by your good reviews. Maybe we came on a bad night. Maybe we will try again. read more

This restaurant opened in July next to Yokes on Road 68 and is a wonderful find! We tried it tonight for the first time and were so happy we did. It was really delicious, especially the Love Curry Butter Chicken, garlic naan, Dal something (?) and samosas. The two little side sauces were tasty as well. (The only dish we thought was just so-so was the Tandoori Shrimp.) Our plates were so clean at the end of the meal we took a photo - we were pretty much one step away from licking our plates for the scrumptious sauces. Fresh, tasty, and pleased my Indian crew. The Tandoori grilled veggies tasted like a fusion of veggie fajitas, Indian spices, and paneer - it disappeared fast. The Peshwari Naan was new for us, a sweet, herbal naan - we ordered seconds and talked about it fondly. The Jamoon was hot, fresh, & delicious.
