I can't say enough amazing things about Samar! Her knowledge about infants and breastfeeding is extensive and I felt like she really knows what she is doing. She was able to help me get my baby to latch (without using a nipple shield!) and worked on building my milk supply. On top of being knowledgable, she was so kind and compassionate and made working with her such a joy. We worked with Samar during out last trimester of pregnancy. She provided us with education and encouragement that helped us feel prepared to breastfeed after birth and helped us to gain confidence in our ability. Samar was wonderful. Truly amazing. She went above and beyond what she was scoped for, and I really felt supported in every way. From the initial visit to the months afterward, she was so prompt in her responses and I always felt like she was in my corner. She gave me endless amounts of encouragement, ideas, options, things to try, etc. The most important thing I can say was that I never felt judged in any way by her. She was supportive of every decision I made for myself and my daughter, even if that included needing to supplement occasionally or needing to take a day off from breastfeeding altogether. My little boy was born at 36 weeks with a tongue tie and all of the feeding complications that go with it. Samar was recommended to me by our pediatrician, and I'm so glad she was. Samar is absolutely incredible. She met us last minute, on the day we came home from the hospital with our newborn. I was stressed and overwhelmed after a long stay and needed some major lactation support. I went from feeling like a failure to feeling calm, empowered, and fully capable of feeding my child. The hospital had me using shields, nipple guards, and football holds with 32 pillows--Samar helped me make breastfeeding natural and stress-free. Now two months later, my little man and I are doing great--he is feeding well and I feel secure and confident in my role. She offered support to my husband as well, coaching both of us in a number of things, from exercises, to massage, and more, understanding that feeding well isn't all about the milk.
