I am so glad that I decided to sign up for VTI's CNA course. Carmen, Vanessa, Janet, and Isabel were amazing instructors and I felt that I learned so much from them. When it came to taking my state exam, I knew all my skills and felt confident in the written portion. If you are looking to get your CNA license, I would highly recommend taking it with VTI! read more

Super easy to schedule! Stress free! Great instructor . I will be booking more courses here for sure.

Great school and amazing instructors who want you to succeed! Thank you to VTI and the staff who offer a great opportunity for students to take and pass the CNA courses! It's definitely a great path to take, but yes you do have to put the time in , show up and do the work to be successful. Overall, the classes and Clinical was a fun experience! If nursing is for you, i definitely recommend this school. Very professional and great instructors! Thank you to Vanessa, Carmen and Janet! read more

Our class came here to take the state test (written and skills). The male proctor watching over the written portion was unprofessional and rude to not only the students but the R.N staff proctoring the skills portion. I am a retired wild-land firefighter and the way this male proctor carried himself was unacceptable. This man's attitude towards young students, that are scared, and filled with anxiety, should be looked at with anyone allowing him to be performing that portion on any other future state test. I do understand, this proctor is not from the facility, however he is allowed to use this facility to test these poor students. read more

It's a wonderful institute I highly recommend the CNA program from experience. The instructors are genuinely here for the student's success. We also get to wear black scrubs. I enjoyed my short time at VTI I plan to return for the HHA program read more

Ventura Training Institute - My time at VTI was wonderful! Can't wait to further my career. Thank you Vanessa and Carmen Janet and Denise and Gina - Adult Education Near Me - Camarillo, California

I can definitely recommend Ventura Training Institute's IV withdrawal class! I learned so much from Janet Wharton. Her knowledge, experience and skill helped to ensure that everyone in our class was able to pass and succeed in gaining a valuable skill. Throughout the COVID 19 pandemic they stayed flexible, patient, and took all the measures necessary to stay safe. Also, these are the kind of people who remember what it's like to be the student and care about how we feel. I can't thank them enough for working with my LVN class so that our goals wouldn't be held back. read more

I never knew about this program prior to enrolling. My experience in the medical field was nonexistent prior to this program however, VTI offered ample preparation to embark on a new career. The hybrid online and in person model allowed me to learn at my own pace with much availability to access the instructors. All the ladies were knowledgeable and very helpful and they continuously provided information regarding financial aid opportunities. They even assist with connecting students with potential employers. They offer a state of the art mock clinic to develop our skill set. There's a lot of dense information but they have a no student left behind approach ensuring concepts and skills are adequately grasped. read more

In my Golden Years, I consider myself an expert in my line of expertise -- process improvement and managing people. But my dream since I was little was to be in the healthcare field. Fast forward after a successful management career I followed my calling -- to become a nurse assistant (NA), and offer assistance to the growing older population who are unable to perform certain activities on their own because of chronic ailment or disability. I researched a few schools around the Ventura/Oxnard area, and decided to enroll at the Ventura Training Institute (VTI). It's curriculum is a blend of theoretical in a class room setting, and hands-on/clinical in a long-term care facility designed to get its students out of the classroom and into the workplace quickly. Class size is small and the instructors have years of experience in the nursing field. The school provided all the tools students like me needed to pass the state licensing examination. A week after my NA graduation, I took the state competency examination and passed both the written and the skills. Right after graduation, Denise Wharton, VTI Director has referred me to a client in Malibu needing a Personal Care Attendant. I went for an interview, the client was pleased with my knowledge in providing excellent care to a recovering stroke patient, and offered me the job. The pay is great, the work environment is positive, and comfortable. In December, I will be back to VTI to continue my training in the Home Health Aid for two weekends. VTI exceeded my expectations, and so pleased for turning into reality my childhood dream of being a part of a team dedicated to healing, and improving lives. read more

It's not surprising to get an emotional response from none professional business and management. You can't even manage your emotions. It was better to investigate what happened instead, but that's expected from you. You can blame hackers this time :) Having fewer reviews doesn't mean it's a fake account. I really don't like to leave a negative review, but the reason was to get you to pay more attention to the work and don't do stupid mistakes, so others won't suffer like I did. I have nothing personal against you and any one in your organization. You sent my information incorrectly to the testing center and / or CDPH. The one who's doing the paper work and entering the data did two mistakes, one with my name and another with my SSN. You have been given correct information including SSN and full name and the information was reviewed by multiple parties before delivering it to you. Because of your unbelievable mistakes, CDPH couldn't find my record, and I was spending on average 45 minutes a day on the phone trying to fix your careless and unprofessional work. Eventually, there was someone answered my call and he was willing to help. He went back to the testing date and reviewed the whole group that tested that day and found my record. I know mistakes happen but not like what you did! It wasn't a mistake it was careless and unprofessional work. Your classroom has three rows of desks. The day of the exam, people sit in pairs on each desk. You ask everyone to leave their phones in the car. The skills test happens next to the classroom using two stations. There's a curvy nurse working there, she was a wonderful and a very nice person. There was a man with a Mexican accent doing the paperwork. Again, please don't be emotional and take this personal. The reason behind this review is to push you to do a better job and don't let other people suffer. For the people they think about taking classes at this place, You don't need more reasons to choose another one. read more

Great school!!! Love all instructors. Passed test first try with their course. Janet jimmy Vanessa Denise and Elayne were great instructors

Hello future possible CNA's. I'm so impressed with this school. I relate my experience here like first going to summer camp when a little kid. I did the 6week class by the way. I'm thinking to myself if I'm gonna be sitting in the back of the class the whole time just so that I can get this whole thing over with. After all, I'm there to get certified not be BFF with everyone. That's pretty much what I did all my college years. By the first day I thought this class was going to be interesting because the instructor, Janet, had a certain style that I really liked. She's like Scheherazade (google it) with a 1001 stories to tell. Hearing her stories made me think wow this nursing stuff can actually be fun, humorous, rewarding, deep, sad, happy and every adjective possible. Janet is a treasure chest. Then we were introduced to another teacher, Keisha. We were going to have two teachers, Janet and Keisha on different days. You're going down, new teacher. It turns out that Keisha was amazing. It didn't feel like a one sided conversation where the teacher is speaking to the class. Rather, it felt like a conversation and everyone in the class was involved and learning, and laughing. Seriously, we were all laughing to tears sometimes. It's pretty rare for a teacher like this to come along. Then there are the unsung heroes in administration. I know you'll love Denisse and Vanessa. 6 weeks went by and it felt like fam with everyone there. VTI is the best. I know I wrote a novel here but I Do What I Want. Peace! Jomel Update: Wassup my peeps! I got a job today yo. I got a job 9 days after I passed my test, and I'm now working in a 5 star facility, and I got the starting salary that I wanted. Good luck to you all. read more

I had the best experience here ! Made so many new friends and teammates . They definitely prepared me in the best way possible, I passed my state exam on the first try ! Everyone there is so flexible and nice , especially Vanessa . She did an amazing job teaching us her techniques and secrets to better our skills ! I highly highly recommend. You'll thank me later . read more

The teachers and staff are great! Always helpful and if you have any questions they are always there. Very thorough and with their teaching. I was very comfortable with everyone there. We all want each other to do good. At least with my experience in my daily class I had great classmates to help practice my skills with. I will be continuing my education there for a few more classes. read more

This school met my expectations! The instructors are very caring and made me feel like family after the first courses. They work with you along the way until you graduate! I finished the course and passed my state test on the first attempt! They also help you find a job after! They will refer you to employers who are seeking CNAs. I recommend this school for anyone who wants to get their feet into the medical field! read more

The experience here was great and I felt very prepared to take the state exam. However, the organization and class materials needs some improvement. We had teaching assistants that would come in on some days and contradict the methods we had learned previously. I think it was honest mistakes but still there seemed to be a divide in communication between the instructors. Other than the organizational issues, I highly recommend getting your CNA training through VTI. read more

I could not be happier that I chose the CNA program at VTI! I even went back for my Home Health Aide certification! It is such a great facility and the instructors are absolutely amazing. The whole staff is so eager to help you further your career in nursing every step of the way. Everyone worked so well together and made those long 8 hour days in the Summer completely rewarding. The students in my class were so friendly and willing to help in any way they could. It was such a joyful day when we all passed our exam at the end of the Summer! VTI even helps you with job placement once you're certified! I would highly recommend VTI to anyone looking for a challenging and fulfilling CNA course, full of wonderful instructors and students alike. read more

Love this school! From the minute you walk in, you feel like you're part of a family. Great training and great facility.

I took the CNA program earlier this year and let me just say it is so not worth it. Yes you get your license but you're paying a lot of money for a cheap education. They're so unorganized & only care about your money. If you can take this course somewhere else pls do. read more

I attended VTI's Nursing Assistant class and had a great experience. The flow of the class was interrupted due to the pandemic, but Denice and Jannet went above and beyond to make sure the students received a high-quality learning experience. I felt fully prepared to take the state certification exam and passed on my first try. The instructors are very knowledgable and are willing to help the students at any time. The time I spent studying at VTI was THE BEST. We got a chance to march at the Ventura County Fair Parade 2014 and won first place! My group was one of the smallest there's been I think, only four people. It was a fun and educational experience with some sad stories that really made you appreciate your health both mentally and physically. We were all worried about THE TEST but of course everyone always is I presume. Well with the help of Jannet and her staff we were successful, I am so grateful that I came to this place to get my CNA certificate. Thank you VTI! read more

At first I was a little skeptical when I tried to sift the all the possible CNA programs. However, I am so pleased that I chose VTI. Our class was a little bit bigger and yet the process couldn't have gone any smoother. Not only do they prep you (if you put in your study time of course), they provide hope and connections to work at so many great quality places. The professors are also amazingly qualified with over 30 years of experience! Very nice and professional environment. Thanks! I will be coming back and recommending to anyone interested. read more

I am so glad I found Ventura Training Institute, I use to work as a CNA. I got a job outside the Health Care Field, my CNA was about to expire, I choose the option of just retesting. I planned to just re take the CNA Test since the last time I did really well and passed on the first try. Well since its been awhile I failed my skills test, I needed some extra help Ventura Training Institute let me use the training center for a small fee and I was able to sit in on a few classes everything came back to me, I am happy to say that I passed. I can not speak highly enough of the Ventura Institute of Training for Chemical Dependency. The accelerated one year program (compared to Oxnard college or SBCC -2 year program) offers a great schedule in half the time. As a single mother, this was a very do-able/feasible schedule- it also accommodates any full-time employees looking to be able to further their education in the drugs and alcohol field. The classes are smaller which really allows for a more hands on approach to learning. The core courses have been super relevant and current with what's happening NOW-- not old outdated material etc... I know payment plans are set up which really eliminates a heavy financial burden. But most of all- the owner of the institute is the real gem. She is exceptional in her craft and teaching ability. She hand picks the instructors that meet her criteria--which is top-shelf quality. It's been a privilege attending this school and I look forward to graduating in the next few months. GREAT school. read more

I highly recommend VTI for anyone that is looking for healthcare education in Ventura County. Good instructors, nice facilities and reasonable price for the course. The staff and instructors were very very caring and helpful! They were genuinely concerned with making sure that students know what the expectations are, are prepared for tests and have a good experience. Expectations and learning goals were very clear and there were checkpoints often so students could check their progress and understanding. Overall recommend as it was easily fit into a month and I learned a lot! read more
