I am an alumni of CCI. I literally just had my graduation/pinning ceremony last Friday…read more For those that are curious, want to change to a different career path, one that is stable, rewarding and let's face it secure? CCI has various health care related options, all fast tracked and have both day and evening options so you can still continue to work while attending school (granted that there are enough enrollees to facilitate both options) They have caring and knowledgeable staff who are experts in their fields, and give honest insight into the field that you selected to pursue. They have externships to actual facilities where you get real world exposure and training. You get out of this what you put in, so by no means are the programs easy, but you learn a lot. There are also financial aid options available to those who qualify. Most fields of study can be completed in less than 18months. I finished the Vocational Nursing program which was about 14months of actual school, and already am receiving job offers from several sites. If you're unsure, just stop by the campus and ask for Micheal Boyd. Take a campus tour, ask as much as you can before committing.

In return I got placed on the wait list and genesis still expected me to pay enrollment fees with out the guarantee of being able to sign my contract she said there was no guarantee and it's a risk I have to take as being on the waitlist. So I paid a couple hundred and was expected to still show up and she was still allowing others to sign their contracts and enroll. She lacks professionalism and etiquette and the dean cares more about staff than the students. The way she allows her to treat others this way speaks volumes. Genesis straight picks and chooses who she wants as long as u don't pose a threat to her.

If you are looking to give back to a non-profit... THIS IS IT!…read more Info: https://www.draggteam.org/ DRAGG provides program classes and curriculum, mentorships, scholarships, field trips, community engagement to internships---there here for the Oxnard community and growing! Keeping kids under 18 years of age off the streets and providing a safe opportunity to engage hands on in the automotive world is grand! To find out how you or your company can get involved, please contact info@draggteam.org today! There always looking for supporters, volunteers, students to enroll---the list goes on! DRAGG is a youth automotive after-school program that encourages kids to stay in high school and work toward graduation by providing an incentive in the automotive industry through career exploration. In 2009, the DRAGG program was created by two AMAZINBG Oxnard Police Department officers in response to the alarming rate of local youth making life-altering choices such as dropping out of high school, committing crimes, and entering the juvenile justice system. To date, DRAGG has reached over 500 Ventura County youth in its 9-year history. The program currently operates in nine schools within the Oxnard Union High School District, with students participating in after-school classes two days per week. DRAGG's mission is to provide an alternative to gangs, graffiti, and other misconduct through a positive workforce training opportunity in the unique environment of the automotive and trade industry. The DRAGG program has operated in Ventura County high schools since 2011, serving at-risk students related to criminal involvement, gang participation, dropping out of school, substance abuse, and other poor life choices. DRAGG leverages the shared enthusiasm within the automotive industry by providing a common interest for students and mentors while building a positive connection. This creates an effective learning environment that leads to DRAGG students completing high school. Acquiring skills and referrals in the lucrative automotive and trade fields will lead them successfully into the workforce after graduation. Most importantly, students develop positive relationships with mentors in law enforcement and education, often receiving guidance and structure at a critical time in their transition to adulthood.

I've been attending the VACE 3D Modeling and Design Drafter class and will be finishing up and…read morestarting a new career in the CAD industry at the end of the month. There is no way I'd have gotten this job without the knowledge of the two excellent instructors in the class, Scott and Dennis, who have a wealth of experience when it comes to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revitt. My favorite aspect of the school is that you're treated like an adult. I'm in my mid-30's and haven't attended classes of any sort since my early 20's as I'm not a fan of the 'typical' classroom environment. Here you're treated respectfully and with and understanding that there are other things going on in your life while you're attending class practically full time(M-F, 8-4). It's a professional environment without feeling stuffy. I've been in the work force for 15+ years and the school is a nice proxy for what a working environment might feel like. Another great aspect of this school is that they want you to get a job and will fall over themselves to help you get there. I think I interview very well and have good resume making skills, but the experts at the school who help you when you're in the final stretch with these things were immensely helpful in making me feel prepared for the interviews I went to. I've heard other graduates say the same. All the staff here are very supportive and if you're looking for a fresh start and a new career, I really can't recommend VACE enough. it was a life changing positive experience for me and I'm sure it will be for you too.

I am very disappointed how the program my mentee attempted to enter was set up. There was much…read moreinterest in processing her financial aid, but less focus on teaching and supporting. The resources provided in her program (medical assisting) we're not sound pedagogically, not androgogically. It is a very self paced program with little scaffolding. I could not get ahold 9f the placement person to ask about internships and job placement. There were very few students in the building during the two weeks of her trial. Did theyattend 8n the morning or did few come? The website is not very descriptive and cites 100% placement rate. That seems unlikely, tho I suppose possible. It does cost much less to attend this program than other local for-profit medical assisting programs, but I think you need to be a much more sophisticated learner than most high school grads without work or life experience. ((I find it truly abhorrent to charge as much as these programs do to enter a relatively low-paying occupation. There is a two week trial period, which is good. Unfortunately, when it looked like my mentee was going to struggle with the pace of the program, they just wrote her off and told her not to return until they contacted her and have not done so for over two months since then. To be fair, I'm going by her side of things ,but I have no reason to believe she misrepresented her experience with me. I was very disappointed for her.
