I teach yoga. I teach both Ashtanga and Yin yoga. In the latter aka Yin yoga there is a yoga pose called Lounge Lizard. It is a nice posture and always associated it with something out of a Vegas casino until now. Lounge Lizard caught my attention on Yelp as it was listed under thrift store and furniture store. Lounge Lizard does primarily furniture here and list themselves on the door Furniture with a Past. All furniture is refurbished. Some really nice furniture here and a handful of used books yet no clothes here. I used to live in Portland and if still lived here would be sure to head here to pick up some furniture yet live out of state. Now when I teach the lounge lizard posture in yoga will think of this store. Worth checking out for some unique items of furniture.

Homemade furniture, Lamps, and a selection of Refurbished Vintage stuff -this place is unique in terms of what they offer !! We were able to walk & look & sit & "try out" various pieces with no fuss. Since it is a big open stores, plenty of styles & selections from which to choose. What I was not impressed was the prices -it was all over the place and some of the stuff did not justify the costs . I am all for splurging on a piece that you fall in love with but it really has to be splurge worthy . There were quite a few things that I really liked but I want to first take my time seeing if I can get them for a better price . Certainly recommended if unique and different is your vibe .

What a cute place! Came here right after we had sushi across the street and we've been looking for an over head light and found so many cute options. Unfortunately because we were out of state they didn't ship to MN and it was just trickier to think of all the logic this with shipping given we were leaving back really soon. Staff were very welcoming and the space honestly would be so cool to do a photo shoot in. It's super fun and they have very unique pieces that would make any home stand out.

I was SO impressed with the selection at this store and then my mind was blown once I saw how good the prices were. The owner Christopher was so warm and helped answer all my questions while I shopped. He went above and beyond to help me. So happy with my new dresser and nightstand and can't wait to return to purchase more cute home decor! I'm simply obsessed with this store, my new favorite place to shop.

    So much incredible lighting!

If you are a vintage/retro lamp fanatic who loves the mid-century look, Lounge Lizard was made for you. I spotted the two locations by accident, while driving my daughter to other vintage stores up the street. My head whipped around and my eyes bugged out at the sight of so many fiberglass lamp shades. I made a mental note to return ASAP. I was back the following day. I started at the smaller location on the 1300 block. I couldn't believe how many ceramic/fiberglass lamps they had. How could they possibly have so many, in such incredible condition? That's when I learned that they create their own reproductions! How did I not know this was a thing? Yes, they cast the bases and roll and print the shades themselves. By this time I was starting to think that a lamp would be a wonderful Portland souvenir. I headed up to the next location on the 1400 block to be sure I saw everything. Almost immediately I spotted the futuristic ceramic and metal lamp that would become mine. The design on the shade wasn't exactly to my liking but that was not a problem at all...they tested a couple of others that I liked and subbed in my favorite. I got a tall, stunning, unique table lamp for $169, and the employee who created it was the one who sold it to me. Not only is my lamp beautiful, it has a story. Worth every penny!

Stumbled upon this store on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. This store has been here for years yet I finally found myself stopping in and admiring every detail. They offer a plethora of various 'vintage' light fixtures that caught my eyes. Others were coming and going, looking for special pieces, or just admiring the store, like myself. They also have pillow throws on the shelves and trinkets if you take the time to look around. The gal who was working the shift shared a little bit about this place. They have 'pickers' who shop at estate sales and this store buys them out. They also do their own woodworking finishes on cabinets and tables in-house. If you're around the area, drop in and you'll find yourself immersed back in time, lounging or jamming to some oldie tunes. This place is short of anything boring as items rotate often. I didn't buy anything but I'm the type who enjoys browsing so there's a high chance I'll find myself back here again in the near future.

The owner of this place is super nice and very accommodating! I had a great experience and he really went out of his way to make sure I was happy with my purchase. They might not have refunds but he isn't opposed to exchanges which is nice! Good business over here !! (:

Great variety of different furniture pieces. Just be prepared to pay a hefty price for furniture here as everything is very expensive.

Horrible service. And pricing is way to inflated for old stuff. Prices are made up as they go. Won't return.

The quality of the product exceeded expectations and we look forward to many years of use and relaxation. We have been living in Portland for five years and wish we had found City Liquidators sooner. We have a small craftsman cottage with limited space and David really helped us pick the right furniture for our space. If you live in a larger house the choices are endless. Not just furniture but antique bars, neon lights, classic oversized film and music posters and artwork. You can get a lifesize Harley Quinn or John Wayne wooden statue, credenza's or wardrobes along with any kitchen supplies and small appliances you might need. New and vintage choices abound. When you go plan accordingly as there are multiple floors of merchandise to choose from and free lollipops for the kids to keep them busy. Even if you don't buy anything, the first trip you'll be blown away by the selection and you'll definitely come back to get something unique the next time. That's what we did. Also, and most importantly, no pressure from the sales staff. They let you wander around and really look over anything you'd like. As I like to say you don't get the hard sell on the soft couch. Have fun.

Vast selection, the best vintage in Portland! When I visit, I plan on at least 45 minutes because there is so much to see! I walk around the entire footprint then turn around and walk the other direction because different items will catch your eye. If you are seeking an occasional chair, they have so many styles and cool pieces. Wish I had room for more! They just don't make these styles anymore or of the same quality. They usually have a large selection of couches also in shades of teal, orange, avocado just like on The Brady Bunch. Even plaid, if that's your thing. And of course boomerang shaped coffee tables to complete your seating area. There are so many unique one of a kind pieces too, like an upright piano transformed into a bar. OMG, I wish I had the space for it! What I always have room for is unique bar ware and glasses and they have lots to choose from. Lots of metal and sculptural wall art which really gives a room personality especially when complimenting paintings or prints. They have a large selection of table lamps but it's the hanging pendants that I really love. Perusing this store ignites so many memories! I see items that take me back to my childhood home, pieces I haven't thought about in years. My face lights up remembering a curved side table, a Sputnik light and metal flower wall art similar to what adorned our den. Or a set of whiskey sour glasses like the ones my dad drank from, prints on pillows that are in photographs in my family album. Furniture that over years made it's way to our basement and then probably a vintage shop like Hawthorne Modern! Love, love, love this place! They moved to SE Alder but the charm, the selection, the finds are all still there!

I consigned 7 pieces with them in February 2023. Michael, the owner of the business, violated the terms of consignment contract in two ways and was just a poor business person to deal with. He violated the agreement by lowering prices for my pieces below the agreed threshold without notifying me, as was required. And he did not make payments to me following sales of individual items as was also required. Perhaps more importantly, as Renetta experienced, he provided no documentation whatsoever as to the actual sales of the items - no receipts, invoices sent to clients, no notation of sales prices per item, nothing. He just said the total proceeds were XXX$ (less than 50% of his original estimation). So he could have been completely making the number up. Because of this I asked for a report with prices by pieces and receipts. He refused to provide one. When I eventually gave up on that, he then ignored my requests for payment until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was finally paid for my pieces almost a year after consigning them. I am a small business owner myself. I store receipts for every transaction my business conducts. If someone asks for a receipt or record of a transaction I can provide it easily. For Michael, this is too much to ask.

They have curated a vast collection of mid-century modern furniture, many unique pieces, and in good condition. Was impressed and amazed at how many chairs they have! Not one or two of this and that; they had enough of the same chair to surround a dining table for 6 or 8! And also many dining tables of different materials and styles. Michael, the owner, gave me a cheerful greeting upon entry and welcomed me into the store. He gave me details on several items I was checking out, and since he didn't have the Eames chairs in the particular color and leg style I'm seeking, he offered to reach out to his network and get back to me. Now that is service! The store is deceivingly large so take your time and go through every room. In addition to couches, occasional chairs, dining tables and chairs, there are coffee tables, ottomans, side tables, lamps, hanging lights, chandeliers, pottery, vases, some dinnerware and some beautiful art. I'm so happy that I discovered this gem of a store! I will be making my rounds here frequently. Beautiful items, fair prices, and super friendly and helpful service - a winning combo!
