My wife and I stumbled upon this store by chance on our way to get pie from Lauretta Jean's down the street, and holy SHIT! What a perfect treasure trove! I could've stayed in there all day, easily. A lot of the negative reviews are baffling because prices are incredible and the employees were incredibly kind and friendly AND nobody said a single word about us touching the products. Maybe some people are just terrible at being customers? Anyway, if I wasn't traveling, I would've bought SO many things. Amazing old SLR cameras, guitars that my wife was messing around with, old toys, books, records at incredible prices... I so wish I could've fit stuff in my stupid suitcase. Records wise, they had The Four Tops, Joe Tex, Archie Bell & The Drells, Martha & The Vandellas, WILSON PICKETT!!!!!! and so many other soul albums I want to own sooo badly. Solomon Burke, for god's sake!!!! And most were $8-15 MAXIMUM which blew my stupid little mind. I need to come back here either on a road trip from CA or just suck it up and ship stuff to myself. And of course they have a beautiful puffball cat who was enjoying chin scratches but balked at my wife trying to pet her on the back (I WARNED HER). This store has many ingredients for greatness: the name, they've been around for 30+ years, staff gets great feedback and gives professional replies to reviews, they have a cat that lives there! FYI: they had to relocate in 2021 due to a fire at their old location. So some Yelp photos are of the old place. For a resale store, I am always balancing two things: (1) how items are displayed / how easy it is to browse, and (2) the value of the pricing. And unfortunately this store was too full, with narrow aisles, and some things that seemed to me like junk (probably other people's treasure)... at too high a cost. I saw a single plate for $15. I likely won't visit regularly, but I think stores like this are worth supporting! read more

Went in here with my mother who was visiting, we saw this store after checking out Artifact and who can ignore the promise of really good stuff? And it was. If you love searching through a horde of antique and vintage instruments, photos, clothing, furniture, and knickknacks, this is the place for you! I am personally a fan of the clutter. While many antique stores are jam-packed with useless items, this one is an exception. It's hard not to find something to take home every time I'm in there. Most recently, I fell in love with a cane that Evan resized on the spot to accommodate my short stature. While the cost of some items lean higher, I justify it as the price for having access to a great selection of really good stuff. read more

I'll be honest, I only came to this store for the cat I saw in reviews, stayed for the dog though. It was really a cute store, lots of unique and vintage tech and random trinkets. Owner was very nice and accommodating from what I overheard. Every sign had a little joke or sarcastic note on it which added a certain charm to the store. Everything was priced pretty reasonably. All in all a cool place to drop into. The dog was so sweet and friendly while the cat was still warming up to people but if you spend a couple minutes with just her, she'll be purring. read more

We met and had an agreement - He then met with the homeowner's son, also great - it was all promises, handshakes and smiles all around. We came up with a price and I was confident that he would be there. Now keep in mind the I'm from the East coast and flew in to make sure this this job ran smooth. When the day came to Start work, I got a text from Evan that said "sorry, I can't do it". Now I'm really screwed, I must go back to square one, with no time left! I was given a recommendation to bring a few things into the jeweler Bryan who has his workspace in the back of the store. He wasn't present when I dropped my things off. i described what I needed done to the store owner. I then got a call from the owner because he forgot what I needed done though he had scribbled some notes. I then got a call from Bryan who told me he could do the repairs for $30 and would have them done "anytime after Tuesday". I went in to get them Friday morning and in his absence the owner couldn't find the pieces (Bryan wasn't there). When Bryan came in later, he called me, and said he still hadn't finished (at least two days after they were to have been done) but he would have them done by the end of the day. I went in a few minutes after the store had closed and the owner had the pieces ready, but now the price had gone up to $40. I explained that I had been given a quote of $30. He found a receipt that said $40. He said that the jeweler was "in his 90's and not in good health" and that I should "cut him a break". I said that a price quote is a verbal agreement and a good business honors that. He told me I could come back (for a fourth time) to finally meet Bryan and discuss the bill. I told him I wouldn't bother. He asked me to do him a favor and to not shop there ever again. I responded that he needn't worry, I had no intention of ever returning. I know that the store owner is not responsible for the jeweler but he should at least let people know to get a written estimate as both of them appear to have some memory issues. The work was done, and I felt like rather than "the customer is always right" these two characters need to discuss their relationship and how to interact in a professional manner with people who come it. read more

i brought a bracelet in to get re-soldered on recommendation from another shop. got this bracelet from my grandmother and had it a long time. the repairman Bryan butchered the job, bent the piece that needed to be re-soldered and didn't even close the break. worse than that, the stone on the broken piece is a dull grey color now instead of the blue it was when i dropped it off. seems to me he torched the stone and just broke the piece worse. then called me in and tried to charge me $25 for it. do not bring meaningful jewelry here for repair. read more

Really Good Stuff is a charming little antique shop run by three older gentlemen and a slightly spicy cat. I thoroughly enjoyed poking around the store, and was beyond delighted to find 4 great Star Trek toy sets, still in the original packaging, and priced very reasonably. Even better, since I was visiting from out of town, they agreed to ship it to me. The package arrived yesterday, as promised, and I cannot wait to gift my finds come Christmas. My daughter and I visited for the first time total. We love going thrifting and finding cool stuff. The store itself is pretty small. It did have a lot of interesting items from what we saw. The items were quite expensive compared to other thrift/antique stores stores we frequent - so we left without browsing the whole store. It just wasn't the vibe we like in a thrift store. read more

Had my husband stay outside with our kids so they wouldn't get into anything. While I was inside the man setting stuff outside rudely told them to move pointing out to the street even though they were not even close to being in his way. Given the reviews about your attitude towards people visiting your shop I do not think that my husband over reacted to how he was treated as the consensus seems to be you are rude. I eat at Riyadh's next door all the time and always wondered about this store. Finally, I had a few minutes to kill so I went in. I WILL BE BACK! Wow, what fun - and this place is HUGE! I met their sweet store kitty Tommy who is a big fat lazy but super sweet Tom cat who loves affection. Not even looking to bring something how I came across this great print and a beautiful pewter figurine. Went up front and he just wanted $10 for both...seriously??!! Best deal ever! Definitely messy, things are just piled all over the place. They ask for your backpack but it's not for security - it's so you don't end up bumping into (and knocking over!) anything. Even though things aren't as well presented and pretty as Lounge Lizard a couple doors down, just spend some time here and you will find some amazing treasures. The highlights: - An old dental chair from the 50's - pink, leather, full of scary looking tools. - Guitars for only about $60! A little out of tune, but my friend and I jammed for a little bit and hey they worked. - Super old school video games - think an asteroid/brick type game where your spaceship is made of 3 pixels. Instant Relatives, Costumes, and Cat-themed restroom! So we were in Portland visiting some relatives for a week. After exhausting downtown, we hopped on the 15 bus to get back to SE, and through the bus window I saw Really Good Stuff on SE Hawthorne. They had some cool stuff outside, so we yanked the stop chain and disembarked from the bus. Whoa, treasures galore! My sister went straight for the Instant Relatives section, which has multiple file cabinets full of old photos, separated by "Uncles," "Grandmas," "Sisters," etc. There was so much cool stuff in there, but the store owner wants to hang on to most of it, you can tell, because the shite isn't priced to move. Old film reels for a DOLLAR a MINUTE?!? So you want 80 BUCKS for this random partial film that we can't even see first? Whatever. So in the end, we dug through a lot, but walked away with very little. I picked out a couple of postcards cause they said 10c on them, but I guess that was the old price (what they were at the estate sale), cause the guy at the counter charged me 50c a piece. Sadface bumtown. This place is great for entertainment and killing time, but not so great for actual collectors. Think of it as a museum, or an old attic belonging to your friend's grandfather. Shopping in this store is like browsing through your grandma's attic. There are so many treasures and trash all crammed into a confined space. It isn't a bad thing though. I loved it! At times it was hard to walk around without bumping into things (as spaces can be tight), so women....leave your large purses/bags at home! They sell a lot of really old, unique things here and the prices on some things didn't seem way sky high. But some things were more than what I would pay for. There was a cute cat just lounging around on table tops, which I thought was just adorable! They sell all sorts of things here, from vintage tea cups, to old coca cola bottles (with liquids still inside)! It was a great place to browse! read more

Ever see that old 80's show "Friday the 13th"? With the cursed artifacts and creepy monkey? Yeah, that place is real. And it is way cooler than the show. Honestly, things are priced at a reasonable level for all of the goods offered. Everything from old tube radios, to zippos and stop signs. It is the variety here that you could probably spend hours sorting through everything which has its own oddball kind of organizational structure. It is cramped, I must say. So you are having to be careful if there are more than a few people in the area, you are having to be careful not to upend one thing or another.
