Check ALL of your items before leaving the store and tell them to box in front of you. Just because it's a high-end store, doesn't mean mishap can't happen.
Maybe it was my bad luck but I was helped by the worse sale associate of all time here in Bijenkorf.
I went to the store and purchased 4 bracelets for gifts and the sale associate name Dedi was the one that helped me back in May. Dedi helped me pick out some bracelets and the customer service was fine until he gave up halfway trying to buckle the bracelet on my wrist and leaving me doing it by myself. I was not happy with the service but decided to purchase anyway because the prices were good.
Dedi took the bracelets to the back room and wrapped them nicely in boxes with bows. Since I am a frequent buyer of Louis Vuttion, never once I need to check the items before leaving because it's a high-end boutique so what could go wrong. I was wronged! I should have checked. When I showed my goods at the airport's customs in Amsterdam, one of my bracelets wasn't inside the box.
I called the customer service hotline and the operator told me that someone will contact me 24 hours later but i never received any call. I also left Dedi a message but he never gets back to me until a week after. I felt like Dedi scams me. When I went back to the US, I called again and this time someone was able to help and told me that I need to provide bank info to get a refund even though I used my credit card. They make it extremely difficult to get my money back and apparently, they can't send my good or I can pick up the bracelet here in the US because of a different region. With no choice, I made a new bank account just to get my refund. Yet, two days later they said there was a problem with the bank and will ship my good to the US.
Why can they just do that in the first place? This makes me thinking, is it because I am a tourist so Dedi purposely doing that to scam me or he's just careless? Whatever the reason was, Dedi never once apologized for his mistake.
My nightmare isn't over just because Dedi said he'll ship my good. I gave him my shipping address on May 25 and after 2 weeks of waiting, I emailed again on June 4 asking for the tracking number. On June 5, Dedi replied and sent the tracking number. And the messed up part was he sent my item a day after I asked for the tracking number. So if I wasn't pressuring and asking for my good, then I would never receive it and lost my money.
If you are a tourist, make sure all of your goods present in front of you even if the good already fully wrapped and aviod Dedi at all cost! read more
