I attended the Welcome to the West festival and this was the worst show I've ever seen there. Getting into the show was fine, the lines luckily were not long at all and security check was fine. You do not need a clear bag at this venue only size restrictions. Within the first five minutes we were notified the venue is now cashless which they didn't mention in the set up email so that was a bummer as I had brought cash. My friend ended up buying us each a drink and a shot each so four drinks total. He paid over $110 for four drinks. I expect prices to be high at concerts but charging the same price for a shot and a mixed drink is ridiculous. That ended up being the only alcohol we purchased the entire five hours we were there. Since the concert was so long we figured we would get a snack and some water. The concession stand worker decided to tell me AFTER i purchased two waters they have to remove the caps. I don't know when they started this, it makes it difficult and unsafe to leave uncapped unless you chug it all at once. I had them hold one for me behind the counter and when I came back for the second one it was given to me with the cap on. It's really frustrating spending money to see artist when you can't see due to lighting. Multiple artist were performing with either no stage lighting or purple dim lighting. They even put it on the screen you could visibly see them performing in the dark. The DJs were switched out frequently with many of them having sound difficulties and restarting the same song. During E-40 performance his mic as well B-legit were turned off and on. You could see the artist frustration with the DJs on stage. Getting to our seats wasn't an issue at first but after the second hour there it became a safety hazard as none of the staff cleared the walkways which resulted in mobs of people throughout the stairs and consistently stopped me to check my tickets but let four people in front of me without checking anything. My biggest disappointment is with the lack of organization of this show. I hope I am able to change my review later this year but also I hope I don't regret my other shows since I spent a lot of money for multiple shows here.

This ball park has changed names four times so far and is currently called Oracle Park. The view of the bay is gorgeous in the background and on a sunny day, it's like magic. The park is family friendly. Coca Cola slides are fun for kids and there are many areas to play in the back, including some arcade games. I always enjoy the garlic fries and Giants home run dog from the Doggie Diner cart. Recently, I had the Ghirardelli world famous hot fudge sundae and it was delicious. Food is expensive, but good. The SF Giants regularly have free giveaways such as bobbleheads, shirts, hats, etc and themed events, making the baseball experience even more fun. I love Hello Kitty day! The weather can be brutally cold some evenings, and even daytime, with the chilly air, wind, and fog. And on other days, it can be sunny, warm, and gorgeous. Watching the seagulls come for the food at the end of each game is always funny. I've been to the Giants ballpark many times and have always enjoyed it. At the most recent game I attended, I got to see a grand slam by Harrison Bader! How lucky we were! Although the Giants have been up and down, the 2010 years were the best, 2010, 2012, and 2014. Great decade for the Bay Area!

Background Attended a Sunday afternoon Mother's Day game against Pittsburgh . Weather was initially cool, cloudy and windy, but turned sunny and warmer just as the game started. Had field level seats near home plate with a view directly down third-base line. Great game. Giants came from two-runs down three separate times including in extra innings. Pirates ultimately walked the plank 7-6. Stadium Wonderful open outfield view of the bay, including the now famous giant Coke bottle, glove, and McCovey Cove. It's a fun stadium to walk around and take in the sights. Packed house, loud and avid fanbase. I loved the jammin' organist. Very accessible, whether from foot, car, bike (valet service!), train, or yes, ferry or water taxi. I suppose you could even moor your yacht at the nearby marina. Food Sadly, the hot dogs were not good. Regular dog was bland, bacon-wrapped dog was burnt and the spicy dog tasted very much like the canned tamales I hated as a child. So avoid the dogs, there's plenty of other options. Outfield has a popular crab sandwich stand that had a very lengthy line, so get there early. What's Unusual We met a brother of one of the umpires during our stay here, that was cool and unique. Summary One of the best ballparks in the country, a must-see for your SF vacation itinerary.

Ok, here's a Throwback Thursday story…read more My first visit to this wonderful place was to see the New York Jets against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. November 17, 1968. The contest pitted "Broadway" Joe Namath against Daryle "The Mad Bomber" Lamonica. It was my first time attending an NFL game. It turned out to be a game that many say was the most memorable regular season NFL game ever. In the History of Sports, this game will forever be remembered as The Heidi Game. It's called The Heidi Game because the game ran much longer than expected and, in the Eastern US, NBC cut off their broadcast of the game to show a made-for-TV version of the children's classic, Heidi. When the East Coast broadcast was cut there was 1:01 left on the game clock, the Jets had just successfully kicked a field goal and went ahead by three. What happened next was almost too wild to be true. The Raiders scored two touchdowns in 9 seconds and subsequently ended up winning the game. Let that settle in for a minute. Fourteen points, in the span of nine seconds on the game clock. After each of those scores the Coliseum erupted in a frenzied outburst of emotion the likes of which I had never seen. I watched the game with my Dad from our end zone seats high up on the third deck. I was just a little kid, but that game left an indelible impression on me. Not just me. The Jets were in playoff contention (they ended up beating the Colts in Super Bowl III at the end of the season). So many outraged fans called the network to complain the switchboards were overloaded. (After this debacle, TV broadcast policy changed and subsequently games were shown to completion. A special secure telephone system was set up so Network executives could reliably reach local broadcasters to supervise broadcasts) The Heidi Game perfectly reflected the intense rivalry between the Raiders and the Jets. It was a rivalry that ran deep, and the contests were always savagely brutal. Just as an example, in a regular season game the year before the Heidi game, Raiders Defensive End Ben Davidson delivered a hit on Jets QB Joe Namath that broke his jaw and sent his helmet flying. After that game Namath taunted Davison, telling reporters he had been beaten up worse by women. Clearly, Joe Namath had ice water flowing in his veins. In addition to the famous Heidi game and so many more exciting Raiders games, I have been blessed to see so many other great events at the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. I will never forget seeing Vida Blue throw 100 mile per hour fastballs in 1971. Or seeing Ray Charles headlining a show with Ike and Tina Turner as an opening act. Or seeing The Grateful Dead opening for The Who twice in 1976 Or seeing Led Zeppelin twice in 1977. Or seeing Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton, Dave Mason, Fleetwood Mac, Joe Walsh, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Bob Seger, Charlie Daniels, Status Quo, Jeff Beck, Journey, J Geils Band. Blue Oyster Cult, Sammy Hagar, The Eagles, Foreigner, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, UFO, Thin Lizzy, The Outlaws, Peter Tosh, Toots and Maytals, and probably a dozen or two other bands I will recall immediately after I finish writing this review. There are a hell of a lot of incredible, eminently memorable shows on that list. But I'm telling you, as memorable experiences go, the Heidi game topped all of them. Fourteen points in Nine Seconds on the game clock! It sucks so bad that the Raiders have fallen on dark times lo these many years now. But I don't give a damn. I'm a Raiders fan for life. Mikey C says: ain't nothing gonna change that.

I literally saw their version of basic nachos, hot dogs, pretzels, candy and beverages. I expected more. MUCH more. I should've gotten food from one of the outside vendors, to be honest. They seemed to be severely understaffed in the concession areas. It was disappointing. The concert was good, but the best thing about the venue itself was the parking.

Parking was a bit pricey ($20) and quite a walk from the stadium. There was a drink stand and two food trucks on site, Waffle Roost and Saint Mary's Forager Food Truck. We grabbed an asada burrito, hot dog, and nachos from the latter, with condiments and veggies like sliced tomatoes and jalapenos available to add to our items on a separate table. Our snacks were quite tasty, plenty of warm nacho cheese and jalapenos, a plump and juicy hot dog, and generously filled burrito. Porta potties were also set up behind the bleachers, near the entrance, for convenience. Ticket check was easy, though seating reservations weren't really enforced, as most ticket levels were open seating and the overall attendance was on the lighter side. We opted for the reservable seats at the top center of the bleacher section (Premium Halfway Bay), which had ideal viewing of the game, though other sections weren't terrible. Also, it might be worth noting that the stadium had minimal shade on a sunny Saturday afternoon with a start time of 1:00pm. Before the match began, the general admission grass seating was the only place with shade. However, by the second half, there was very little shade remaining in this grassy area, and now the two rear rows of the Premium Halfway Bay reserved bleacher seats were shaded (as this was right in front of the press box shielding the sun). By the last five minutes on the scoreboard, all three rows of the Premium Halfway Bay were cool and comfortable, covered by shade, and the rest of the seats in the venue had zero shade, except a small corner of the bleachers (far left side facing the field) as there were trees near this section. All in all we had a fun time, and now we know what to expect next time we attend an event here.
