The nationally advertised transmission shop verified my fears that I needed a new transmission. They quoted a cost of $800 for the initial evaluation and then at least $2400-$2800, minimum, to repair the transmission. I have had 3 transmissions repaired at H R Transmission over the years and thought that they deserved consideration. Randy wanted me to leave the car; however, I told him that I was by myself for the day and would have to come back. He stopped what he was doing and offered to take me along on a test drive immediately. He drove the car for approximately 10 minutes and then informed me that the car had a performance problem - in other words, it needed a tune-up. I have made arrangements to take my Subaru back to H R Transmission to get it fixed. Randy offered me a comprehensive inspection of the car for $105 and would not then charge me for the tune-up. Once the car has been inspected (and tuned up) he will prioritize the repairs that are needed and we will proceed from there. I commented to Randy that the folks at the nationally advertised transmission shop treated me poorly and that I much appreciated the way he treated me. I've learned - or re-learned a couple of things today; always get a second opinion, and that my history at Herndon Reston Transmission should have told me something. Yep - Woohoo! As good as it gets. ...Jake Herndon, VA Follow up ... Randy and his crew finished up my Forester on Presidents' Day just in time for the snow storm that evening. I was on the road at 4:30 Tuesday morning getting my Nurse to work in Arlington. Since then, the forester has performed especially well, thanks to the good folks at Herndon Reston Transmission.

My vehicle had and A/C issue; cold air while driving and warm air when stopped. I read several reviews of different shops and avoided the ones that previously failed me. This shop had been around for many years and people kept mentioning honesty. They set up an appointment and my wife was greeted politely. They had the truck all day but I knew that they had to reproduce what I observed, draw out all the refrigerant, add leak detector, and recharge the system. They did not find any leaks but kept it 1/2 more day to see if a leak was detected. The vehicle was cooling beautifully. The technician called me and explained the diagnosis that was done. They could suspect the compressor but it was cooling very well; likewise with the fan. Basically there is nothing to fix! The only change they made was to add 1lb of refrigerant. I appreciate the honesty of this shop. Many could and would have scammed me out of a big repair. Although I don't like taking my vehicles to shops, I will trust this one when the need arises again.

First, I would like to say that there were no prior issues with my car per regular maintenance from Infiniti/ Jiffy Lube, however, there were now "issues" that they "found" that mandated resolution totaling over $2,600. Given my time limit, I unfortunately agreed. When my car was ready, there was no call to let me know that it was ready, just a text message, which in my opinion is very poor customer service. Then, unfortunately, the day after picking up my car, which was the day of my flight , I realized that they had damaged parts of my car and that my car drove differently, sometimes randomly transmitting unfamiliar fumes that can be smell inside the car. Sunoco then sent a text message asking if I had any questions or concerns with my vehicle. I sent a thorough response back with pictures, however, no one ever came back with a response or an explanation. The damage to my car with no response to my inquiry is extremely unacceptable given the large cost. Either way, I've accepted my poor decision but just wanted to ensure that no one else would make the same poor decision of going here for an honest inspection that would lead to no damage. 0/10 recommend, however, that wasn't an option.

I returned my car to them and they recharged my battery, but did not check their installation of the door switch or advise me to bring the car back in to check the fuse box. subsequently, I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were able to perform the drain test and install a new door window switch. The window switch purchased at Driven Autorepair was under warranty and the manager wouldn't give me a refund on the defective part. I was the part could only replaced. Advising potential customers of their policy and you have no choice other than to use their services when a part is under warranty. The manager would not take fiscal responsibility for the potential faulty part they purchased and/or the potential faulty installation they provided on my car. I lost over $800 dollars trusting the integrity of the services provided by this company. Buyer Beware!

I took my 2019 Hyundai Tucson 4.0 L to 95 Auto Service on 08/30/2026, because my mechanic of 30…read moreyears gave up on trying to fix my 2019 Hyundai Tucson. I found 95 Auto Service through my auto warranty. (Of course, my warranty didn't cover these repairs). It's crazy that my former mechanic of 30 years had replaced the manifold catalytic converter twice - 07/2024 and 05/2025. Of course, the engine light came back on 05/2026. I keep a diagnostic device in my car when I get warnings on my car. Of course, my readings were always P0420. Ephrem with 95 Auto told me that he had the same P0420 reading and said that the car needed another catalytic converter. That makes this the THIRD manifold catalytic converter replacement. Please note that I did a Google search about this issue, and I found that Hyundai Tucson's have issues with their manifold catalytic converters. In any case, after FOUR manifold catalytic converter replacements (yes, I said 4), 95 Auto Service was able to find the root cause as to why I was burning through these converters. Unfortunately, the root cause does not provide a diagnostic code. So, the team at 95 Auto had to go through EVERY component to locate the problem. Happy to say that 95 Auto solved the problem . . . for now - HEYYYY, it's a Hyundai! lol Needless to say, I have reported this to Hyundai Corp. Now I have to get the roof panel repainted but at least Hyundai will cover this.
