THE ONLY REASON THEY GET 2 stars is because the new girl that lasers is so sweet and caring(she alone would get 5 stars but she should find a new laser salon so she can be more appreciated) but the owner is RUDE and always finds ways to take money from you. She will purposely notify you of your appointment the day before so that if you need to reschedule you have to pay a fee. She signs you up with lasers treatments and after you sign up you have to pay a fee for the plastic device that goes on top of the laser AFTER already paying for treatments. She switches out the laser machine without notifying you until you get to your appointment and will make you pay a fee to reschedule. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY like I unfortunately did. The results from this laser takes sooo much longer than if you find a place with the candela laser. Pay more money somewhere else. I've been to lotus 5 times and have had nothing but a great experience. I got a Groupon for my Brazilian area and ended up also doing 3 sessions for my underarms and upper lips. The lady at reception (I think the owner) has always been professional and friendly and always calls a few days before your appointment to remind you. The tech is super friendly and made me feel comfortable even though I was super nervous my first time. I did my research before and was aware of the $20 charge for the laser tip. The laser they use (lightsheer duet) is one of the best. The tip is larger and more efficient than another machine that is common at other salons (cynosure). The lightsheer duet is also far less painful and very effective. My underarm hair is mostly gone after 3 sessions here (3 at another salon as well) and it was far quicker and less painful here. My brazilian area as well, while painful, was much less painful than it would have been with the cynosure. My results have been good and I'm happy with it. I have one more appointment and am confident I will have good results overall. I highly recommend if you are looking to have laser hair removal done. Don't let the mixed reviews sway you. Went there for hair removal laser, half leg treatments. Nice people nice place but no good results. Used 4 machines on me becuase the main one was broken, even facial laser machine. And machines are not working or affecting at all. Waste of money. And they don't help when I told them machines are not helping. 5th session worked out for me because they bought a new hair removal. I am extremely disappointed with my laser results. I felt the need to write my first yelp review ever because the service here is beyond unacceptable. I have been going here for over a year and half with 12 sessions in the books for a Brazilian laser removal. Each time, I have a different esthetician who seems to have just finished up their training. Each time, I feel like I'm the model for the esthetician to practice on. They also use a giant laser that definitely makes the process faster, but it is not precise at all! I understand using this process on the legs, but I don't think this is a good approach for the bikini area. Besides that, I cannot believe I have had 12 sessions and see NO NOTICEABLE CHANGES. If I had any changes throughout sessions, all the hair has grown back again (only been a month and a half since I went back). I voiced my concerns to Parissa around 6 sessions and she suggested that I shave more often to change the growth cycle. I took her advice, and even bought another package. After 12 sessions, I told her I still am not seeing results! She pressured me to buy more sessions, blaming it on my skin tone and hair color. I agree that part of the reason why I had to buy more sessions was because I have darker hair. After much research, I know that I should have seen significant decrease in my hair growth at 12 sessions, regardless of my skin/hair color. If this was a legit salon that properly conducted laser hair removal sessions, I would have likely needed 3-4 more sessions as around 12-15 sessions for darker skin types is typical. I even checked this number with other surrounding spas. However, the fact that there is virtually no decrease in my hair growth makes me wonder if they even know what they're doing, and how many more sessions they might have conned me into buying if I didn't do further research. It was a complete waste of money. If you're considering going here, just know that once the Groupon sessions run out, they're going to charge just as much and do a worse job than a salon owned and operated by professionally trained workers. read more

I've had a great experience at Lotus Laser and Spa so far. Place is clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff and most of all, I already notice a big difference in hair on my legs. I bought 6 sessions and am half way done with my treatments. Hair is definitely lighter and even notice no more growth at all in most areas. And I had thick coarse hair. I went here for laser hair removal. As a busy full time working mom, I hate when I waste my money on a private business that thinks they can take peoples money and treat them however they wish. My first appointment I had to wait almost an hour. The owner did not seem that worried about it, nor organized. Not a very friendly person or accommodating either, seriously question if they like what they do. They also seem to avoid the area of concern, so that I need to come back or need more treatment. just had the worst experience. i went in for a laser hair removal treatment i had booked a week prior for my first session. i waited 15 minutes in the waiting room with no sign of anyone. i called twice with my name announced on the caller ID, and when a third phone call came in that wasn't me, a lady named parissa came to answer the phone without regarding me at all. no eye contact or hello. i go pardon me, i had an appointment scheduled for 10 minutes ago. parissa says hold on. i get helped a few minutes after, and when i finish the paperwork, and gives me the run down of laser hair removal and then says she doesn't have time to actually do my first session today. in addition, she tried raising the originally agreed upon price. if you're thinking about going here- potentially reconsider if you value professionalism and courtesy. read more

This post is a little old because it's been about a year since I finished my laser hair removal treatment here. The laser hair removal was effective and the esthetician performing the laser hair removal was very professional but the overall experience was lackluster. Similar to what was stated in a lot of reviews, I think the owner dislikes it when you use Groupon and makes it very apparent. Except it's been over a year now, and I still see this salon pop up on Groupon. So why keep using Groupon if you're going to hate your customers for it?? Anyways, that wasn't the thing that bothered me most. What was most frustrating was the limited hours that the salon is open, so scheduling was always a headache. I don't think I've been to any other salon where I struggled so much to find times that worked me. So make sure to check the hours of this salon before committing to multiple treatments! And, make sure to note that if you're scheduling for a Friday appointment, and need to reschedule, you need to do so by Tuesday because their offices are closed on Wednesday. Again- check their schedule because their hours are limited, and not friendly towards full time workers. I have now gone to another salon for my touch ups and another laser hair removal session, and I'm so glad I did! The difference in level of customer service is very apparent now. read more

I got laser hair removal on my armpits here using Groupon. The lady doing my underarms was very friendly to me during my time there. After 6 treatments I had little to no results on the amount of hair loss in that area? I blamed the fact that I do have a ton of thick hair that is VERY stubborn and hard to get rid of, but after I got laser hair removal on my legs at another place and got instant results I realized that wasn't that case at all. I wanted to wait until I had experienced 5 treatments (going for my 6th shortly) until I reviewed Lotus. I was also on a Groupon, and I know at first the $20 can be off-putting, but I researched the hair removal laser (LightSheet Duet) and was really impressed by the stats (25% less time, more effective, and definitely not painful IMO--and I've had a ton of laser treatments). Plus you keep the hand piece; I like the hygiene aspect of that. My hair is not completely gone but is much much lighter: yesterday I realized I had forgotten to shave my armpits for a week because I didn't see hair when I raised my arms while working out, so no reminders! And I still have one more session. To offer a counter opinion to the bad reviews: I like the front desk (owner) and the laser technician. I wasn't treated badly for having a Groupon, and I have been before. Groupon customers are notorious for a lack of repeat business, and since they pay less, they value things less. I say this as a frequent Groupon user :) The procedure was carefully explained to me and they ensured that I wouldn't react badly, and didn't crank up the laser just so I could see results. They've been doing this a while, and it shows. The pricing is a bit ad hoc for my tastes, but the final dollar amount is genuinely reasonable. I think that explains the mixed reviews: some people felt like they were treated unfairly or ripped off or saw a tip jar or didn't see the results they were expecting. I can understand those perspectives but to me it's more about professionalism, safety, technology, results, and if possible, value for money, and I think Lotus ticks all those boxes. read more

I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal. Never had any issues with scheduling or even having to reschedule appointments. They also accommodated me when I was late 30 mins one time which I highly appreciated. You would need to pay $20 for a plastic item that touches your skin directly during your sessions and you just bring it every time. I think that's fair and sanitary. I loved the end result! The original Groupon I purchased was for 6 treatments and I ended up purchasing one additional treatment just for good measure. Can I please tell you how much I love the down economy? I wasn't so hot on it when my income was reduced by half, or when my home lost over 1/2 of its value....these things actually suck. But I have learned to adapt to this new world, no - it's more than that. I have learned to EMBRACE it via the mircale of the Groupon, the Living Social deal, the Local Twist deal, Deal Pop, GoodNews, etc... Definitely give them a ring if you need to smooth, or fill, or laser, or peel something. Very professional staff, and an amazing little machine that permanently lasers off that stuff you've been waxing lo these many years in just a few visits. I did a lot of research before deciding to go to Lotus for Brazilian laser hair removal. I had tried one session years ago at another place where i had my legs done and vowed never again due to the pain. As I thought about giving it another try this year, I researched indepthly which lasers were the latest in technology that were good at removing hair as well as the least painful. This research lead me to Lotus due to their use of a larger treatment area laser with an innovative vacuum assist technology which reduces the treatment time up to 75% while significantly improving the comfort. The first 3 sessions, they still had to use the tradition super painful laser for some of the smaller areas used at other places, but it was so nice to have the majority of the area taken care of with the larger area laser which feels a bit weird like being pinched but not at all painful. I just had my 4th session, and this time they were able to only use the larger area laser:) It literally took them 5 minutes, and it was all finished pain free:) Lotus makes hair removal something you can look forward to rather than dread. I feel sorry for anyone having to go through with a Brazilian laser with the traditional horrible laser when the newer technology is out there in places such as Lotus. read more

The lady doing the laser treatment herself is great - super nice, friendly, does a great job. I purchased the groupon for laser hair removal and it took them over 2 months before they could get me in for my first appointment. Then when i tried to schedule my 2nd appointment, all days/times that I was trying to come in (5 weeks out) were apparently unavailable. I kept on being offered one day and one time slot...i find it very hard to believe that every single appointment over a 4 day span, 5 weeks away, was full! I have been to lots of other laser removal places and have never experienced this kind of rigidity. BEWARE Bait and Switch techniques. I purchased a Groupon for two IPL treatments. I have done these treatments many times in the past so I am familiar with the procedure. When I went into the treatment room the owner asked what areas were of concern. She then zapped each area and told me we are done! it took 5 minutes. I was shocked and realized this is a scam to get people in. She then started to say that she did not recommend IPL for my treatments and pushed other treatments. I do IPL once per year and it works great even after one session. The top layer gets dark and peels off leaving beautiful skin underneath. Nothing happened after my treatment. I am tempted to report this to the attorney general's office. I contacted Groupon and they said they could only reimburse 62 dollars of the $299 which I paid. DO NOT GO TO THIS SPA!!!! If you dont 'buy up' then you get VERY minimal sevice! I purchased a GROUPON and its the first time after hundreds of Groupons I felt SCAMMED. I choose to use the Hair removal on my Bikini Line...I explained to them that I had it done previously, and had only a few hairs near MY bikini line and thats what I wanted done. 1. The lady took 15 minutes to explain laser hair removal, and how I could "UPGRADE." I choose Not to and to only do the bikini area. 2. Once in the room the technician is doing a 2 inch area...where my leg begins...like as if I was from the 70's and had a "bush" growing out down my legs. I am not a cave woman, no need to basically do the top of my legs. I expressed to the tech that I dont have hair there because of previous hair removal and could she just do the same amount of area but UPWARDS, where it was obvious around the hair line...she told me NO, that this is what she is allowed to do for that area, or Groupon, and that I would have to "upgrade" my package if I wanted the area next to my hair line done. 3. I felt so SCAMMED, like you get nothing for the $150 unless you UPGRADE your package. I wasnt asking for more area to done, I wasnt trying to get anything for free, I was just asking that she NOT do my damn leg, and please use that 2 inch, 5 zaps, area in a higher spot. 4. Oh, and in regards to their packages...WAYYYYY, over priced! These guys are ridiculous. 5. I told the lady who gave me the "upgrade" speech that I felt scammed, since I told her I had it previously done and only wanted the area next to my already established bikini line done...she said she would make a note and I could come back in 6 weeks and she could see what she could do...I asked if they could do it right away and she tells me no, they have clients already booked and they would have to clean the room again....ARE you KIDDING ME!!! I was so pissed that it has taken me awhile to calm down and write this review...I try alot of Groupons, and in doing so have had good one and so-so ones....but I have NEVER complained about any before this time...and along the way I have found my places that are the only places I go to for certain things. I originally came to Lotus because of the laser hair removal Groupon, but ended up getting an even better deal. I travel every 3-6 months for work so it has been challenging to get consistent results with different equipment and techniques. I am very happy not only with my results but with the customer service, cleanliness and professionalism I received while I was there. The laser they use works in larger sections so it goes very quickly and was the least painful of all the treatments I've had. Keep in mind I am at the end of my treatments so they are using higher settings that should be somewhat painful. I only needed three more treatments on two different large areas and the owner worked with me to help me get the treatments I needed at an affordable price. They were very good about my need to reschedule appointments due to work and always gave a courtesy reminder a few days before my scheduled appointment. At first I was hesitant to go here due to some bad reviews I read from Groupon but this place is SO friendly and so helpful! I'm going for laser hair removal and am already so happy with my experience with Lotus. A bunch of girls also go here from my work and love it! You do have to spend $20 for the laser hair tip but it's literally just $20 and it shows how sanitary the process is since it's just used on you and you bring it back every time so it's just a one time fee. The process itself is virtually painless- only slight discomfort for a very short time compared to other places I've heard about that hurt like crazy. I purchased an ultherapy session last fall for my lower face and neck, hoping to eliminate a small waddle that had developed below my chin. Parissa assured me one session would do it. The procedure, despite the numbing cream and IB, was at times very painful, especially near bony areas like the jaw. It felt like a quick but deep electrical zap in the bone. In other locations, it was completely tolerable. Overall, I would describe this as one of the most painful laser procedures I've ever had. However, afterward, I was only slightly red and the next day looked normal, so that was a plus. After 3 months, I noticed literally no change under my chin. I made an appt with Parissa, she took pictures, and she encouraged me to give it more time. I came back after 5 months; no change. At 6 months, I returned once again, took more pictures, and expressed my dissatisfaction. This is where the 5 star rating comes in: after some discussion, Parissa agreed to another session with a new aesthetician and an Ultherapy trainer. At first, they were going to treat only under the chin, but upon my arrival, the trainer suggested a full lower face and neck treatment in order to properly treat my complaint area. The session was as painful as I remembered but also extremely meticulous and I felt they were truly invested in giving me the best result possible. It's about 2 months later and that waddle is almost completely gone. I truly appreciate that the Lotus team was willing to make it right for me and I will definitely return. read more

Please read this review before buying the Groupon deal or come in person for a "free consultation". I came across Lotus Laser and Spa last year around July 2018 via Groupon. Their reviews in Groupon were convincing so I went ahead and purchase 6 laser treatment for large area (Brazilian laser treatment) via Groupon and paid about $300. I did not bother to check their other reviews from Yelp nor Google. After purchasing the Groupon, I called the salon to make my first appt, the lady asked me to come in person that day and cancel my Groupon purchase, she told me she will give me a much better deal and better pricing. So, I came in person for the free consultation, the lady name is Parisa, she is the owner/clinic manager for this business. After about 30min of consultation, she again told me to cancel my Groupon and buy directly the laser package from her, she will charge me $300. Parisa was very persuasive and I ended up cancelling my Groupon deals and paid her the $300 directly. I learnt that day that the salon is closed every Wednesday (which is my day off) and only open one Saturday a month. Parisa refused to refunded my money at that time, she told me that she "will try to accommodate my schedule and will see me on Saturday for the skin laser treatment". Since Parisa was so nice, I decided to give it a try. What a HUGE mistake! I should not listen to her because the laser treatment did not work at all and she was not flexible at all with the Saturday scheduling. I had the laser treatment every 8weeks (5 times so far) and not seeing any difference at all. Many times, in the middle of the laser treatment the laser machine will shut down and will take a while before it restarted, the last time I had my treatment there, Lorena had to restarted the machine about 4 times. It was just very unprofessional and I feel scammed. Back in April'19, the technician who used to work there (Annette) told Parisa that the laser machine keep shutting off and nothing was done to fix the problem because the next time I came back, the laser machine is still shutting off in the middle of the session. I was very disappointed with the service and the inability to accommodate clients (plus the rescheduling issue) and I don't even want to deal with Parisa anymore for my last laser treatment, I am just done with this shitty business. I contacted Groupon and reported that this business is very fishy, they use Groupon to advertise about them and then will tell clients to cancel the Groupon and purchase directly from them. So I came in for a consultation and i hadn't purchased my Groupon yet and they insisted that I pay them directly so I went ahead and did that even though that seemed a bit sketchy. I purchased the laser treatment and unfortunately after 6 treatments I don't see results at all. I know for some the pain is minor but for me it was very painful and the older lady doing the treatment always made me feel uncomfortable. On the bright side they kept the place very clean and the lady at the front desk which I'm guessing is the owner with the dark hair was always very kind and welcoming. So based on my experience even though the Groupon price is tempting I would not recommend this place for a laser treatment. read more

I can 'Raise the Roof' without worrying about stubbies... A little less than a year ago I purchased a Groupon for this place for 6 treatments of laser hair removal. I am so glad I did. I finished up my last treatment on my underarms about a month ago and have seen about a 98% hair reduction. If hair grows back it is thinner, and I can see only about 5 hairs growing back. It takes at least 4-6 treatments spaced between 4-6 weeks to see results, but I saw a great reduction in hair after my first visit. They first used the LightSheer Duet machine on me which worked the best and only a few hairs grow back in a week. On my second session, they used some other machine which I did not like as much. Hair grew back in a less than 2 weeks, but still reduced... maybe about 40% then. The third appointment I asked them to use the Duet again, but I was told on my fourth session that they used the older machine on me again on my 3rd and 4th appointments, which I didn't like. The 4th appointment I was late and the Duet was not available. So then on the 5th and 6th appointment they were able to use the Duet on me again and I am very pleased with the results. I would say the Duet reduces about 35% or more each time, while the other machine reduces hair about 15%. Anyway, they have a nice space and the technicians are really nice. I think they do great work here and I am thinking of coming back to get some other parts done. It is a bit a ways for me to drive there, but The Duet is the only laser hair remover I trust and not that many places have it. I absolutely love the laser technician. She is friendly, nice and does a fantastic job. However, the patient coordinator or schedule lady is so rude and shouldn't have a job for the way she speaks to patients!! I have honestly never been so shocked at how rude someone can be on the phone. I would give this spa 4 or 5 stars if it weren't for her! She is not fun to deal with and not welcoming at all. read more
