From the moment I arrived, there was so much to see and do. The fall atmosphere was amazing, and all of the pumpkins and decorations made it the perfect place to enjoy the season. I especially loved how lively and welcoming the festival felt. There were plenty of opportunities to take cute fall pictures, walk around, enjoy the activities, and just spend time having fun. It was a great event for families, friends, and anyone who loves celebrating fall. The whole area had such a positive energy, and seeing everyone enjoying themselves made the experience even better. One of my favorite parts was simply taking in all the beautiful fall scenery and making memories. It was a nice way to get outside, enjoy the weather, and do something different. Overall, I had so much fun at the Discovery Green Pumpkin Festival and would definitely go again! If you enjoy pumpkins, fall activities, photo opportunities, and a festive atmosphere, this is an event worth checking out. I'm already looking forward to going back!

It's summertime in houston and we want to be outside. I decided to meet some of my folks at…read moreDiscovery Green for park after dark. They were having line dancing on Thursday nights in June. I regret not going sooner. The weather was great, a little cooler. Ok no it was still hot but felt ok. There were many vendors and for a free concert and dancing outside, discovery green crosses off a lot of boxes. Check them out if you have never been. There was plenty of seating whether you want to be near the stage or at the tables, they have benches and plenty of green space. Great for kids and ok to bring pets. I parked on the street for no charge since I waited until after 6pm. Check out their schedule of events. Can't go wrong.

Came to sit outside and read a book. Noticed the trees here have matured tremendously. Im happy…read moreabout the extended shade. This park is small compared to Hermann Park, but its just the right size for kids. They have ping pong, a golf station, few food trucks and climbing stations. Lots of green space for the kids to run around on and play catch, tag, or kickball. There is street parking and also a parking garage right on the other side.

The Michael Jackson playlist serenading us from the Gaspacho's eatery was nostalgic. Even though the Sunset Bingo MC was difficult to hear while seated on the grass, the staff were more than willing to rearrange some tables to accommodate the growing crowd. On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal. Birthdays? reunions? book a spot! The nearby restaurants and easy parking are major pluses. Levy Park has a packed calendar of events so I'm bound to be back before the summer ends.

Cute little park!…read more Playground for larger kids and infant swings and rocking horses for the smaller babies. There is also a large grassy area for toddlers to run around (ours loves to run on the grass). Lots of beautiful live oaks. Had no issue finding parking on the adjacent street. The only issue -- there was a lot of small broken glass pieces by one of the trees. I'm assuming this was an anomaly but definitely not what you want to see at a children's park.

CUTE park. As in,…read morecute little playground equipment with rabbits on giant springs, "toy" cowboys who hold up monkey bars, tall slides (medium tall by 60s/70s standards), wooden playground equipment. The only things missing were the tall slide, merry-go-rounds, and a jungle gym. However, the old (and now, kitschy), well made and maintained pieces make this one of my favorite parks in Houston. Also, its a piece of old Houston; it was established in 1926. This Rice University area park has a neighborhood organization that takes excellent care of the area. To the tune of $10,000 per year. As well they should, it's one of the last bastions of built-to-last playgrounds. Steel and wood and charm, no plastic. Who doesn't remember climbing on the pumpkin stagecoach at Pumpkin Park? Fleming Park is meant to be charming and unforgettable. If playground equipment isn't your thing, there are plenty of picnic tables, oak trees, and general relaxation areas. A perfect pocket picnic park. There's also a couple of tennis courts, two B-ball hoops, and a baseball diamond. There is no sign for the park, only a list of park rules and a community board. If you're uncertain that you are at the correct park, look for a 15' Totem Pole Bird House that was erected in 1991 by Fletcher Mackey. It is constructed of Cypress and Cedar Wood, ceramic, copper, and painted steel. One item of sadness, some idiot(s) stole the lamb spring ride back in January. There are signs on the community board with a photo and plea for its return. Rather, I should say "her." She was named "Mary the Lamb." Again, she's very, very cute, has a snow white fleece, and a giant metal spring attached to her underside.
