I didn't have such luck on Saturday because I arrived a bit late and those legal unmetered parking spaces on Brannan Street by the Flower Mart (where I usually park for Saturday afternoon games) were all filled up when I arrived. I wanted to park at the garage on South St because I always see the sign they put out on 3rd St before a weeknight game for $10 ballgame parking. I was so disappointed that I did not see the sign, and I did not want to take a chance driving in there to park anyway. Therefore I headed for this place. They charge $20, which is the same price I think they still charge on weeknights even though they are pretty much just across the street from the South Street garage. At least this garage is still fairly new and seems designed so that it's easy to navigate. You just keep driving up until you find a space you'd like to park in. There's no need to go up and down different aisles in search of a spot. Overall advice is that if the $10 parking sign is out for the South Street garage, go for that one and save 50 percent. It even saves you from having to cross 3rd Street because you'll be on the same side of the road as AT&T Park.

Initial $60 charge for event parking, however, if you decide to keep the car for overnight (regardless of car size) , there's an extra $38 fee due that you can either pay with a parking attendant (if any) or credit card upon exiting. Having said that, keep in mind, some parking spaces can be a bit tight so enter with caution. We took advantage of it by visiting all the holiday decors at surrounding hotels prior to exiting the following day!

It wasn't long before we realized we would not be finding street parking. We finally found a parking garage. I understand the real-estate is a premium in San Fran, but I was very glad I wasn't driving anything bigger than a RAV4, because you had to make some of the sharpest turns and corners I've ever seen in a parking garage. It was incredibly tight quarters, I'm not sure if it was designed for just Mini Coopers and Smart cars, but it was definitely a stressful nailbiter getting in and out of. The parking spots themselves were very average, and the pricing was reasonable, for being right in such a popular tourist area. When we got out of the car, I noticed some writing behind the car, and as I looked around, there was some on every spot....Every parking spot got a fortune, like a fortune cookie, which definitely cracked me up. Bonus points for the creativity!

So, in driving my friend for an appointment at that building, I stopped in front and dropped her off to minimize her walking. I then pulled in from the north entrance in finding a space on the 2nd floor. There is another entrance if you are coming from 16th St. or from the south direction. The blue disabled spaces were all occupied on the 1st floor but I found one two over from the elevators on the 2nd floor. The elevators led me to the Rutter Building so I took a right and used the walkway to make my way back to Owens. 1500 Owens is about a block and a half walk as it is diagonally across from this structure. When leaving, I paid the lady at the cashier booth who was kind and friendly, sharing a smile as I paid her and automatically handing me a receipt with my change. I forgot to check whether there is any validation for parking here. Need to ask on my next visit.
