This was my first visit to a McDonald's in Italy. I tried it only to compare to what I know well…read morein the US. At first glance, it was much elevated and premium compared to the US. Their McCafe had some really good Italian coffee and espresso. They also offered a premium level variety of baked goods and sweets that is definitely not offered in ANY McDonald's in the US (crossiants, macaroons, donuts, etc). The ordering process was fairly simple as everything in done on the screen. Once your order is placed, the service is fairly quick. I received my order in less than 5 minutes. It was interesting that this location had outdoor seating, seating on the main floor but also had ample seating on the second floor. I decided to sit in the second floor. Upon arriving to the second floor, they also had an electronic kiosk you could have placed your order with and grabbed a table mulberry ifor the wait staff to signify where to bring your order to. The food tasted fresh and way better than the variants in the US. I ordered options that I could really draw a comparison to. Filet o fish, fries and chicken nuggets. All tasted way better

July 21/2022: Dinner with Torsten & Manuela…read more This was designed to be a typical American Roadhouse & it almost hits the mark for authenticity. Something is missing but I'm not sure what precisely it is. The food was good/very good but certainly not to American BBQ standards. The flavour just wasn't there. The portion size was very competitive however. I had the meat sampler. It had steak, chicken, pork & sausage. All tasted good to very good to me. I also ordered a fully loaded potato which they nailed in flavour. One thing I really liked was the decor. They had some of the lighting on meat hooks in the dining area! This is a do-over for sure.

There are a few breweries here and there but even rarer is the bar with multiple craft beers on tap. This place, nestled in the bustling old town of Parma is one of the best places for a beer lover in town. They had 10 beers on tap, an awesome Christmas Ale, a solid NEIPA and several other offerings I did not try this trip. Add to this their excellent Tagliere (meat and cheese board) and you have a winning combo. Meat and cheese boards are the standard in Italy obviously but this place takes it from old world Italy and refines it a bit adding a nice fig jam, local honey and the typical regional offerings of Parma. I really enjoyed this place, it will be a must go on the next trip to Parma.
