"...ENJOYED LUNCH TODAY..WANT TO GO BACK..INVESTIGATE FURTHER..."
Had a nice lunch at LOST HEAVEN, Bourke Street.. today..!!
One of the fab things about Dining Vouchers is that you occasionally find a place, you are more than willing to pay full menu price for..
Yes, happened again, today.. at this place..
If not for that Scoopon Voucher for 4 - COST $75, we would never have known this place existed.. it's on Level 2, so quite hidden..
As always, we had no idea what to expect.. another great thing about these vouchers.. And, we were pleasantly surprised...
Premises are huge, attractive, contemporary, private and clean...
Wait staff are courteous, conscientious and professional...
Food was good...
Their regular menu looked authentic and massive.
We chose from the Voucher menu:
-Started with 1 dish of "Wonton in Chilli Sauce" to share [2 wontons each] - these were beautifully presented, soft, generous filling.
-Then a bowl of "Chicken & Sweet Corn Soup" each - this was pleasant, not salty, just could have done with a few drops Sesame Oil.
-We all chose the same main, due to 'heat & spice' concerns.
We ended up choosing well. The "Diced Beef Fillet with Home-made Special Sauce" was absolutely delicious - tender, juicy, beautifully spiced, bitefuls of a decent cut of beef.
-Our mains were accompanied with 1 dish "Special Fried Rice" to share - this was lovely and dry, no oily after-taste whatsoever.
My only complaint - the mounds of Mesclun Salad on the mains plates were wilted and undressed..!! Such a shame for something so simple to be overlooked entirely.
The deal included 1 glass of wine per diner - only 1 glass was required, so I asked if it was possible for the boys to have a soft-drink instead. Was a little taken aback when this request was denied.
She did, however, offer a pot of Chinese Tea in lieu of 3 glasses of wine...
It was okay, we just ordered drinks as extras - 4 Lemonades COST $16.
Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed what we had... and YES, would like to re-visit to have a try at the Regular Menu...
