We checked into the Crown Hotel pretty late, so we decided to stay close and just eat at the food court on the first level. The food court was PACKED!!! No seats open, barely any room to walk, and you could barely hear the person taking your order. It was a weekend, but considering that this is the only casino in Melbourne, I would bet that it's pretty busy every other night too.
We decided to go to Ten Miles because we were craving some Chinese food. The dumplings that are displayed all look pretty good, so we ordered a few different types, as well as minced pork noodles (炸醬麵) and sausage rice (臘味飯). The shu mai, spinach/shrimp dumplings, and the shrimp dumplings were all pretty disappointing. There wasn't much flavor, the shu mai was really dry, and just overall not memorable. The pot stickers were pretty good, though not as crispy after sitting out, as you can imagine. The rice and noodle dishes, however, were quite good! The sausage had really good flavor, the rice was good, and the noodles had a good ratio of vegetables to sauce!
We took our food up to the room to eat because it was just to crowded. This is definitely more of a take-away joint rather than a take-and-squeeze-in-food-court place. I'd also recommend the entrees rather than the dim sum options! Overall, whether you're just trying to save time and money or hit the casino quickly, this is a decent place to get a quick bite! read more
