Within a few sips it was already lukewarm. That's a basic request that should be easy to get right. The atmosphere is okay visually, but it's packed with laptop workers and there's barely any space to sit and relax. People treat this place like a co-working space and give you stares if your kid makes any noise. It's a coffee shop, not a library or an office. And the tip screen before you even taste anything? Hard pass on that concept. I carry cash and I tip based on actual experience -- that's how it should work. Service was polite but dismissive when there was a real complaint. Probably won't be back.

The staff were also helpful and friendly. They were happy to explain and chat about process of making the different kinds of Teas. I had 3 flavors of chai to try, the heritage, golden, and the spicy fire-starter as part of the Yelp week. The other time, I had Rose City, Jaggery Brown Sugar, and Chocolate. The golden version was a bit off both times, but it was nice to discuss with the staff, how to settle and fix the mixture. The Rose one was creative (they used the rose water from the Indian store that's added to foods). The spicy one was good. Some fusion ones were interesting but not strong enough for me. You can taste the cardamom, ginger, spices, turmeric, jaggery in the different concoctions with sweetness and spiciness. I like the pistachio and garlic buns, good flavor but smaller price to value scale. The store is location in a great location and improving, hope they can stabilize and make consistent versions. Specifically for the event, we received a flight of three different chai drinks. The signature drink was very robust and flavorful. The fire starter had quite a kick from the black cardamom and pepper. It is definitely not for the faint of heart as the heat accumulated. I felt like the pepper shined above the other flavors of the chai too much. The last drink was the golden chai and it was probably my least favorite. The two turmeric was overpowering. It just tasted too earthy and musky. Prices were decent. It is comparable to other drink establishments. It is expected that you pick up your drink when your name is called and that you bus your table when you are finished. It was quite a balancing act to try to walk upstairs without spilling lol. Overall a really cool joint to try out. If I'm the area I would consider coming again to try out their matcha and food bites.

The place has been Columbian Coffee Bean PDX for a few years now I think, and the first time we went was last week. My iced soy vanilla latte was so perfect and kid's iced tea was pronounced extremely yummy so we came back again today as we have a standing Saturday morning therapy appointment near here around brunch time. We got arepas and empanadas today and they were DELICIOUS. So freaking good. Just perfect ,the empanadas were like my former sister in law from Guatamala used to make. Only better. Woooah.And the arepas were amazing too. Oozing with melty cheese. The drinks were also spot on again (my sweet toothed kid got a ton of sugar this time in the iced tea as requested and was very happy) and the barista is lovely. The barista last week was too. Both are very friendly and good at their job. Support this place. Go get yourself an espresso and tasty food. It is delicious!
