I consistently have absolutely stellar service here, no matter which barista I have they are always friendly and efficient. The coffees are always flavorful and well made, and the lotus drinks are also delicious. I love the order ahead system particularly for the breakfast sandwiches. I stopped by here a few times during my weeklong stay in Beaverton. Every visit I ordered I different drink, and every drink I ordered was excellent! Whether it was coffee, Lotus energy or a chai, it was always delicious. My favorite was a winter special, the White Icicle Lotus (white chocolate, blue raspberry with blue lotus). It was incredibly sweet, but that's just what I wanted that afternoon. I also loved their Build-Your-Own Breakfast Sandwiches. The possibilities were endless, and I especially appreciated them having Sriracha! They're popular - I was never the only customer and each visit was at least 7-10 minutes, but it was worth it every time. Highly recommend! read more

Cute coffee stop located along Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. A little hard to get to if you're heading towards downtown Portland, but not bad. I'm a drip coffee fan but their seasonal drinks sounded good and the names were adorable. The baked good selection was pretty standard: muffins, bagels, cups of oats. Prices were reasonable. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by this cute coffee shop drive thru and they did not disappoint!! We decided to come back again the next day and both ladies were super caring and helpful describing their drinks to us. I ordered the strawberry bomber and it tastes just like chocolate covered strawberries w coffee! 8.5/10 would definitely recommend! My boyfriend got the s'mores frappe which he rated 8/10! Seriously some of the best coffee in Portland, and as a bonus, they are also next door to our vet, giving us alarmingly frequent opportunities to visit. Slowbomb is THE bomb. My family and I have been staying nearby for vacation, and before we made the daily trek from the bus stop to the top of a neighborhood hill, we'd stop at Slowbomb for an afternoon pick-me-up while my toddler slept in her stroller. My wife and I are addicted to the frappes (I can't get enough of the mint-chocolate chip with oat milk and non-dairy whip); my seven-year-old loves the bagel sandwiches. The shady backyard patio vibe on the side of the road is dope. Using text to order instead of an app is dope. Even the wiggly balloon dancer is dope (my toddler can't get enough of it!) This is a place where I truly feel welcomed, and the overall vibe I get is that of the rebellious weirdo with a heart of gold, not unlike Portland themself. read more

So happy to find and try this place! I ordered: -2 bagel breakfast sandwiches -Mexican Mocha less sweet -Seasonal muffin -The breakfast sandwiches were made fresh with real cheese! (I hate American "cheese") I got the onion seed bagel and it was really good, fluffy but chewy just like it should be. -Ive been craving a Mexican Mocha/Latte/anything and this did not disappoint! Heavenly at first sip. I trusted them with the sweetness level and she nailed that too. -Pumpkin Streusel is the seasonal right now and it was quite good. Not dry, not overly sweet, and just great flavor all around. Overall I had such a great experience here! They were extremely kind and friendly, they have a large, unique menu (I was tempted to order several drinks at once lol) and wonderful tasting food and coffee to deal the deal. The perfect "little coffee shop" experience and I will definitely be back. Next time I want to snag a tumbler! They're larger metal ones, not the typical small ones which I appreciate since I use them for more than just coffee. Go check them out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Before this was a green coffee hut. Wanted to try the green place but hated it so I was skeptical about coming to this one. I thought since oh it's red now it might be a different owner. So I went by with no line or wait. Nice big menu and bright colors. I normally get a Carmel frap or blended drink from Dutch so I come here and I saw it on the menu. I asked the really pretty girl if it tasted good and she gave me all of the honest things about her coffee and we had a nice convo. She was very helpful and sooo nice! I have had the pleasure of now experiencing "Slow Bomb Coffee" and I must say it has been exceptional. Portland obviously has many choices when it comes to coffee options but Slow Bomb Coffee is one of the very best. The things I find outstanding about this local and very Portland Coffee experience is the menu which provides a large variety of choices. The coffee itself is fantastic and I couldn't be happier both with their options but the taste as well. The service I have found is also amazing because there is a definite person who works and owns this business who possesses a sincere interest in providing the very best service to her customers. Here are a few of the things I like about Slowbomb: *You can text ahead your order so it's waiting for you when you arrive. *They have really fun seasonal drinks. *Higher quality syrups and sauces (from what I can taste) than other places. *Chocolate covered espresso beans are offered with your drink. I never say no! *They have food! Bagels, muffins, granola bars, oatmeal, etc. *They are generous with giving treats to my pup who absolutely adores the baristas. *Not only is the service great, but this is a small business, locally owned. Arguably the best in the genre here exists in Hood River, and it's about par with Northeast supermarket bagels or the British Columbia approximation of a Montreal bagel. It's fine, but far better than the bagel-shaped rolls of white bread you'll encounter here. 2. Bentley's is in a neighborhood dense with bagels, but light on good bagels. The names of its bagel-making neighbors are familiar to the locals, but they're also a big part of the reason why expats go out of their way to travel across town and wait in lines for bagels that might be passable replicas of those they remember. My family is from New Jersey, which has its own (albeit unlauded) bagel culture entirely, and has spent more than a decade here lodging bagel complaints. Their last straw was a place in St. John's that moved to the art museum and then to a place by the Widmer brewery that sort of made a decent bagel, but charged about $3 for the privilege of eating one. Not with cream cheese, not with lox or whitefish--$3 for the bagel itself. Sirs, you can go fuck yourselves with that level of extortion for what's essentially a Shop-Rite+ bagel. Bentley's has been much more reasonable and consistent. In a town that considers boiling a bagel an artisanal option and not, in fact, a default, Bentley's gets its chewy exterior and density down. While I'm slightly disappointed that the dough lacks some of the complexity of its back-east contemporaries--especially on a coast where the tang of a sourdough is approached with such pride--Bentley's gets the consistency of its bagels down. It comes down to sound fundamentals: Bentley's makes only eight varieties of bagels, but includes right-coast vestiges like salt and onion. More importantly, though a single bagel is still $2 (slight sticker shock from back east), that gets into the buck-and-change range quickly when you get a baker's dozen for $21 (roughly $1.60 per). I haven't gotten the cream cheese or lox here because I like making life as difficult on myself as possible. The best cream cheese I've found here is in Hillsboro. The best lox and whitefish? Astoria. So if a bagel spot is going to be out of my way anyway, I may as well start the weekend picking up a bag on 21st street, hitting 26 for cream cheese, and popping up to Astoria for a room for the weekend. After nearly a decade and a half in this state, Bentley's has helped my family shorten the bagel map a bit and given us the best option the Portland metro has to option. Before you give up on bagels entirely and start believing things like "Hmm, maybe biscuits and gravy ARE worth my time," pop into Bentley's on a quiet Sunday morning and try it for yourself.
