Simply, because I'm shocked and questioning why they are billing me $2,664.00 for a simple tooth extraction of which I have already paid them $1,271.00 see attachments. The unprofessionalism and lieing is astounding. Difficult to express how damaging this entire experience has been. I was a referral from my primary Dentist and I thought I would be in trusting caring hands "Dear Monica, I was referred to Robert J.Ryan DDS by my primary dentist David J. Bohm, DDS to receive an expert opinion on a faint small gray area of my tooth. My intent was to keep my tooth and not have it extracted because I was not in pain. However, after asking Dr. Ryan if there was any possible way to save my tooth, his response was: "Nope it's a goner". After my tooth was extracted and with my face still numb Dr. Ryan mentioned building up the area with bone. I responded: "do what you need to do" regarding my tooth extraction. That was the extent of my consultation that morning. Regarding your letter dated October 12, 2023 is a complete fabrication of events. When you called me prior to my appointment for June 6th of 2023 I asked you if that appointment was a consultation or the procedure? To which you replied: " No, that is for the procedure" My reply "I should probably meet with Dr. Ryan first since I'v never met him prior to the procedure" and you reassured me "that wouldn't be necessary and that I could speak with him for a few minutes before the procedure". I agreed to the appointment because I was referred to Prospect Periodontal & Implant Center by Dr Bohm. Your comment about me "refusing the offer of a separate consult" is false and unfounded , you never extended such an offer. Regarding paragraph 2 of your letter. You never emailed me any options to review. I checked my spam and junk folders to be certain. When I arrived you never once asked me if I had reviewed your emails, because you didn't send them. Regardless, you did not sit down with me to discuss any of these options beforehand, nor did anyone else. Paragraph 5 of your letter regarding "reached out to you on numerous occasions" only after I called several times, emailed your office including on FaceBook's messenger. When I missed your calls I would immediately call back both your office numbers several times to only receive voice mail. Considering the fact that you never answer the phone. What difference would it have made leaving a voice message on Sunday verses your regular business hours, you do not pick up and answer the phone. "Due to the unpleasant incident with you, these courtesies extended to you" What courtesies, your dishonesty. You specifically talked me out of a prior consultation when I had asked you about one. I barely spoke with you when I came in for my appointment. Your speculation that my last voice message "demonstrates a disingenuous attempt in resolving this problem" is snarky and unprofessional. If I had no desire to resolve this issue I would've never bothered to reply. Instead I desperately tried reaching out to your office via phone, email and now by post. I was not threatening to use social media, I am planning on posting my reviews to warn others of my experience. In your letter you falsify events and attack my character, yet, you would like for me to call you to "bring this to a mutually acceptable conclusion" all within the same paragraph. Whom's disingenuous here! At this point there is nothing further to discuss. In my last voice message I asked you to recalculate the charges to a self pay option since you knew from the beginning that Prospect Periodontal & Implant Center was not in my Dental insurance network and would only cover the extraction. I would be willing to pay the difference if there is a remaining balance. Regards,"

Can't say enough about how happy I landed here at this practice. Impressed by the entire staff. each have their responsibility to perform and do it to their utmost. They are informed, knowledgeable and razor focused. They explain everything. My attending dentist was Kamil Nowacki. he throughly explained everything from what needed to be done, why and how it would go. Had my confidence 100%. (not easy). I needed a number of root canals and crowns. A feature I love in particular is that all work is done in that office. Not sent elsewhere to have anything done. You are with one highly qualified dentist from beginning to end. No question too small. All questions and concerns respectfully addressed. All decisions are left squarely to you. No push on what to do. Love the whole crew. shout out to Dr. Nowacki, Barb his asst., Mary the hygienist and Jola working out logistics. A huge thank you to them for all

Twice per year I get to see the friendly faces at the office who always greet me with a warm smile and welcome. I've been there so often that all of the dental hygienists have worked on my teeth, each doing a very thorough job but the work is never complete without Dr. Mui himself having one last look over for final approval. Dr. Mui is actually very funny and does a great job making you feel comfortable with his friendly personality all the while remaining incredibly professional. Over the years, there have been minor emergencies (chipped tooth etc.) within my family and Sarah and staff have always found a way to take care of us. I can't say enough about this practice and just like the slogan, it really is Gentle Dental Care.

Matthew did his best to calm me during the procedure. The bad: Dr Colby seemed very rushed on both my visits. His bedside manner leaves a little to be desired, and while I didn't expect this to be a walk in the park I think he could have shown more empathy when I was clearly panicking during the procedure. Frankly, he didn't seem to care that I was having very hard time, I had to ask for a break not the other way around. The bad: Billing - I asked the desk for a pre-treatment coverage verification last year due to the cost of the procedure and was told "we don't do those for MetLife - they take too long" even though I was not scheduled to return for four months. On my second visit, I asked for a down payment exception and the office manager Laurie was downright hostile when I did so, barely entering the room to speak to me and shouting "25% is the best I can do!" before storming off. When I asked her to please review the coverage description that I had printed and brought with me, she quite literally refused. What a way to treat to patients. I will never return to this facility and hope the owner who has worked so hard to build his practice gets closer to his patients to observe how they are being treated by his own employees.

Better if they would close down and based on other reviews, they're not improving. They cancelled an appointment for my mom for a basic dental cleaning last year because the office decided to close for Thanksgiving earlier. This is not something you decide last minute. If you are a professional healthcare service so you already know when your office is open and closed that close to the holidays and you know that's when most people are getting their appointments in to meet all end of the year insurance benefits etc... so clearly you are NOT a professional healthcare service.... Since they cancelled she had to schedule it this year. She scheduled it for 5pm and gets a call this morning between 9-10am asking if she can come in at 11 or 2pm. The whole reason this time was chosen is because people have jobs and need to work and plan to come after work. They make special arrangements and take time off to make things like this work, especially after a holiday. My mom kindly said no, the original time works best. Then at 4pm for a 5pm appointment they call and cancel the whole appointment. The signs were all there when they called to change but then said nothing then, and then last minute call to make it seem like an "emergency". No one is niece to believe that when you called this morning. That means your staff and doctors are lazy and wanted to get home earlier because your schedule is probably not full and you want to get home early. That is NOT our problem as patients. This speaks to how lazy and unprofessional this location and probably the entire network of Aspen is. Who is going to pay for the time off and special arrangements that were needed to make this appointment? If patients get a cancellation fee last minute doctors should too. My mom mentioned this is the 2nd time they cancelled and the audacity of the person on phone is to say sorry I'm just the front desk worker?! That's is your JOB. Making note of previous cancellation and providing better customer service and making sure your office knows this is unacceptable. If you can't do anything you have to tell that to the working staff then. Just saying you're the front desk and showing no compassion is disrespectful. Apparently they are a huge scam as well because she told me they recommended coming in for a cleaning every 3 months, even though she has no issues or anything being monitored. That's a complete scam and insurance covers them every 6 months for a reason. You don't need that many in a year. Luckily my mom did not decide to go by their "reco" and waste money. I am making sure no one in my family EVER makes an appointment here again and I will be sure to tell anyone I know to be aware of Aspen.
