I had been so nervous anticipating the appt but left the office relaxed and calm. Dr. Colby is professional, informative, reassuring and gentle. I can't say enough about this practice. Highly recommend.

Matthew did his best to calm me during the procedure. The bad: Dr Colby seemed very rushed on both my visits. His bedside manner leaves a little to be desired, and while I didn't expect this to be a walk in the park I think he could have shown more empathy when I was clearly panicking during the procedure. Frankly, he didn't seem to care that I was having very hard time, I had to ask for a break not the other way around. The bad: Billing - I asked the desk for a pre-treatment coverage verification last year due to the cost of the procedure and was told "we don't do those for MetLife - they take too long" even though I was not scheduled to return for four months. On my second visit, I asked for a down payment exception and the office manager Laurie was downright hostile when I did so, barely entering the room to speak to me and shouting "25% is the best I can do!" before storming off. When I asked her to please review the coverage description that I had printed and brought with me, she quite literally refused. What a way to treat to patients. I will never return to this facility and hope the owner who has worked so hard to build his practice gets closer to his patients to observe how they are being treated by his own employees.

Dr. Khan is spectacular. He made the absolute best of a horrible situation. I could not have asked…read morefor a better service and treatment of my pulled tooth. This was during the pandemic and he seemed to take COVID-19 more seriously than other places. A year after the pandemic the place has good practices with air sanitizers, masking, and cleaner. Every visit was professional and people were in a good mood. Only note I have does not have to do with Dr. Khan. I came here because another place pulled my tooth. I refused to go back after I found out that an option was to redo the root canal. Yes, that's possible even if it's already been root canaled. The other place did not explain that an implant is a "best we can do" replacement, not an exact replacement of a real tooth with your original gum outline. Dental insurance does not cover an implant, and they made it seem like it would be more cost effective if I get it pulled. I can afford a few grand to keep all my original body parts! Point is a retreatment should be done, the chances of it failing are not 100%, a tooth pulling should not be the next option after a root canal. I still have some random light discomfort. I would have no problem getting an implant if a retreatment failed, but because of a bad second opinion, I have a fake tooth with me until am dead, or medical science figures out how to grow teeth again. To be clear, the place that pulled my tooth put me in this situation, and Dr. Khan was not involved in that. He was excellent and I have already recommended someone to him. I wish I went to him when I had the problem tooth so I could have saved it even for only a dozen more years.

DENTAL IMPLANT Required... Currently have to get an…read moreextraction and implant for an old root canal that had fractured at the root... something I had an inkling was happening - but not showing up on x-rays in 2013... so I waited per my dentist, and now there was evidence of the exact issue in 2014... when I switched to a non-employer dental plan, which did not cover implants (urgh)... Anywhoo, that is the situation, and my impetus to find an oral surgeon that would discount to Cigna rates, even if they were considered out of network. Without insurance negotiated rates, the str8 OOP (out-of-pocket) for extraction, bone graft, post, abutment and crown... was in the $3700+ range. HOW I FOUND THIS OFFICE So, there are dental discount plans supposedly allowing you to get Cigna negotiated rates... i.e. 50% off, so the ROI seemed reasonable to spend $135 for that... would be made up in this procedure and then some... and I looked for an oral surgeon locally that was supposedly accepting of this - with a good review on Yelp. OFFICE / SERVICE Now FINALLY getting to the review... THIS oral surgeon was on the list and on Yelp... so I scheduled a consult, taking my general dentist's proposed treatment plan (he is a great normal dentist, but not sure about getting an implant done from him necessarily)... had the DDS email over the x-rays as well. Walked in, and the Russian (?) receptionist or office manager was a little aggressive about upfront charges for the consult $110, and having to get better x-rays ($230 / 450? don't recall a lot of numbers were flying at me) and what insurance I had, etc. It was a little annoying... I just wanted to get an idea of pricing based on the estimate I had already gotten, with the Cigna discounts factored in, because it seemed like the fee schedule would be significantly less... not the case. Regardless, it would have been nice to just get that there were expected charges and review to see if their fee schedule would be adjusted BEFORE I came in, that is essentially what I had asked for on the phone... and they said it would be handled at the appointment. Apparently I should have insisted. 8-/ SYNOPSIS The price was essentially the same as my dentist, and I didn't like the money-grubby vibe. The place was difficult to find, behind a McDonalds in one of those older 80s brown brick commercial parks... maybe I'm being a little judgy, but the basement sectional furniture does not give the impression of a successful practice... and the attitude from the office staff definitely chased away this client.
