Saffron Paella World - Authentic Spanish Paella

Delicious Paella and Wonderful Service at the San Ramon Farmers Market…read more I picked up the meat paella from Saffron Paella World at the San Ramon Farmers Market on Saturday, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced--truly one of the best paellas I've had. Oscar, the owner, was there in person and couldn't have been friendlier. You can tell he takes real pride in his food and in connecting with customers. The freshness and quality really stand out, and it's such a treat to have this level of flavor at a local market. Highly recommend stopping by if you want fantastic food and genuinely warm service. A definite must‑try.

I really wanted this to hit, but this paella is all surface and no soul…read more The rice tastes like it was cooked in a basic seafood broth and that's pretty much where the flavor journey ends. No depth, no layers, no real saffron punch. Just yellow rice doing the bare minimum. The bigger issue is how it's assembled. You can tell nothing is cooked together. The rice goes in first, then they literally count out the seafood and place it on top so it looks loaded. Shrimp, mussels, clams all just sitting there instead of being worked through the dish. Because of that, the seafood tastes like it was boiled separately in broth with no sear, no color, no character. Paella should be cohesive. This feels more like a rice bowl with seafood garnish. It looks good in photos, but once you dig in, it's very one note and very mid. For twenty bucks, I expected more technique and more flavor. This is basic street food execution dressed up to look generous. If you're craving real paella depth, this isn't it.

They were wonderful to work with, from start to finish: very responsive to our initial inquiries, pricing was as expected, and the team showed up on time and was ready to serve food on time. They also packed up the leftovers before they left so that latecomers could still eat. My only critique was that the elotes didn't look like the pic on Yelp. But everything was delicious, and people were going back for more!

While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

From the beginning Jessica was amazing to work with. The tasting was delicious and everything was so yummy it was hard to narrow down what we wanted because we wanted it all! We had salmon and chicken at our wedding and to this day we still get told that it was some of the best food our guests have had. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff were as well. Everyone was approachable, friendly and attentive. I'm so thankful for them and for their efforts to make our day so memorable!

It was such a meaningful milestone event, and their team helped make it truly special. Jessica, the Executive Sales Manager, was fantastic from start to finish -- communicative, accommodating, and incredibly supportive throughout the planning process. She also reassured me that all the food was gluten free (except the rolls) and had vegan/vegetarian options available. On the day of the event, Vicky, Maria, Olivia, Jordyn, Corey, Nitish, Ellie, and Nick were absolutely exceptional. Everything was handled seamlessly and professionally. Their calm, steady presence made such a difference. They checked in at just the right times (never intrusive and always helpful), and anticipated needs before we even had to ask. We received so much positive feedback about both the food and the service; our guests were very impressed. At the end of the event, I hadn't yet had a chance to eat, and the team was so kind and patient, making sure I was taken care of even while they were clearing up (ahead of schedule, so we had no fear of getting close to the "hard stop" time at our event space). That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes about their professionalism and care. I am so grateful to On the Vine Catering and the incredible team for helping us celebrate our employees. I would highly recommend them for any event where quality, professionalism, and genuine care matter. Thank you so much!

We had it Sunday at the farmers market and again Thursday at the farmers market; it was that good! It's simple, not overdone. Which is perfect. Fresh ahi, sesame, avocado, onion, sauce. Over rice, or your choice of base. It's a little pricey but it is 100% worth it. When comparing to other poke places around, it's a little higher but the quality smacks those in the face, so it makes sense. The fish is so fresh tasting, melts in your mouth. Highly, highly recommend. So nice to have a nice light, refreshing food truck option in lieu of all the fried stuff. Plus, the guy who runs the truck is so friendly. So nice. Reminds me so much of being in Hawaii and getting that ohana treatment. The truck looks clean and well taken care of which makes me feel good about the cleanliness standards he holds. You won't be disappointed; check it out!

You also have to pay more just to get rice with your fish (if ordering a "poke boat") which feels like a rip off in my opinion. Ahi tuna ($14 for 1/2 lb) itself is solid and good quality for what it is in this area. The sauce is described as a sesame soy sauce with spicy mayo. It's on the sweeter with some savoriness, light on the sesame, and not so much salty. I do like the flavors, but the poke isn't marinated long enough for them to seep through the whole fish chunks. Has a very slight kick from the chili flakes.
