Set up

It's been a while since I was here. The prices have skyrocketed compared to other Mexican spots in the area. Ordered the John's special which is a lot of good but planning on dinner with it as well. Fernando is still a server and the one I would always ask for. Service was quite slow or at least for me. I watched others order after me and get their food before me. The set up is outstanding as is the green hot sauce. Flavors were spot on today. Wasn't very many people there and had Hispanic music playing so the ambiance was good. Just way too much for lunch.

Busy lunch spot. I was disappointed but I ordered a burrito and usually get ground beef. I think I said yes when he repeated the order. I got shredded beef and would be just fine but was a little too red for me. I just ate the rice n beans along with my cooked onions I ordered and all good. My real complaint is mopping floor with strong smell, bleach or something! While I'm eating, is not what I want to smell and even see. I would understand if something was spilled but a larger area was done with customers sitting near. I can't be the only customer that this has bothered! Food and service is usually really good. We will be back just hope mopping can wait!

Chicken enchiladas

Food was great, nice and hot and came out quickly, drinks never went empty and left with full bellies. Highly recommend for great Tex mex with an authentic feel

Johns special front, and chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce back.

I was disappointed when I had dinner here. I was looking forward to the mexican food in OK as compare to my home state of GA.

Fast and delicious! Salsa is great without noticeable onions. I'll come back so much! So worth it!

Mediocre at best - broken chips, watery refried beans and club store purchased flour tortillas. Ugh...

There is no reason this should not have 5 stars. This is the BEST Mexican food in the Oklahoma City metro.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant near Tinker AFB. Always good service and fresh food. The staff treats us like family.

Service was good but the food was okay. A little bland for mexican food in my opinion.

Staff was very welcoming and the Mexican decorations add to the enjoyment of your meal. I got an agua de jamaica with quesabirria tacos. Delicious!!! This is a definite much try spot and one you'll return too.

It was very busy when we walked in but there was no wait. We were thankfully seated immediately and started off with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy, but the salsa was mediocre. The tomatoes tasted canned. While I can totally get the efficiency behind using canned tomatoes for a busy restaurant, the taste is not preferred. The kids chicken quesadilla plate was a good amount of food! I just wish the quesadilla was already sliced as it was for our 3 year old. The chicken was also bland. Again, the portions were great. My son ordered the Burrito La Herencia with ground beef and this was seasoned well. Again, great portions of beans, rice & main dish. No complaints with this one! My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. We were sat listening to the chatter of all the different customers and kitchen noises. We did have the option of booth or table AND they have boosters seats/ high chairs upon request.

The gentleman…read moreworking the counter (I wish I could remember his name) was super friendly and made ordering easy. I ordered the two-taco plate with rice and beans, along with a shrimp taco and a steak taco. Everything was really good! The rice and beans were better than I expected--I especially enjoyed the beans. The tacos were fresh and flavorful, and I'd definitely order them again. We also ordered the chips and queso. The chips are one of my favorite parts--they're always fresh, thin, and have that delicious seasoning dusted on them. I'm not even sure what the seasoning is, but it's so good! The queso wasn't anything over-the-top fancy, but honestly, that's what I liked about it. It reminded me of homemade Rotel queso, which gave it a really nostalgic, comforting taste. The sweet tea was great too! Overall, the food was fresh, the service was friendly, and we left happy. We'll definitely be back!

I emailed and had some conversations about them with the manager last year. The crispy ground beef taco shells are chewy and ground beef is barely tepid, not hot at all. Manager assured us this problem would be taken care of up, but it had not so we stopped coming. We hadn't been in several months and decided today on October 15 at 3:20 to give it another try and see if things have improved. The taco shells were barely edible just cold and chewy. They weren't hot and crispy at all. The meat again was not warm and for the first time ever our refried beans were barely warm. Disappointed that the such a simple fix cannot get fixed!
