Excellent service and excellent food both me and my partner were happy. Our first time won't be the last!

I know I've lived in Chicago for more than a decade now, all told, but I'd never had a jibarrito and frankly the idea sounded a little implausible. ("Yes, Brain, but why would somebody make a sandwich out of plantains?") But that is what they are famous for, I was nearby, and I figured I would try it. It's good! Just like you'd hope, the fried plantain slices are substantial enough to hold the meat and fillings without getting soggy, yet soft enough to make the sandwich reasonably tractable. I would have liked less mayo, but I understand that it's highly traditional. And somehow the slices weren't too greasy either. I still don't entirely *understand* it, but I would eat one again. read more

The jibarito comes with rice and mayo ketchup. It took about 15 minutes to get my food. When I got the food, it wasn't hot. The steak in the sandwich was the least amount of steak they could have put in and on top of that, they gave me mostly fat. It was a chewy letdown. I am more than willing to try them again but will not try their carne asada jibarito. The mayo ketchup was also very spicy so I don't think it's a traditional, that is something to watch out for.... read more

We came here because my husband wanted lechon and were blown away! We were very impressed by the flavor of the table salsas. His lechon was delicious, very tender. I had chicken enchiladas, and the sauce was so flavorful. Best enchiladas I've ever had. You can tell they take time to season when cooking. The lechon is made daily. The lechon jibarito, ground beef relleno de papas, and steak tacos are VERY good. But, a few days ago, me and my family decided to dine in for the first time(we usually take out). ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Our waitress, an older petite woman, had the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. While taking our order, she's talking and laughing with people at another table (I'm assuming she knew them) and yelling out to the cooks, literally talking over me while I'm telling her my order. I'm going on with my family's order, and she cuts me off and rudely tells me to stop talking and to wait for her. Keep in mind, she's talking to another table, that's why she didn't want me to keep going with my family's order. I was IN SHOCK. She comes with our food and of course messed up our order (gave us more tacos than we asked for and an extra drink) because she was too busy talking with others while my family placed our order. All of our food was very good, but the steak jibarito could definitely use more steak. It was super skimpy. We go to pay, and once we left, we noticed she charged us for the extra tacos and drink that she mistakenly gave to us, which we gave back to her the moment she gave it to us. I will never go back after this experience, I won't even order out anymore after being charged extra due to her mistake. read more

Place is so good! Best Mexican burrito I've had! They add fajitas (bell pepper and onion) and they toast the tortilla really nicely too! It becomes all flaky. I don't consume dairy, meat or eggs so the fact that I can get a tasty burrito here and am horchata made without milk is great! If you can't/don't consume milk either but want the coffee horchata make sure you say no whipped cream because it does come with it. read more

Really good tacos the Al pastor tacos are on point can't speak for the rest of the menu but the Mexican portion is worth the money.

This is the best Jibarito I've tasted!! The portions are big and prices are great! The agua de piña was superb. This is fairly a new restaurant that recently opened up I believe. It's across the street from the World's Laurgest Laundrymat in Berwyn,IL. This is not your typical small restaurant. The inside is very clean, gives you a comfortable feeling. The food is delicious. So far I've tried the gorditas, burritos and the Jibaritos. All have a great flavor. Meats are seasoned well, rice is nice and moist, not salty, and most important not dry or hard. You get the feeling everything is made to order, they just don't have the food sitting there like at other places. I would highly recommend you try this place out. It's really good, they have Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban food. So whatever your crave is, they will meet or exceed your expectations. The people working here are also really friendly. So my review is based on the shitty service I received. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and it looked like soup, also it was supposed to come with white rice and salad which was never brought to my table but anyway, so I asked the waitress why it looked so watery and she very rudely said it's fresh and there's nothing wrong with it, so I explained to her that the consistency was not how it was supposed to be. I asked to trade it for something else and she said no ,and that I still had to pay for the shrimp cocktail at this point she seems very pissed off! So I go to the register and tell her to charge me for my fiancé's plate and our drinks but I refused to pay for the shrimp cocktail that I hadn't touched,so now she's to the point where's she's so angry that she's literally shaking and insisting that I pay for it ! A man comes from the back and calmly says it's fine and not to charge me for it , she snatch's my card and tossed the pen for me to sign. I will not return here simply because of the bad customer service I got from the waitress. read more
