TL;DR: Great hole in the wall Mexican lunch spot. This storefront is kind of a running joke in my family for how many failed coffee shops have passed through it, so we were pretty surprised when we saw it had turned into a Mexican Restaurant. I went there for lunch due to curiousity, Tacoma in my opinion isn't exactly overflowing with good Mexican lunch options. I ordered a very basic lunch: 4 street tacos, 2 chorizo and 2 al pastor, with a glass of water. The 4 tacos ran me ~$7.70 post tax paying with cash, the register said there is a surcharge if paying with card so keep that in mind. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food. The tacos al pastor in particular were the best I've had in a long time. I wasn't as impressed with the chorizo, but the red salsa they give you is fantastic and more than made up for any disappointment on that end. As far as the decor goes, I'm pretty sure that the furniture is just reappropriated from the last coffee shop to use this location. The good thing is, it's nice furniture, and a nice big space to eat in. All in all though, it's definitely more the kind of place I would go for lunch than the kind of place I would go for an evening out on the town. read more

This place is waaaaay overpriced. It was $29 for two small burritos. They nickel and dime you for everything. They charged an extra 26 cents per meal because it was take out. I went yesterday to this mexican place to get some tacos & first off let me just say they we're WAY overpriced. I got 6 tacos for $17. Yup $17. Not to mention they tasted so flavorless, the tortilla wasn't cooked thoroughly, they charge extra for carne asada, which would have been nice to know before we ordered but yet she did not tell us nor did the website mentioned that. I was HIGHLY disappointed in this, I guess I would've been fine with the price if they were actually good but they tasted terrible.. and this is coming from 2 other people who tasted it not just myself. We got some door dash from Los Tapatios and was not impressed. My husband had the chili relleno and I had a veggie burrito with rice and beans. He said his was fine but not great. My burrito had what appeared to be a vegetable medley in it. This included broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and a ton of zucchini. I should have looked into the specific ingredients but assumed they would be onions and peppers. After I picked the veggies out, the burrito was alright. I also got rice and beans. The beans were fine but the rice had a weird taste. Not sure if we will give it another go but I would not recommend the veggie burrito unless you love vegetable medley. read more

Been wanting to try this spot for awhile and I was craving Mexican today. Stopped in and got 4 street tacos (2chicken 2beef) and chicken Enchiladas plate. Took about 10-15 mins and my food was ready! The tacos had a good amount of meat and a lovely green sauce on them not sure what exactly it's made with but it's good! My chicken enchiladas were tasty too! I only wish they were just a bit bigger but besides that all the food was great I definitely want to go back and try some more stuff on the menu. Oh and the hot sauces and salsa were bomb! read more

They charge too much for what the food is, one of those places where staff seems to have a weird/rude attitude sometimes.

Their tacos definitely LACKED FLAVOR. We didn't even finish eating them. They were THAT BLAN. We also didn't like their salsas or the fact that you can't order just 1 or 2 of any taco. Tacos have to be ordered in 3s. We were also CHARGED A FEE for our TO-GO ORDER. FLAVOR WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. read more

I had high hopes for place. Finally! A decent taco place near UP. I ordered the carne asada burrito. I was a little surprised to see it in a to-go container and not wrapped in foil. Helps retain its shape better IMO. Upon opening they had tossed some lettuce and some tomato in there as garnish and left a sad and limp looking burrito. Very disappointed! I drive by this place every day and was super excited to try it! We ordered multiple items off the menu, the menu was incorrect online so had to order something different. Food was cold (we live just down the street), we did not receive items ordered of which we had paid for. They charge .50 per item for takeout and charge .50 cents if you pay with a card.
