From the outside I always wondered how it was finally made it in and was shocked at how good the chicken quesadilla was! Every bite had flavor, it tasted fresh, and ordered in person and didn't wait long. Friendly cashier, definitely will be back! read more

I love the food here. It's more of a take and go place. But there are a few tables if you want to eat in.

Stumbled on this little gem today. Amazing customer service, variety of food, and it's delicious. If you're in the mood for tacos I highly recommend you put this spot on your list. (Coming from a taco snob) read more

Los Tapatios - Street Tacos (6) - Beer Bar Near Me - Fircrest, Washington

I have been looking for a good spot for street tacos in Tacoma and gave this spot a try. Walked in, went to the counter, and placed my order. Man hands me a menu and told me to "ignore the prices, that he would give me a deal." Ordered 4 carne asada street tacos and horchata to drink. Went to pay with a credit card and was told if I paid cash I would get a discount. I paid cash and the horchata was $4 and the tacos $12. Tacos were really small, should have ordered more. I liked the fresh tortillas and the tacos were good. I wish they had a salsa bar inside. They handled me a tiny cup of red sauce and one of green sauce. As I polished off my first taco the man stopped by my table with a habanero sauce that I wish I had from the start. That salsa was REALLY GOOD! This place was a decent casual spot for good tacos. I still am looking for something better but it was a good option. read more

I ordered the tacos al pastor. They were fine, edible and filling, but not the best tacos I've had by far. The meat was a little dry and not as flavorful as I had hoped. I also wish there was more cilantro. I got mine to go and the wait was also longer than other restaurants. I probably won't eat here again unless there are no better options available. read more

Upon walking in, there's no one there to greet you... then somebody just popped out from the back comes up to you. Speak to you to see if you speak Spanish and when you don't speak Spanish, they just walk away from you and you wait for another five minutes for somebody else to come out who can speak to you.... I paid nine dollars for two of the smallest tacos I've ever gotten from a taco spot, this is absolutely ridiculous. The prices here are outrageous to say the least why are you charging $17 for a burrito??? Not only that, they have a 3.7% discount when you pay cash but then again they turn around and CHARGE YOU FOR YOUR TO GO ORDER, what do you think that charges? If you guessed that same 3.7% discount they gave you for paying cash, you would be absolutely correct..... I will never eat this establishment again. read more

We found our new go-to for Mexican here after trying a few other places. Everything was SO good.

After making a big pricing purchase(I bought my latest car the day I came here) and the nervousness and stress of the whole procedure is behind me I do one of two things. I realize I am starving and need to eat or I want to run to craft beer land. In this case I was very hungry and this place sounded great. And I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I got their Las Vegas tacos with asada and loved the additional filling that went with it like the caramelized onions and the queso. Steve had an excellent burrito. Great tasting tacos and very good service. Parking is relatively easy which is always a good thing and makes the whole experience here convenient after a nerve wracking afternoon. Would love to get a burrito for myself sometime and try out their nachos! read more

It has been a long time since I had authentic South American food and this is the first one I tried since. We tried the street tacos, and one other dish. They were delicious! I look forward to trying more from Los Tapatios. read more

Three enchiladas combo w three diff sauces was so good! Low key atmosphere, friendly staff. We will be back!

I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Ordered a Torta Mexicana and everything was perfection. The Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Music was at the perfect volume, cleanliness of the restaurant was great. I rate Los Tapatios a 10/10. read more

One bite and I knew I'd found my fav Mexican eats. I had the two tacos with beans and rice. Only $6. Ladies who want delicious food without having to take home 1/2 to 3/4. Perfect- Ladies with larger appetite and Men who want more order the larger size. 2 tacos, beans and rice means two street size tacos, 1/2 rice and 1/2 cup beans. Order the filling and toppings you like. I had chicken that was seasoned to perfection. I took all the toppings squeezed on the lime. Delicious! Perfect harmony. Never thought I'd write that. The refried beans were also well done, no lard taste or being dried out. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Drinks: Coke products dispenser, bottled (glass) coke, and Mexican soda in bottle. We LOVE coming to Los Tapatios! We come in almost every Tuesday because the food is amazing! It's always fresh, the staff is so sooo friendly (they even remember what we all order). It's a clean and laid back atmosphere and to top it off, they are QUICK to get your food to you. Chips and salsa are brought to your table when you dine in. I've never had a dish that wasn't delicious. We'll continue coming back for our Taco Tuesdays! read more

Love having this place so close. I love street tacos and theirs are great. I was able to order and then walk in for a pickup. I forgot to take a photo, but both the chicken and steak tacos are yummy. They come with beans and rice. There's even an avocado sauce that is really good. My husband hates avocados, but loves their sauce. So remember Taco Tuesday and order out from Los Tapatios during this shelter in place. Excited to be able to dine in at some point. read more

Warning for MSG. I woke up with a very bad headache after eating here for dinner (it was delicious). I reached out the next day, and asked if they use it. Someone said that monosodium glutamate is listed in their chicken base ingredients, and that they use in the rice (but I suspect it's in most things chicken etc?). I had spent $40 bucks on two entrées. Feeling bummed that I was having to waste my leftovers--I took two bites of JUST the refried beans... and started to get a headache again an hour later. Their food tastes good--BUT!...if you're sensitive to MSG, do not eat here. read more

Came here for the first time and I will definitely go back to try other menu items! I got the Carne Asada Nachos. A bit expensive for the amount you get. I know I know, it's steak, but still. I'd pay the 11$ if it was layered, but everything is just piled on top. Smaller place, only 5-6 tables, bar tables and seats. Walk in cooler in the back just...chillin...for everyone to see..(see what I did there?) Just opened and still getting their feet wet I suppose. No real identity yet it feels like. The guacamole looked fresh and homemade and the seasoned Asada was on point. Looks like they have some kids eat free specials also on certain nights! Good central location between Tacoma, Fircrest and U.P. You should give it a try! read more

This is a weekly stop for our family. Usually get street tacos and enchiladas. Always great service and excellent food!

Burrito Rancheros was very good!!! Love the homemade sauce! It was so good and the fresh avocado and pickled onion was just an added touch. The service was good too. The server took out to go order and was very friendly and knowledgeable on all menu items. Being from Vegas it is always nice to find good Customer Service here in WA. read more

I'll start with the star I took away- the girl at the counter needs to check her attitude. I came on a Saturday evening during the peak dinner hour. There were only 2 people standing there waiting for their orders. When my total came up, I was surprised to see a bunch of $.25 charges so I asked her what that was about. Her response came with instant sass (she must get asked a lot) that it's for each to-go container. I responded with a comment that I think that's weird, especially given Covid and we have no choice but to order to-go. As I'm pulling out my card, she rudely asked me if I still want my order. Yes, I just think it's weird. She told me food would take about 15-20 minutes. I informed her that I was going to wait in my vehicle with my waiting children... which she didn't acknowledge. But whatever. I came back in at the 15 minute point. Sat there for 20 MORE minutes, and then asked if my food was almost ready. She snapped at me that they were super busy (which yes, they were getting more walk ins and more door dashes as I stood there but that is no need for nastiness). I was appalled at her rudeness. She told me it would take less than half of the time that it was taking, and I had kids waiting in the car. If she would've quoted me 30-45 minutes, I wouldn't be annoyed that my food took 40 minutes. At this point, the chef interjected and was polite and apologizing that it was busy and they were trying. He pointed out that they were halfway through currently making my order. I think he needs to give his cashier some lessons on customer service! Now, why am I still giving 4 stars? Because the meat was fantastic! We tried all 5 meats, 4 types in the Street Tacos and carnitas on the fries. I don't even know if I can pick a fave! (Although the AL Pastor could use more than 1 small chunk of pineapple... even 3 or 4 of the size they use would make take the flavor to the top!) I really loved their street tacos... grateful that they were not skimpy on the meat in them! I will probably come here again in hopes of better customer service read more

We just ordered lunch for pick-up from here today and I am so happy. Ordering was easy and it was practically ready when I got there. I got the al pastor Las Vegas tacos with a side of rice and beans. The sides were pretty standard but those tacos... My Texan heart could cry. It's been tricky to find a taqueria with food that reminds me of home. Our kiddo ate both of his carne asada tacos and all the sides so I think he's a fan, too. We can't wait to come back and try their other items! read more

We went on a whim. It is close to our home. We both ordered ground beef nachos and grandson order crispy ground beef taco child plate. The gentleman at the register was so friendly and helpful. Offered the grandson french fries instead of rice and beans. He was thrilled. The nachos were loaded with ground beef, cheese, a dip of sour cream and a dip of guacamole. I had jalapenos added to mine. It was good food and quick. The salsas were also good. Next time I go I plan to try the relleno! read more

I was craving for tacos and wanted to try this place cause it's near my home. I was impressed by the food. I ordered 4 asada tacos, 2 carnitas tacos and a side of rice and beans. The meat was juicy and the toppings were fresh and just about the right amount. The corn tortillas tasted like they just made them when I ordered (I assume they're home made). My wife ordered the burrito with asada. We paid an extra $1 for the asada but they loaded the burrito with so much meat. However the burrito was full of the other toppings that the meat wasn't overwhelming. The tortilla was just as good as they were for the tacos. The only negative comment I could say is that it took 25 min for my order. However, the people who work there are very nice and I do love those tacos. Overall I will be going to this place again. read more

Decent frachos (french fries + nachos) aka carne asada fries. Portion could be better. Al Pastor tacos are a bit dry. I enjoyed the carne asada tacos though. I didn't notice the additional charge for take out and using a credit card but I will update my review once I go back. read more

Great food that is always consistent. Very friendly and nice staff. Great location. The torta and nachos are great.

Coming from Southern California (LA/OC Area), we've been on a hunt for an authentic Mexican taco place which is very hard to find in Washington since we were so use to these places being behind our backyard. Noticed this place had a sign of "coming soon" and honestly, soon wasn't coming soon enough. Been dying to try this place and it finally opened, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Thank you for keeping it authentic! The tacos are amazing and I love the fact that the corn tortillas are thin so that you're not just filling your stomach with tortillas. We will definitely be coming back to try the rest. The only thing negative I have to say is that, it's right around the corner from our house.. so..I guess I'll be gaining weight. Haha! read more

We go to allot of Mexican restaurants, large and small. This is a small one that I expected the standard fair. First I was quite surprised to see one of my favorite dishes on the small menu: chili rellenos. At this small place? I took a chance and I'm glad I did:SURPRISE! It one of the best I've ever had. I was flabbergasted, but wonderfully so. My partner had the carne asada taco dish AND again, totally awesomely good. Wow. I can't but recommend this place enough. I'd easily would give it 5 Stars, but I need another (well many) visit. Highly recommended. (as an aside it seems to be a family affair. Dad was cooking, Mom and older son doing prep, and the young daughter waiting tables). A new place I hope succeeds and continually offers up great food. read more

Living nearby, my husband and I were excited to finally see this place open for business tonight! We started with chips and salsa as an appetizer, which were delicious. For entrees, my husband ordered the Torta Tapatia and I, the veggie burrito. The veggie burrito offered a good variety of veggies that were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The Torta Tapatia was flavorful and smothered in a delicious roasted red pepper crema. Good portion sizes and prices! I anticipate this taquería to quickly become one of our regular spots. read more

It's always nice to have a community taco spot. This is a great place if you only have an hour to meet friends catch up and grab some tacos and visit. The carne Assad fries are a great share plate. All the street tacos are simple and delicious. I like the Al pastor street taco but I wish they had a little more pineapple chopped up on them. When eating the dish "tacos los Tapatios", it's like eating a extremely juicy fajita taco. They have great flavor and gooey cheese. Get the guacamole This has the potential to become a staple in our community. We did have a order mix up but the staff was on it and went above and beyond to correct it. I hope they take the foundation they are building and add a few more inventive dishes to round out their menu. read more
