It has been posted up in front of the Marathon gas station on old 74 for a bit now. If you were driving by you might miss it, but the buzz surrounding it was so much so, that I just had to try them out. The first time I stopped by was around 3pm on my way home and several other people were also in line. The very kind owner instantly greeted me and explained what they had that day. He took my order and they got to work. The people already waiting raved about the place and were super friendly. Everyone, including the staff, chatted and it made the wait go by quick. I ordered the chicken tacos, and the carnitas tacos. The owner had recommended just 2, but I had been accustomed to quite small tacos at other places so I got 4. Boy was he right, they were so packed full of meat that I could barely finish two! The other two made a great second meal at a later time! The corn tortillas were delicious and very authentic. Each succulent and very flavorful meat was topped with onions, cilantro and your choice of green, red, or hot sauce or all of the above. For my first time the owner recommended I try each separately with the hot sauce on the side. Also included was fresh lime and a grilled poblano pepper. Everything was amazing and I can confidently say this is the best authentic tacos I have ever had, anywhere. I cant say I have a favorite sauce because they each have sensational flavor, including the hot sauce. One try and I was hooked. I started following them on Facebook to catch certain days where they had special tacos, such as steak (which cost a tiny bit more due to the quality of the steak meat). The steak was just as amazing. They also serve breakfast. The second time I visited I did not know the extra cost until I received my order. Since it is cash only, I did not have enough. A kind person in line, who also shared the addiction to this spot, gifted me the $2 I was short. I hope to pay this forward in the future at another visit to my magical friendly neighborhood taco dealer! For quesadilla, I love the chorizo. My fiancée likes to get one of each. Steak, chicken and chorizo. His favorite sauce is the chipotle. Smoky and have a good kick. They have tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos, quesadillas, and more. We started out with three tacos each; I got one chicken, one steak, and one chorizo while my fiancee got two chicken and one chorizo. They have three different sauces you can use too; one hot, one mild tomatillo, and one smoky chipotle. All three are fantastic, especially the chipotle. Highly recommend that one on the steak. We became fans on this taco truck instantly. So much that we split a chicken quesadilla after we finished our tacos. Very delicious! They accept cash and credit cards, but there is a small service fee for card purchases, so cash is definitely preffered. I sent a fb message before heading out to make sure he'd be there, since this is corona season and I don't know what kind of chances he's taking. Turns out, there's not much "social distancing" being practiced with the taco truck. No one was hanging out right there, but it was basically the same as any other taco transaction - you roll up, place an order, hand over the cash (cash only business), keep it moving. I ordered a steak burrito with salsa verde and extra beans instead of rice. He chucked all the toppings on the flat top for a few minutes, rolled it up in a monster, and dropped it under the press to get a nice sear on the shell. That, to me, is an essential next step. I don't want a soggy, fall to pieces, burrito. El Taco Bus delivered a perfect burrito. Brought it home and threw it on a bed of spinach and lettuce, topped it with the salsa, and sliced it open. There's a layer of delicious melty cheese, thick pieces of juicy steak, and plenty of cilantro and onions for flavor. The salsa verde was an excellent choice as well, it brought the full blast of onion and cilantro in every bite. Well worth the stop!
