Taco a la Carte with ground beef
Richard Walton C.

I've been living very near Mooresville going on five years now and I've never tried this place before. As I was sitting at the traffic light one day for that shopping center, I said to myself, it's time to try them. So today my sister and I decided to check them out. I was simply amazed at the size of their dining room area. Our table number was 31 but there are more tables and booths than that number. My sister says this place has a lot of cars outside at dinner time especially on weekends. There is an over abundance of artwork to see. All of the booth backs have murals, each chair looks unique but maybe some views are repeated. The wall murals fill the entire wall areas and are a conversational feature. We had super quick service from start to finish as with most Mexican restaurants. We were seated immediately, our chips & salsa was brought right out, and our drink order promptly taken with our food order taken right behind that. Our food was delivered from the kitchen in record time. We also had multiple check-ins from our server. I ordered the lunch Enchilada with ground beef. It comes with rice & beans. I also ordered a Taco a la Carte with ground beef. She ordered a ground beef Taco Salad. She said her salad had too much beef for her and she wished there was more lettuce. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my food.

Customer service: slander against a victim of their discrimination.

This restaurant is NOT child friendly and is very deceitful. We visited for lunch on Wednesday 8/5/20 just before 11am. As my daughter attempted to calm my grandson from an autistic meltdown in their bathroom stall a staff member knocked on the stall door and told my daughter "he can do that at home, can't do that here." . Even when my daughter explained that he was autistic she repeated that he can do that at home, can't do that here. My daughter asked, "Are you asking us to leave because he is having an autistic meltdown?" She replied, "He can do that at home." We then proceeded to leave but stopped to tell the hostess that we were kicked out because he was having an autistic meltdown their reply was simple, "OK". After getting lunch for my grandsons we went home then called the restaurant and asked for the manager, was told that he was not in and to call back tomorrow. The person that answered refused to give me the managers name and had a full conversation in Spanish with someone there. She finally advised the managers name after I asked her why she was being so deceitful and withholding the managers name. She asked why I needed the managers name. I explained that it is customary to know someone's name when you call and ask for them. When called out for the discrimination the staff member lied, she initially said she didn't ask us to leave then later accused my daughter of hitting my grandson and she was only concerned for the boy (who she made leave with his mom in addition to saying he could do that at home, can't do that here.) The owner was made aware as he was contacted at the KY Ave location via telephone immediately after the call to the Mooresville location. He apologized said it did not represent Los Patios and offered me a gift card. I declined the gift card and requested education of his staff as well as an apology to my daughter. He asked me to text him what happened and would get back to me. That was yesterday around 1pm. He has not responded to me as of 10:35pm on Thursday 8/6/20 but according to his girlfriend he told her about it last night when he shared the story of her hitting him and having it on video. If this restaurant has video of anything it would be of our family being discriminated.

I enjoyed my lunch here. The place shares a large parking lot with several other businesses north of the local Kroger, so it was easy to find a spot. The restaurant is huge! Very large dining area with lots of spacing between tables (though the booths seem a little bit crammed together). The interior is the bright and festive collection of images that makes it feel like there is a party going on. I entered in the door they suggested and then walked across an expanse to where the cashier/check in stand was. (Seems like they should have the closest door be the entrance, but maybe they get too cold during the winter.) We then walked back towards the entrance to get a menu. (Seems like those could be kept by the cashier.) Anyway, I was seated in one of the booths where I squeezed in. Before long, I knew what I wanted to order and my waitress arrived. She soon returned with a bowl of chips and salsa. I really appreciate that the salsa was in a large bowl so that the large chips could actually scoop the salsa without being broken. (I wish other places would realize this.) The salsa was mild in flavor and had nice chunks of tomato. The chips looked as though they were either made in house or at least had been heated before serving. Nice and crisp. Before I finished my chips, my lunch sized Chimichanga arrived with an array of toppings including a white sauce, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Sides were rice and beans. The portion of the chimi was fine for lunch. Roughly 6-7" in length without huge folds of flour tortilla on the ends. I got a lot of diced steak from one end to the other as I ate. Good flavor, but without much heat. They do have hot sauce on each table for those who like it. Seasoning was tastefully done without overwhelming the flavors of the ingredients. I finished quite quickly and my waitress had left the floor, but I was able to get the attention of one other waiter and he went back to get her. So, good teamwork to keep my wait short. I paid at the checkout cashier by the front and was soon on my way. Note that they do have a 3-way liquor license and there is a bar at the rear of the restaurant. However, I didn't try any of their cocktails/frozen drinks. Review #3435

Eh...not as good as the one up north of Decuatur, but it's at least better than the other Mexican restaurant in town! The food here needs some more seasoning, but at least it is fresh, hot, and you can actually tell what you're eating. The first time we came in here, the straws were too short for their huge drink cups (and I do love me some huge drink cups!), and I mentioned it to our server who said she would pass on the message to the management. The second time we came in, about a week later, LONGER STRAWS! Woo-hoo! Service can be a little hit or miss if they're busy, but everyone we have encountered has been friendly and happily put up with my poor attempts at Spanglish. We will be back!

We can here to try it out. Was so good. We usually eat at el rodeo in town, but not anymore. Food was excellent. Prices were great. And my margaritas were fresh and strong! We had great service and our surroundings were clean. We will be coming again!

NOBODY BUSSED BAR THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE

Poor service and bland food ruined this place. There are other Mexican places in town you can go instead.

Sad that you ask a child of special needs leave. Hopefully one day GOD doesn't put that on your plate to eat.

Iguana’s Mexican Restaurant - Really tasty chips and salsa

Iguana’s Mexican Restaurant

A friend of ours told us about iguanas Mexican restaurant in Moorseville so the wife and I decided…read moreto try it today. It's in a strip mall cute little place. We walked in and we're promptly seated. The menu was huge. The chips and salsa were delicious. I ask to try the tomatillos Sauce, it was very tasty and had a kick to it, made my nose run. We decided to split the shrimp tacos. They were huge with lots of cilantro, avocado, and what tasted almost like Yum Yum sauce when you bid into it it had a smoky flavor. We couldn't figure it out until the wife said the huge shrimp were bacon wrapped. It's pretty tasty. We will be going back.

I had the quesobirra tacos. The meat had minimal fat and the taco was fried to perfection. Be warned that it is A LOT of food. The taco platter comes with three hefty tacos, plus rice and beans. We also tried the chipotle dip, which was queso dip plus chipotle sauce. It was very good, if a bit thin. It would be great if they could add some thickener so that it stayed on the chips. There is an extensive margarita list and you can order them on the rocks or frozen. The hubby ordered a blackberry margarita and it came with real blackberries. It wasn't overly sweet and he had the option of a plain, sugar, or salt rim. Service is friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable. There are ample spots in the parking lot. While the ambiance is just a view of the parking lot, they do have several outdoor tables.
