I've been there a half a dozen times or more in the previous year and every time has been just OK My biggest gripe is the service. There seems to be a bit of a training issue. Many times the servers do not know the menu, the drinks they offer, or some of the options like daily special. There may be great servers there, I may not have been lucky enough to be seated in their section. The lack of experience or work ethic in many of their servers really are a strike against the level of service. They're hoping to provide. It seemed as if many of the servers put in the minimum. They come get your order, either they drop it off or a coworker does. A little bit later if they come and say hey, how is everything. And then you get the check. Every time we've gone there, it's difficult to get a refill. I'm not talking booze. I'm talking soda or iced tea even water. If you don't get a refill when they come to check in you're not going to. The food does not live up to the dollar amount attached to it on the menu. It is just your average food at an elevated price. I get that everywhere is expensive these days but this place is even higher It is an interesting building with a very nice history. However, the decor is sparse. There is a series of plain tables with generic type chairs on half of the floor. There's some couches that felt a tad low for the tables. Plus there's not a lot to absorb the sound. The hard concrete floors, walls and windows make sound bounce around, so even if they are moderately busy, it can be very difficult to hear your dining companions. The view is great. How could you not like a water view. The round windows of the building give it a certain appeal. Honestly, the historic building and view are the best part of the dining experience at this restaurant. I don't understand why there are a role of slot machines in a place that's attempting fine dining. That doesn't really go with that type of establishment. There is plenty of other bars and taverns with those machines. It is not something you expect at a destination attempting to offer an elevated experience. I was truly excited when they first opened as this town really needs more places to eat. I really was hoping it would be a fine or even medium dining experience. Somewhere nice to take a date or family for special occasions. I was talking with someone the other day and they just said it's not even on their radar anymore. They expressed same concerns but said mostly it was the cost of the food for what you get. They were disappointed and aren't going back. I don't mean to be over critical. I'm just trying to be honest. I really wish they would straighten out these issues. This town really deserves a really good restaurant. It's a shame to have to drive to the neighboring cities to get a great meal.

I could go on about the gorgeous windows and the historic features but I just have to talk about…read morethe best clam chowder I've ever had! So nice to taste real homemade food! The prime rib was phenomenal , with a yummy crust. And you can't go wrong with a price of $3.50 to add on salad bar! Wish I lived closer.

In the past, we…read morealways visited a different local pizza place (not in Bailey's Harbor), but we need a change--and this was a really great change! They do not take reservations, but since we were there a full week before the 4th, we were able to get a table pretty quickly--even on a Saturday night. They have seating both outside and in--but it was chilly, so we sat inside. The dining room is light and bright, and one can see the water, though, it is an obstructed view--and really, were were there for the pizza. We first ordered the Simple Salad. The salad is really simple, but oh.my.god--the lemon parm dressing was SO GOOD--and I'm not so much a throw-a-ton-of-dressing-on-my-salad kind of person. We had leftover dressing and we took it back to cottage where we stay ("home" for the week). Our server also wrote down the ingredients so I can try and replicate it at home (the actual place where we live). We ordered the organic red sauce + mozzarella pizza and added roasted oyster mushrooms on half and castelvetrano olives on the whole thing. I mention this only because they didn't blink at all with our requests. In fact, they were great about that sort of thing. The first glass wine my server suggested I order, I didn't care for. She just got me a different glass of wine--and that was what we were charged for. More about that pizza--it was SO good. The olives added a nice salt, mushrooms were just perfect in that they provided that sort of meaty, non-meaty taste. Oh, and the crust--good god it was good. Not too thick or thin, dusted a bit with cornmeal on the bottom, light, but good chew. It was just perfect. Oh, and the water dispenser--on the bar, one serves themselves from a tap. They have three different kinds of water--still, sparkling, and one other that I cannot remember. Love that. The services was also, as I mention above, really attentive, but not pushy at all. I only have one suggestion for them. Many of the pizzas have sausage on them. We don't eat pork (not kosher, just appreciate the fact that they're smarter than the dog). It would be nice to have chicken as an option. We definitely visit them again when we're in Door Country again.

Beautiful, welcoming restaurant with excellent vegan, GF options!…read more The staff was so kind when we arrived. Even those in the open kitchen greeted us. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The food was exceptional. We were so appreciative of the GF crust. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. There are some great non-alcoholic drink options. Overall, we are thrilled that we made this stop. I am still dreaming about the pepperoni pizza.
