Decided to take my wife for her Birthday dinner, we ordered ribs and chicken dinners. Food tasted as usual very good. On the way home i get a small pain in my stomach, nothing big but it just keeps amping up in pain. My wife says she feels fine only to change her tune around bedtime, where she is doubled over in pain and gets sick. Im guessing it was the chicken that got us sick. We really like this place but we have to pass on going there again.

First flag, Saturday afternoon lunch (a little of a late lunch) but no one in the place. Waitress was nice, and the menu had all day breakfast along with lunch and dinner offerings. The specials on the wall added a number of choices too. We ordered a bowl of Chicken noodle soup to share, I had the Country Fried Steak (special on the board) and my wife had a cheeseburger and onion rings. First the good, the onions rings were great and the soup was better than average. Burger was okay, with a very good bun. What was disappointing? We ordered and our waitress disappeared until the food was done. We wanted our soup first (which is the way it should be served) but we couldn't find anyone to ask for it. Of course our food came out, and then we got the soup! My meal sucked! Everything was greasy....the hash browns, the eggs and the steak. I tried, but I couldn't eat it. Even the eggs that were supposed to be "over easy" were hard. The hash browns were a gray color and for some reason buried underneath the gravy covered County Fried Steak. Only thing good about my meal was the sourdough toast! Adding to the bad meal, which was actually funny, was that the wet naps they handed out with the meal were dry as a bone! How old do wet nap packages have to be to be dried out?! Prices were reasonable, but because I left most of my meal on my plate it wasn't too great of a value. Not a place I'd go back to.

I went in on a slow Wednesday afternoon and was immediately greeted by Denise, the bar manager. They didn't have my regular choice of fruity beverage so Denise said, "I got ya" and made me a great mixed drink. On her recommendation, I had the grilled cheeseburger (comes on Texas toast) and the fresh-cut french fries. Wow, absolutely fantastic. Exactly the comfort food I needed after a long day of travel. All the patrons who came in were over-the-top friendly and talkative. When leaving, I told Denise I'd be back someday... Turns out, someday was the next night! When I walked in, the joint was more crowded but as soon as I stepped through the door, Denise yelled, "Fruity drink!" and before I sat down, she was already making the same thing! Once again, I relied on her recommendation and went with the house-made pizza. Great choice! I'm a pizza fanatic and this was better than most pizza restaurants I go to. And again, everyone in the place was chatty and friendly. If you're ever in Marinette WI and need a homey, friendly place for a drink and great food, stop into Alibi, you won't regret it. And don't forget to ask for Denise!

La Cabaña has a good assortment of Mexican food that spreads the entire Mexican territory in my opinion. Because South, Central, Northern Mexico has their own unique style and flavor. These regions will call some main dishes by the same name throughout the country But they are different in with the meat used, prepared and served. Made or cooked with different methods and with different sauces and even peppers, La Cabaña is much more a Mexican style food restaurant with a broad menu of dishes that identifies with different parts of Mexico in my opinion. Barbacoa, carne guisada, bistec and huevos Rancheros are different across the country but are named the same. Beef is predominantly Northern , lamb and pork is Central and each of those will trickle down into the Southern region like Yucatán where chicken , pork and sheep along with ground meat (albóndigas) and fish, shrimp and ceviche dishes is mainly coastal tropical areas If you are not sure what you would like to eat, give yourself some time to read the menu.
