I've wanted to eat here for awhile and finally had the opportunity to stop in for lunch on a Friday. It wasn't very busy for a Friday around 130. The ambiance is that of every other Mexican restaurant in existence. Service was fair, although server guy left my hanging for a refill on my Pepsi for quite some time. Price is what you'd expect for this type of food. I will say that the Fajita Burrito was pretty large and pretty filling. That was the positive. I wouldn't drive here specifically to eat, but if I was in the area and inclined, I would eat here again. read more

I have had good Mexican food reasonably authentic. As a visitor to Puerto Vallarta, and Cali, Columbia... I love food from all over the world. Tonight visiting from out of town. Chips, Salsa, one Margherita classic and the Berria Beef, quesadilla. Not expecting to be blown away. Next level good. The barría was awesome. The beef, I have had very good brisket marinated and slow cooked for hours this was butter tender, perfectly seasoned not too spicy or salty just great beef brisket flavor. Served with something like aue jue on the side that is cooked with diced onions and celantro and real beef juices cooked. The refried beans, refretos, smooth, but not whipped or areated, light amounts of diced purple onions and most important.... Not too salty. I can totally tell this didn't come from a can as most do. Have had good Mexican hispana food in Columbus but the dozens of spots are the same. This was next level. read more

My daughter and her roommate requested Mexican food for dinner this evening. So I yelped which restaurants had the highest reviews. Well, four different Mexican restaurants all had four stars. So I chose the one that had the most reviews - Los Girasoles (sunflowers). Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and our drink requests were taken. My daughter and her friend knew what they wanted fairly quickly, so I quickly looked for a pollo loco dish. I found one and requested that they add mushrooms. The food was ready in under 10 minutes. The chips and salsa were tasty. They served cole slaw along with the salsa, which was an interesting twist. I ate all of it. The coleslaw was a bit salty and it had an onion flavor, but was good enough for me to eat all of it with tortilla chips. My pollo loco was also a bit salty, but very good. The meal and the service were great. We'll visit again. read more

Yummy! Order the Holy Guacamole with roasted corn. You won't be disappointed! Everything here is delicious! Fast service and the staff is very attentive. I highly suggest the fajitas for two after your appetizer. While the menu says fajitas for 2, the meal could easily feed 3. Everything is prepared fresh and has a unique taste. You won't leave here hungry. We wanted dessert, but didn't have room, so ordered it to go. The tres leches cake was also delicious! Very moist and creamy! Everyone working here was super nice! Tonight I find myself in Kent Ohio. Los Girasoles is right next to the hotel... so here I am. I was served right away by someone who apparently had something else to do. The place is really kind of plain, but I'm not here for style just food and beer. There was one operational TV that wasn't running any kind of sports. I've never been served Cole slaw at a Mexican restaurant, but it was good. The Street tacos were pretty good although I have had many that were better. read more

This restaurant is great! I came family and we had a wonderful time. All the servers were really nice and friendly. For an appetizer we ordered the queso fundido with tortillas and it was delicious! For my entree I ordered the beef and chicken flautas and they were really good. The other entrees looked good too. My margarita was delicious! The The Birria and the rice are fire. The Cole slaw that they serve with the chips is insanely good and I normally hate anything with horseradish. The only downside are the chips. I was pleasantly impressed, from the comfortable ambiance, to the service and delicious Mexican cuisine! Our appetizer... "shrimp habanero" was so scrumptious, the sauce... #YUM! Great Mexican restaurant! We weren't too hungry so I ordered the Chile, and my wife got a Chicken taco salad. Let's start with the Chile. Wow, unlike any Chile I've eaten. Lots of very tender chunks of beef in a creamy, tomato sauce. The sauce had some onion, and small chunks of tomato, and it was topped off with a creamy/cheesy sauce, almost like a béchamel sauce. My wife's chicken salad was great (I finished what she couldn't). Crispy lettuce, and spicy, tender chicken. To top it all off, they had many specials of their bottled beer. A Negro Modelo for $1.95! We have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. The fact we decided to give it a try on Cinco de Mayo was crazy. The place was packed and people were even eating outside when it was very chilly. We waited about 15 minutes in our car and then got an inside table. The food looked so good as we passed by the very full tables! We were given salsa, chips and a "special slaw" before we even had time to look at the menu. A minute later someone stopped to take our drink order. The slaw was great with the chips. The salsa was the perfect heat. Boom our drinks were delivered. It wasn't long and our efficient waiter took our order and brought us water. They must have beefed up how many people were working in the kitchen because we had our food within 10 minutes! OMG! Best fajitas ever. The salsa and mystery dip that turned out to be one of the best kicked up coleslaw dips I've ever had, and that says a lot since people come from miles to have mine. If I could give this establishment a zero I most definitely would. First let me start by saying I had no issues with the food. It's wasn't the best but it definitely wasn't the worst. The customer service was absolutely horrible. As a local business owner if I treated my customers in this manner I would expect to have zero business. We ordered $500 worth of food for a birthday celebration from this business. When I arrived a little early to pick up the order, the rude woman at the front counter didn't appreciate me being there 15 min early. She let me know that I wasn't supposed to pick up until 12:15. NOT 12:00. When she began bringing my bags to me not one person in the whole place offered to help carry out or even hold open the damn door. There were easily 12-15 bags plus 9 containers of food. I was perfectly capable but a little kindness would've been helpful. Where has good customer service gone? It sadly doesn't exist in some businesses any longer and unfortunately this establishment is one of them. I certainly hope in the future you treat your customers who spend their hard earned money with more respectful. I will NEVER give this restaurant the pleasure of my business nor would I recommend. If you're looking for a place to go to be talked down to and spoken to in a rude manner then this is your place!!! read more

Second or third time here but by far the most memorable. I think they've really upped the game. Spotless place, great service, I counted 8 people working the floor. Good drink prices and good food prices. I usually get fajitas but tried the Carne Colorado and it was great. Not overly spicy but really a great sauce. Server was awesome. She brought me seconds of the Mexican style coleslaw and kept chips full. Full bar, prices are fair. I want to use the patio this summer as looks very nice. I happened to find this gem of a restaurant while driving from NYC area to Indiana on 76. Upon seeing the restaurant, I opened up Yelp to check out the reviews. All good! so I tried it out -- chicken enchiladas with rice and salad. Absolutely delicious!!! I don't usually write reviews, but I felt that this restaurant was one worth telling others about. This was my first visit since the establishment changed names. My family and I had an enjoyable dinner on the weeknight we visited. The staff were friendly, attentive, prompt, and seemed to enjoy their job. The colorful dinning area, festive decorations, and energetic music make for enjoyable, uplifting, and relaxing atmosphere. I ordered the taco pizza and loved it. When the waitress delivered my pizza I was amazed at it's large size and generous portions of toppings. Unless you have a large appetite the pizza is definitely one you should probably share with someone or take half home for lunch the next day.
