Shrimp tacos and chicken pot pie soup

I ordered 2 shrimp tacos and chicken pot pie soup. It's really good! Free chips with two sauces! Will go back and try other things for sure!

Cute little spot located in a strip mall. Parking is shared with the other businesses. Hannah was taking orders both in person and over the phone. She was super friendly and polite. I had the chicken rice bowl and it was very flavorful. I enjoyed the green salsa they served as well. Very reasonably priced and food was not greasy at all.

The tacos here were pretty average but I can tell it is more authentic than most places. Quality- I got 4 different tacos and my favorite was the beef taco. The meats for all the tacos are seasoned well and fresh . Quantity- 5 bucks for a taco is pricy. Atmosphere- nice quiet place Service- pretty fast

Highly recommend you watch for the daily specials. Posted daily on their site and or instagram. The cheek taco, Lamb taco and the Pork Belly are outstanding. The steak dinner is also tasty and enough for two if you add a 4oz guacamole that comes with extra chips. Small menu. No burritos. Chips and tortillas are made fresh. You can often see the lady making them if you sit at the bar. Never had a rice bowl there so can't recommend. The soups are good too, they change daily. And quesadillas are great to dip in the green sauce. If you want more heat, ask for the hot sauce. It's fire. Good to mix into the mild for your heat preference.

To find an authentic taco spot near us is pretty difficult. So so happy we gave this place a try! It's a bit of a drive for us but so worth it- the staff are all so kind and nice too! My husband tried the carne asada and I had some- it was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. Finding a spot that serves quality meat is always a task for us! We found that here. You can tell they take great pride in their clean kitchen and reinventing their menu and specials each day. I tried a chicken torta and it was amazinggg! Ask for the spicy salsa, it is picoso but very flavorful! Well done team!

    Steak Tacos ,Spanish rice, Guacamole.

I took a chance based on some Yelp reviews and visited here after my workout 8/25/23....and I am so happy I did!! I ordered 2 steak Tacos, 1 corn 1 flour Tortilla, order of rice, 1/2 order of Guacamole. STEAK TACOS- The meat was seasoned nicely & was tender. Tacos come with onion & cilantro but you can add more toppings or skip toppings. They were thick tacos! Definitely get moneys worth! I ordered 2 steak tacos. With the sides I ordered I could have been full with just the one taco but I opted to eat the 2nd taco and take home some of the guacamole. GUACAMOLE- It's fresh and was made traditional with cilantro, onion and little bits of tomato. I am guessing you can ask them to leave out items you don't like...like some ppl don't like cilantro.‍ SPANISH RICE- loved the rice! it was fluffy and perfect. The order size is about a little over a cups worth. SALSA - I was given complimentary chips while I waited for my order and they were fresh and delicious! There was a green and red salsa accompaniment. Neither was very spicy..but the red was a tiny bit spicy. With my tacos, I was served a darker red sauce with an X on the lid & that one was delish & very spicy! Loved that one! TORTILLAS- I thought they were DELICIOUS ! Especially given that the tortilla business has gone to hell for the people who enjoy buying them to eat with a meal instead of bread. The commercial sellers of tortillas have ruined them with excessive sodium and fat and unnecessary preservative chemicals. BUSINESS ENERGY- Everyone I spoke with was very pleasant and very helpful. I spoke with the owner and she was equally nice. She told me to check the website for their daily specials which I certainly plan to do! There many things on the menu I plan to try so i will come back to add to this rewiew! Till then, "Be happy And be a good human!

    Jarritos And The Rice Bowl

Another of these pretty casual Mexican cantinas. It provides some affordable Mexican food in Downer's Grove. Los Dos is a small place but has a surprisingly large menu. Even though the menu isn't that big either you can still find lots to choose from. There's bowls, tacos, and more authentic items. I came in for a fast lunch and decided to eat here. It has a counter to order at and they bring your order wherever you are sitting. The menu is written on a chalkboard and is pretty easy to understand. Food is pretty authentic. This isn't covered in lots of gooey cheese like at those fast food places. Authentic beverages. It's $1.80 for Jarritos and other Mexican pop. They have no alcohol selection. It has a nice selection of Rice Bowls. It's $8.95 for the one with no meat. This has beans, cheese, cilantro, lettuce, onions, rice, sour cream, and tomatoes. Get it vegan by not having the cheese and sour cream. They will add more vegetables to make up for this. Good authentic Mexican. It has a large amount for the size of the place. There's good choices for vegetarians.

    Special of the day: ribs

This place is phenomenal. Another great find in the western suburbs of Chicago. It's a Mexican restaurant in the middle of a strip mall next to an Anytime Fitness. The restaurant has a number of taco options that are on the menu every day, and they update their Facebook page to feature a different special every day as well. The special that we had was smoked ribs, with salsa on top of it. I question how authentic that is, but it was definitely tasty. The meat came right off the bone. There are two options of tortillas, corn and flour, and both are pretty good. The two salsa options both tasted fresh and made that day. Not too spicy. I'm not a big steak eater, but the person in our party who ordered the steak said it was on the dry side. The Carnitas were nice and juicy. I especially liked the rice and the beans that came with all of the platters, because they were flavorful and rich. The food felt very Americanized, but that's okay. Hearty, tasty, delicious. They also had a delicious flan that was creamy and rich. They advertise a bunch of different flavors, but only had vanilla. So I got two! We will be back soon!

The prices were okay ($35 for two burritos, chips & salsa, a fountain drink and a bottled sparkling water). My husband got a fountain drink which was self serve, and there was no ice in the machine, and of the multiple types of soda he tried to get, they were all just regular soda water instead of coke, Fanta, etc. except for the sprite so that's what he got. I got a topo chico, and I had to grab mine out of a drink fridge, and the fridge wasn't really cold so my water was just slightly cooler than room temp. The bottle required an opener to get the bottle cap off, and i had to ask for one to open it. The chips and salsa were just okay. The chips were a little stale, and the salsa was a little watery for my preference. Our burritos were good and came quickly, but I can't say I'd be back. For the quality of the experience, I'd expect to pay about half of what I ultimately did.

After she let me in, she started making my order. While I was sitting there, it was cold and smelled a bit like cigarettes. At least she was friendly and I didn't wait too long. The food was good! Steak was a bit dry but had good flavor. Not sure if this is a typical experience or if it was because it was snowing a lot.

I was bummed to not see cochinita pibil on their menu as I could've sworn I had seen it on another Yelp review. I ended up ordering two tinga tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were good but the rice and beans were just meh. The rice was bland and the beans tasted like frito lay bean dip. Their chips were freshly made which make them taste that much better. Their guacamole and salsa were both super yummy! I recommend both! The ambiance was there especially once the dj showed up and started playing all the jams. I look forward to going back and possibly try something different from their menu. Overall, I recommend trying this place out!

Tacochela is one of those places you go to the counter and tell them items you want as they put your order together. Lots of things to choose from. You can get meats or vegan options for proteins and there's quite a few sides. Coming in for lunch there was a line. It's usually not a long wait and it wasn't this time. They have tacos obviously as well as burritos and tortas so you can get whatever. Has a pretty easy to understand menu. It's about $4 per taco. Get a combo and save a couple bucks. The combos add a drink and a side. For vegetarians the sides includes things like beans and rice, separate or together as one. We got a few of the tacos with the plant protein, and with the fried sweet potatoes. Filling. There was quite enough for us and glad we chose only a few tacos. Great stuff that is full of flavor. It's located in a strip mall at Belmont and Ogden. There's plenty of things for vegans.
