Wow...so surprised by the high reviews of this place. I got the normal torta with chorizo and my husband got some special (short rib?). My torta was fine - chorizo was decent - not too oily. But the bread was not good - I felt it was lower grade and just so plain. My husband's dish was not good at all. I took one bite of it and there was something crunchy in it - maybe a bone? It just lacked flavor / taste. He left most of it and then at half of my torta. It's not a place we would be back to. read more

Crazy Tortas has come a long way. I talked to the owner and they redid the menu as well as created their own website. I've been here several times now. They always provide good, reliable service. This is a great mom and pop restaurant. Prices are not expensive, they're cheap to reasonable. They do not use Tostito Rounds and they give you a lot of meat in the tortas as you can see in the pictures. Don't listen to false reviews. Food wise, I would give a 4/5. Chips are tasty, not too salty. They have a wide array of sauce (hot and spicy. You can take as much as you like). Horchata is delicious. Free refills. Here is the food I've gotten. -Crazy Torta 5/5 - they used to have one that was big enough to feed 2 people. -Aloha Torta 4/5 - smoked pork chop could be more moist and less chewy. -Quesabirrias 5/5 - my favorite item so far. My husband said 5/5 on the torta birria - juicy meat, tons of flavor loved the salsa bar Nice online ordering system I had the three taco plate. 2 chicken and cheese and 1 Al pastor. If I could put zero stars I would've. The Federal Trade Commission should look into this restaurants illegal marketing and advertisement tactics. They tapped a piece of paper to my car window, which I already didn't appreciate, saying something among the lines "This voucher is good for one FREE taco." When I tried to utilize the voucher they informed me that they will "only honor it with a purchase." No where on the voucher front or back did it state this, all it had was their goofy looking logo, an expiration date, their address, and text stating that it's good for one FREE taco. I mean at least put it in a small font next time so your marketing is legal. Or, I don't know, so you don't go wasting peoples time and gas making them believe they would get a free taco and try a new place out! I'm never coming back here ever again. 0/10 read more

Im not sure about the negative reviews, but this will not be one of them! Fair pricing, free parking, great service, salsa bar, free horchata refills and tremendous tortas! You will not be disappointed here with their size of the torta. Every inch of that torta sandwich is filled, especially if you order the crazy one! This isnt one of those restaurants where you get a huge torta sandwich only to have very small portions, the ingredients here will be falling out with each bite! This is my first time here, and it will not be my last! Dont, blink when driving on Ogden because you might pass it as its tucked in a corner of a plaza. Great mexican food for a quick bite to eat! The portions are HUGE and super filling. When you sit down they give you chips to eat with at their salsa bar. They have an arrangement of flavors for you to choose from all of which are delicious. I got the Torta birria, the bread is freshly toasted and packed with gooey mozzarella, and shredded beef. When dipped in the birria it soaks up all of the incredible broth, making every bite juicy and packed with flavor. The owners are very attentive and super nice. It's a cozy little restaurant that has a couple of tables that seat four inside. It's a good place to check out if you live in the area, definitely worth the price for what you get. I ordered the Chicken Milanesa Torta to go. It was huge. Simple and perfect. It really hit the spot. They have a self-serve salsa bar with a wide variety of spicy and mild salsas, as well as some pickled vegetables. I regret not taking more salsas because they were all good(and the torta is BIG). The namesake sandwich, The Crazy Torta, is really great. Big. The Crazy Torta has Milenesa (choice of breaded steak or breaded chicken), ham, sausage (hot dogs, functionally), bacon, cheese, avocado, lettuce, onion, mayo and jalapeño. (I skipped the jalapeno, because I'm a baby, but I bet it would have been okay with it.). It seemed like a bit much, but it worked really well. A little messy. They have a board of specials, and if you're vegetarian and look at the regular menu, it's going to look like there's nothing for you. In this case today there was a Chile Relleno item. My pescatarian wife felt that was "okay", certainly nothing like I liked my sandwich. To some extent, that might be the thing that keeps me from returning as much, but I'll keep an eye on their facebook page for interesting specials or whatever may come of it. There's a kids menu, but I stuck with some favorites of my kids. Rice. They liked it. They also enjoyed a cheese quesadilla and some ground beef tacos too, but they devoured the rice. They also have a salsa bar, with a LOT of various salsas. We sampled most of the mild side and they were all pretty decent and there were lots of flavors to play around with. We appreciated the marinated carrots and onions, which we like a lot. Anyway, this is pretty great, you should probably give it a try. I admit, there's a lot of good competition in the area, and a few that may suit my entire family a touch better at times, but this did strike a chord for me, and I'll be back. I didn't even try some of their sides or desserts, so looking forward to sampling those. I should note, their web presence seems a touch lousy at the moment (trying to show you some place in Indiana a lot) and your best bet may be their facebook page, searching on "Crazy Tortas" and going for the one in lisle, they have presences on instagram (crazy_tortasrestaurant) and tiktok (crazytortaslovers). We tried the steak big burrito and al pastor taco on our recent visit. Very solid tasting on both. The steak and pork meat had seasoning and cooked right. Taco meat portion was good, however, thought the burrito did not have enough meat. Did enjoy the salsa bar having different hot and mild options along with the hot carrots and jalapenos.
