I eat differently for health reasons, and they are one of the only places in town I can get a fantastic meal that actually fits my dietary preferences. With faint music in the background, super clean seating and well kept eating areas. My waitress, hostess, and support staff were all super friendly, helpful and welcoming from the very beginning. The customary chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants came with an additional plate of refried beans. This was a nice addition. The salsa tasted freshly made and had a great subtle heat to the taste. I ordered the lunch Chimichanga with ground beef; It was prepared with plenty of filling and cooked to perfection. Just enough crunch, with plenty of cheese on the inside and outside. The rice and beans were pretty good; Not superb, but not bad either; just a real good compliment to the meal. I would definitely return and try other dishes when I'm back in the area. Walking in the restaurant looked like an old Denny's or something. Outside of the music there is no decor that looks like a Mexican restaurant. On sitting down, we were served a nice plate of refried beans, salsa and chips. But the chips were store-bought a little disappointing and the salsa was very mild, could've used a little heat The Cadillac margarita was OK, but I would've liked to put in the grand Monnier myself. Ordered the steak fajitas, which were way overdone. The service was no more than taking our order and bringing us the food. No interaction or recommendations. The only issue I have is when I phone in an order, I'm sometimes not sure if we had a meeting of the minds (a bit of a language barrier) and I wish they would put a bed of chips under the tortilla so it doesn't get soggy and just give me less chips. read more

Let me start by saying this restaurant was in the hotel I was staying at and I didn't feel like driving to find a place to eat dinner. Also the front desk clerk said it was her second favorite Mexican food restaurant in town , no they don't have just two Mexican restaurants in town. The staff except for the bartender are not very outgoing. I decided to dine in the bar and watch Thursday night football and have a cold beer with my dinner. I ordered the verde burrito from the bartender and he said he would bring a bowl of chips and salsa. After about 10 minutes I had to remind the bartender that he promised chips and salsa. The beer and the salsa and chips finally appeared with the news that they were out of pork for my burrito. I ordered a combo plate this time with a chicken enchilada and a ground beef taco hoping the cows hadn't run off with the chicken had flown the coop. As I was eating the stale chips with some decent salsa about halfway through the bowl of chips I came across some chips with nacho cheese on them ( draw your own conclusion ) needless to say I was done with the chips. My food finally arrived and it was probably the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I managed to eat the taco but the enchilada was not edible. The bartender was a nice guy but not much of a waiter. I will never eat there again it was bad food, mediocre service and the ambience was stale. read more

Very happily surprised!!! I usually don't expect good food from a hotel restaurant, but this was great!! The picture is not great looking as I was super hungry and immediately tore into it. If you love seafood and vegetables this is your dish!!! I could honestly have this once a week. Great sauce, prawns were amazing and big and cooked perfectly along with the scallops. This use to be a good one but not anymore. Not only was my chili relleno burrito pretty bad($13.00), the prices almost doubled since I have been in. My old seafood chimichanga was around $10.00, now it is almost $17.00. What happened? They do a remodel and now things are absurdly priced? If the food was amazing then $17.00 might almost be worth it but it isn't.... The service was also pretty slow once we got our meal. It was one of those where you sit awkwardly for a very long time waiting for someone buy a someone wasn't able to be found. On the positive side, everyone was extremely friendly. Note: if you are in a wheel chair, you will need help for several doors. While I didn't check everyone in the place, the main two doors to get in were extremely difficult to open and going to the bathroom, there were no accessible/electric doors. read more

Wyoming has a large Latino population so it would make sense that in almost every sizeable town in Wyoming there should be at least one good, authentic Mexican restaurant in town. I don't know Rock Springs well at all so knowing the ends and outs of the town and going to the "good" places I am left out in the dark on. I went through Rock Springs trying to get to Colorado about a month ago. As it happened to unfold I was passing through town on a Sunday. Trying to find a place open downtown was futile. Every business was closed. My only chance was to get close to the Interstate to find sustenance. I found Los Cabos at one of the I-80 exits and went in. The service was suitable and friendly but the food was just fair and not really all that memorable. I got a Burrito Supreme and Cheese Enchilada of sorts and the portions were huge which included rice and beans. Since I was on the road I could not have any of the food boxed up and I was actually ok with that. Surely the Rock Springs and Green River area has something more authentic. read more

Every now and then, I enjoy a fine dinner at a restaurant that inspires me to heap enthusiastic praise on the quality of food and service. This was NOT one of those times. Why wasn't it good you ask? Well, let me count the ways: 1. High prices: $7 for a miserable little grilled cheese sandwich for the kids, 2. Bad food: How can you make bad enchiladas if you are Mexican restaurant? Arrived cold, limp, not much flavor, I think I can make better at home, and 3, Really, really angry and put upon waiters. The food arrives slowly. And the winning touch? The waiter got angry when asked to take a picture. It was someone's birthday. I've never had a waiter refuse to take a picture, EVER! This was my rude, rude awakening that I was no longer in California. It was quite possibly the most horrible, flavorless, soggy Mexican food I have ever had. What would have made me happy is a burrito stuffed with grilled carne asada, black beans, guacamole, salsa and cheese wrapped in foil. What I got instead was a flaccid blob of beef wrapped in a soggy flour tortilla with some cheese melted on top. It makes me sad that with so many Mexican people in the community, the food is not more authentic and fresh. read more

My father and I went here (it was close to our hotel) and we were very satisfied. The chips were fresh (served with both salsa and refried beans), and the meals were very tasty. I had the flautas and my dad had the chicken fajita quesadilla. They give you good portions (as any Mexican restaurant should). The wait for the meals seemed a little bit longer than a typical Mexican restaurant (but not too bad), and that may have led me to fill up on chips. It was a Sunday evening so probably not the heaviest staffed time. Definitely would recommend if you're stopping in Rock Springs. read more
