3 stars because the beans and rice were phenomenal. They serve posole fridays and saturdays, so I ordered posole and a side enchilada. The food was ok not too bland but not what I'm use to. This place lacked in apperance and service. I could eat in a shack and never notice if I was getting fantastic service. It is a very small town and locally owned resturant. Its nice and cozy inside but I did not recieve one smile from our waitress. I think my biggest turn off though was the fact you had to pay $3 extra to add beans and rice to any kid's menu item. I guess most places I've went to just included rice and beans. Just stopped here while driving through, don't see myself coming back. read more

We stopped in on a Friday night to have dinner as we traveled through Wyoming. We are sure glad we did. This family restaurant makes some of the most authentic Mexican I have had in a long time. We both ordered a taco plate which comes with four street tacos with the meat of your choice and a plate of rice and beans. This is obviously a standard dish at authentic Mexican restaurant however, I thought it was better than most. I'll start with the rice and beans. I typically put a little salsa on my rice and beans to create a spicy flavor but what I particularly liked were these beans were very smooth and delicious. I could order rice and beans alone! The street tacos were delicious. I ordered one of each meat which were carne asada, pork, chicken, and shredded beef. They come with cilantro and onions, You do the rest. A little bit of salsa on top or leave them plain, it doesn't matter, they were delicious. I will definitely come back on my way through Rock Springs. read more

We didn't have high expectations because honestly good Mexican food is hard to find. The entrees were decent but it was the salsa and guacamole that were over the top good. The guacamole is freshly made and I believe just about everything else is as well... the chips aren't. The salsa had chunks of fresh tomatoes. It was so good! Ordered 3 breakfast burritos, a 2 enchilada plate and a tostada plate. Burritos were about the size of the frozen cheap store bought. Enchilada plate had literally 2 table spoons of rice....same with beans. Husband picked up the order and came home without the tostadas because they neglected to tell me they didn't have tostadas. We came in for a late lunch today and we will be back before we leave town! Fresh chips and homemade salsa were brought to the table right away. The server then left to get our drinks and we got to look over their menu for a bit. After she took our orders, we could hear sizzling from the kitchen as the cook began our meals. (I knew it was our meals cooking since we were the only people there at the time.) My husband got the fajitas and almost licked the plate. I got the green chili-smothered burrito stuffed with a chile relleno and it was out-of-this-world good. And I have to mention the beans and rice, which were both outstanding. Limited but affordable menu. Menedo was top notch and authentic Chile Verde was fresh and healthy with a lot of non-fatty pork, and great flavor. The staff were very friendly. The food seems to be a mix of classic Mexican and more Gringo-ized American South West versions. The enchilada was not greasy with a lot of chicken, covered in lettuce and tomatoe. The taco came in a flour tortilla with no salsa, lettuce, tomatoe and chedder cheese. Carne Asada is about $10. They also have Fajitas and pan fried Talapia. They also have big Tortas listed on the menu, and the Barbacoa taco is listed as made of lamb. read more

The only reason I can figure that this place is rated so high is that there are only a few dozen reviews, probably by friends and family. This place was not good. Kids meals did not include beans and rice, which we are used to but you can add it so not a super big deal, but for a small restaurant in a small town the value aspect is nonexistent. Quesadillas for the kids were good, beef taco was terrible. My fajitas were decent, they lacked traditional garnishes such as guacamole, sour cream, pico de Gallo, etc. my wife had beef enchiladas, they were gross. She wouldn't even eat them, I hate wasting money so I powered through a portion of them, but they were not good at all. She also got a flavored margarita, tasted like nothing but syrup. We both come from Hispanic families, and grew up with Mexican food of many types. This was terrible and not cheap to add insult to injury. Pass, find something else, we should've known better when only a few tables were taken and other restaurants nearby had packed houses. Only upside was the waitress was very nice and did a good job, and the red hot sauce was actually pretty good. read more

We had been traveling all day and decided to stop in a little town on I-80 called Green River. We yelped restaurants near me and found MI Casita. What a GREAT PIC! 1st of all Address Is wrong. It's actually downtown by the courthouse, next to the "Mast" strip club. Now...... If your from Texas, Cali, or anywhere else that has REAL Mexican food, keep driving..... Service is good and place is clean but, they just can't get close to authentic. Although the beans, mex rice, and entrees are edible, flavor and preparation style are off (fajitas & Carne Asada is fried on a griddle) ! dont get me started on the margaritas........straight sweet n sour and asking for extra tequila (cheap stuff) just messes up the drink more.... They do have decent green salsa and offer all the Mexican beers so that's a positive. I guess the main thing this kitchen needs is SEASONING and maybe bringing in a cook from down south. read more

With price an quality this is probably the best restraint in town. If you are a fan of Pasole or menudo they make the best around. Very inexpensive prices and pretty authentic for this part of the country. And if you are interested in a dinner and a show there is a strip club next door. read more

Road trip from Chicago to Deer Valley. Trying to hit non chains all the way, but every restaurant feels like a location from Napoleon Dynamite, and the food is no better than a steak flung side arm by Uncle Rico. Then there's Mi Casita. It's no Big Star, but the Tacos are frickin amazing! My co-pilot swears by the tamales. Micheadas aren't on the menu, but they'll serve a damn tasty one if you ask nicely. Stick to the lamb and pastor. Sadly, there's no liger. That's pretty much my favorite animal. read more
