Just visited Cabo on a cruise and went exploring in the town. This was the BEST experience. Joaquin was a fantastic host. We were SO HOT walking around and needed a place to sit and eat. We were seated immediately and they gave us a big fan to help cool down. Nice cold drinks and fantastic service. The food was phenominal. Many of us got the coconut shrimp entre and it was delicious! We also had the strawberry salad and the fajita entre which were both amazing! All plates were CLEANED by the end, not a crumb left behind. We also had fresh baked bread with butter and it was an impressive surprise. The butter was a garlic butter blend and it went perfectly with the fresh baked bread. For desert they sent me a flan with happy birthday written which was soooo sweet! Ive had a lot of flan in my days and this was hands down the best one thus far. The service was EXCELLENT. When I am back in Cabo I will CERTAINLY be stopping here again. I encourage everyone in Cabo to try them out you will NOT be disappointed. read more

We stopped in at that time for one of their delicious Margaritas, which was excellent. We came back the next night for table-side quacamole, butterfly shrimp, and the filet mignon also cooked table-side. What a wonderful experience it was and the food was top notch. Los Barriles was recommended by staff at a local tequila tasting shop located up the street from them. I had asked how much will lobster cost because so far, El Pescador in Cabo was in the lead for price ($25 steak and lobster), taste and its for its decent size. All staff said, "don't worry about the price." Always open to new seafood places so we gave Los Barriles a try. Our plan was to have a "taste trial" at Los Barriles since we already had a big breakfast at our resort couple hours ago. We figured, let's size up the place and have a very light meal...with drinks, of course. Menu had lots to offer. When we saw the price for lobster, it was not the price range we were looking for at this place or anywhere in Cabo. Almost doubled in price compared to what we're use to paying in Mexico, we decided we will not spend dinner here the next day. On menu, Los Barriles had plenty to offer for all, but did not win our hearts on price points and food portioning. Nice fancy-like food prep presentation though, by our server. He appeared to give it his all. We appreciated his efforts, his attention to detail and attentiveness to all of us. He made sure we were taken care of. Walking from our resort we stumbled upon Los Barriles. I was looking for while snapper and they had it, I'm fact they had two whole snapper options!!! The staff was very welcoming and informative. I loved the atmosphere. Outdoor seating. My boyfriend ordered the sea bass which they cook right in front of you! We got a bit chilly and they gave us ponchos and blankets, talk about great customer service! I would definitely recommend stopping by fir a meal & the live entertainment!! Originally, we uber'ed to Mama's Royal Cafe on an early Sunday morning at 8am, but they were closed. The waiter, Jumar, from Los Barriles gestured for us to come over and try their breakfast; we did not regret it! Our family had dinner here on a week night. A nice, garden, open air dining area with great ambiance. The service was very good, attentive but not overbearing. I had the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde. It was served with a small serving of rice and beans and presented with fresh lettuce greens and some sauce on the top of the enchiladas. Probably could have used a bit more salsa, but it was very good. The other two entrees we had were the fajitas, beef and chicken and they too were gobbled up. This is a restaurant that I highly recommend for a visit. It's not just a meal you will enjoy but an entire experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was fantastic. Thank you David, Manuel, Paco and the entire staff for making our visit memorable. Paco came around introducing himself and wishing us a good time as it was his day off from the kitchen. The table side service for Caesar salad, shrimp and the bananas flambe was impressive and tasted so good. The steak and lobster tails were quite flavorful, as well as the enchiladas. The churros weren't over sweetened with sugar and cinnamon, which made them heavenly. The entertainment from the street guitar players, to Sam the amazing magician just made the night so enjoyable. All the servers and people that work there are so kind, friendly and welcoming. For drinks we ordered margaritas with their house tequila (their own tequila), shots of the same tequila. Got a few apps, fresh tuna carpaccio and molcajete cheese. Wow amazing, the tuna was so fresh and the cheese was mouth watering and the presentable was beyond. Then we ordered the cooked at the table rib eye with mole sauce and drunken shrimp. All so good and for sure a must go to when in Cabo. I really, REALLY wanted to enjoy this experience. I actually tried to find the place once before and couldn't. Not sure why, cuz I walked right up to it tonight. Was greeted immediately upon entry and offered any table I wanted. And most were available. There was live music (well, a guy w a guitar and synthesizer). He was great with some songs while butchering a couple others. I'd rather have bad live music most nights than no music at all - so he was a good touch. I was drawn to the table side offerings. Shrimp. Filet. Cooked at the table. I asked which was best and was told "all of them". The waiter said the most popular option was a Filet with mole sauce. Not table side, but I said "bring it on". I enjoyed a couple Dos Equis and warm bread arrived promptly with garlic butter. Another nice touch. However, the bread was DRY and butter didn't have a lot of flavor. My steak arrived shortly after. The portion was huge. The entire meal looked fabulous. I cut in to the steak and immediately noticed it was not cooked "medium" as requested. It was pretty rare. I'm not too fussy. It was a big cut and I can eat around the edges and take some home. It took about 2-3 minutes to cut and chew the first 3 bites. I was anxious and hungry. On the third bite; the "chewiness" got to me and a weird flavor came across. It did not taste "right". I ate some potatoes, a couple veggies and enjoyed the shot of Don Julio I ordered w the steak. The steak, shot and 3 Dos Equis were $950 pesos, or $53. Cash only. Get some pesos while in mexico. I paid 19.50 exchange rate which means my meal was only $48 US dollars. I still tipped nice. But would not come back. It is hard to find a great steak in cabo without spending $100 at one of the NICE resort steak houses. Cows are skinnier here . A good one will set you back a few bucks. read more
