Cash only establishment. Really liked the fish ceviche - very fresh and it is quite a large portion. Complimentary chips and salsa. I should have written down what kind of chips they buy, because they were tasty. Very crunchy and really nice corn and toasty flavor. Frozen margarita had really good flavor too. For the mango one, it had mango puree for a base, which I think was much nicer than just flavored water. Garlic grilled shrimp plate was tasty. Shrimp enchilada was ok, but not really what I was expecting. Guess we've been eating Americanized enchiladas this whole time. This dish was a warmed tortilla topped with small shrimp, tomato, and bell peppers.
We had the freshest seafood of this trip here. Cocktail: 5/5 As long as the ingredients are fresh, you can't go wrong with this choice. Ceviches (Clam Order): 5/5 Highly recommended! I got to try the chocolate clams, which made the trip worthwhile. These clams are said to be unique to the area. The meat was plump and incredibly fresh. Surprise Combination: 4/5 Everything was great except for the lobster. The flavors were light, allowing the natural taste of the seafood to shine through, which I really enjoyed. However, the lobster was overcooked. Jamaica: 3/5 I was expecting a tangy and sweet drink, but this just tasted like sugary water.
This place by far is one of the best seafood places I have been to in Cabo for a long time. Their prices and portions are fantastic. I got two lobster tails a bunch of shrimp for around US$27. My daughter got oysters. They were giant everything was really great great service very fast, family friendly. I will definitely be coming back here again for sure.
We decided to walk into the city to look for authentic, good, Mexican seafood, specifically, lobster. The reviews at this place did not disappoint! We shopped around for prices near the boardwalk and downtown marina area and these were the best. We got the shrimp and lobster combo, the lobster tail, and the seafood cocktail. I highly suggest getting the shrimp and lobster combo. Skip the lobster tail because they do give you 3 but you get more with the shrimp! They cooked the shrimp and lobster in a delicious butter garlic sauce. I wanted an all shrimp cocktail but used the wrong translation and ended up getting the seafood combo. They had a lot of fresh scallops, clams, avocado and shrimp in it. It tasted great. Overall, it's a hole in the wall but the service was friendly, the food delicious and fresh, the prices unbeatable and all the locals come here so you know it's good.
Rounding up to 5 stars as it was an honest 4 for me trying this place for the first time but blaming myself because I didn't know what to order. A review or two had indicated it was a seedier area of town but we went for lunch with a child so had no issues whatsoever in terms of safety during daytime. This is a cash only establishment and it seemed you could pay in USD or Pesos but I had pesos in hand just in case (that I got from the Santander bank a few walking blocks down by the mall). Chips and salsa are comped. The fish ceviche is a must get - paired well on top of the provided chips. Ordered the oysters as an appetizer as I love oysters. They looked amazingly big and appetizing but in truth were incredibly salty (no fault of the restaurant), WAY too salty but I know you oyster lovers are going to try it anyway at just 200 pesos only to be disappointed like I was. The taste of octopus was a great dish as was the seafood soup my husband got. I was being adventurous and tried the tuna medallion with lobster gravy which was okay but not great so I wish I would have gone with something else. This would be a place I would return to on a next visit now that I know what I'd prefer to order. Service was courteous and responsive.

Apparently this is a 60 year old restaurant and possibly still family run. The seafood here is so fresh and delicious and quite a surprise. Prices are also great. We had the "House snack" which is a must try! No alcohol here. We brought our own bottle of wine and that was ok with the server. This place is all seafood except for one beef item on the menu. If you are adventurous and love fresh seafood go here!
Based on the online reviews, we stopped by Mariscos La Palmita on a recent visit to the marina area in Cabo San Lucas. I must say, the online reviews were on point. From start to finish, a 5-star experience! The complimentary chips and salsa were very good, the chips from the bag on the counter were fresh and light, the salsa was super fresh and had a nice heat. We decided to try the bartender's "Cadillac Margaritas," and were not disappointed. Perfectly balanced, not to sweet, and plenty of bang for the buck! We order the ceviche clams appetizer... the monster plate of clams were crazy fresh; in fact, so fresh, that when we squeezed the fresh lime on the clams they went crazy and danced on the plate ... delicious! For entrees we chose the pescado veracrusano and the garlic lobster, both were amazing. The fish dish was huge, a classic veracruzano sauce on seabass, that also included ample pieces of fresh octopus and shrimp. The garlic lobster included a handful of lobsters, expertly prepared and grilled with a fantastic garlic-butter sauce. The staff was awesome, Aurelio and Ernesto took great care of us. We were the lone touristas in the restaurant while we were there, and the constant flow of locals confirmed we had found a great spot. Higehly recommend Mariscos La Palmita when you're in Cabo... off the beaten path, but worth every step you take getting there.
The restaurant was quiet and definitely a hidden gem. The waiter was really nice and not pushy at all. The service was really quick and servers were attentive. The house snack (not pictured) was more of a mixed seafood platter of octopus, shrimp, and snail. It was decent, not a ton of flavor though and the snail was a different texture to what we expected. The shrimp ceviche was really good and fresh. The soft shell crab was SO GOOD!! Definitely recommend these two. If you're for looking for an affordable and local option, this is it!

As others have said, it's not in the most scenic of neighborhoods, but worth the walk and exploration if you're semi-adventurous and enjoy fresh seafood. Staff were friendly anymore than happy to keep refilling the chips for our ceviche and complimentary salsa. The ceviche was tasty and fresh - we had an order of fish ceviche and an order of shrimp ceviche, both of which were made to order.
We went here looking to eat some Lobster and we got two tails for $60. The lobster was just okay-kind of dry and I was hoping for more butter. They bring out a ton of different dipping sauces which was pretty cool but definitely wanted a little more moisture to the lobster. We ordered the coconut shrimp which was delicious! The service was great! They were on top of it, always checking in with us. This is a really nice spot off of the Boulevard where there are definitely tourists but it seemed a little more hidden which we liked. We didn't wait to be seated and got right in.
Went for the lobster and shrimp special I heard so much about. 2 small lobster tails and lots of mid sized shrimp and 2 beers for $610 Mexican or $38 Us - cash only place. Plastic table cloth open air kind of place. Good deal but lobster not too tasty and shrimp a bit over done. Liked that I could get tasty flour tortillas and that they had several bottled hot sauces and really good Smokey homemade salsa as well as pico de gallo and tortilla chips served with the meal.'I would possibly rerun, but not a fine food or dining spot.
Soooo so so yummy! The right side of the menu is in English so it's easy to order here!!! Loved everything. The family's favorite was the soft shell crab and the clam ceviche. Everything was yummy though! Everything we ordered came out to $144 after tip! Oysters were good and fresh but kinda salty but that's not the restaurant's fault. Will probably be back!!! There was a mariachi playing here which was a vibe. The workers were nice and the food came out quick!! Most definitely will recommend this place to all my friends coming to cabo!!
The food here is awesome. U must try the chocolate clams (clam order on the menu): ask the friendly waiter to do half raw half cooked (or all cooked if u cant bear raw seafood). Try the sauces they provide. Period. The seafood cocktail is also pretty good, plenty of sea-snail, scallops, shrimp, octopus in it. It's cash only, just beware. It's a small establishment and it gets busy past 7. It's two blocks away from marina so walkable if you live around that area. read more

Mariscos La Palmita -- Incredible Seafood, Local Favorite & Amazing Value This place came highly recommended, and after visiting, I totally understand why. The restaurant was packed with locals when we went -- always a great sign. Cash only, so come prepared. What We Ordered Chocolate Clams (Cooked) You can choose raw or cooked -- I went with cooked and it was delicious. Very fresh, no fishy smell at all. One thing to note: every seafood dish comes topped with garlic. I'm not a fan of garlic and didn't know ahead of time, so I rinsed it off with hot water -- still amazing. Calamari Fresh, tender, and very well cooked. Seafood Special Combination Fish and squid were excellent. Lobster and shrimp were okay, nothing too special compared to the others. Price & Value The prices here are unbelievably cheap. * 6 chocolate clams = 285 pesos * Waldorf restaurant: 2 clams for $48 USD * Another place we tried: 2 clams for 340 pesos After eating around Cabo, this place clearly stood out for both quality and price. We couldn't even finish everything and packed leftovers back to the hotel. Total bill for all dishes: around $100 USD -- incredible. Overall Huge portions, super fresh seafood, local vibes, and unbeatable value. If you're anywhere near Cabo San Lucas, this spot is a must-visit. read more

Food was delicious the first and second time we ate there but we got sick an hour after eating there the last time. I don't know. Maybe they had a surplus after the new year crowd left. read more

My wife and I visited this restaurant on our first day in Los Cabos. I did some research and found that the local people like this place and that its prices are reasonable. We ordered lobster, shrimp cocktail, and their unique fish, "Cabeño." We were not disappointed. Each dish was fresh and made from scratch. The waiter was a bit distracted by the women's tournament soccer match on TV but was very attentive and funny. I would love to live here and try each of their menu items. read more

Forget Lorenzillos and their $160 10oz pacific lobster?!? (BTW, you do realize why you can't find a current Lorenzillos menu online right??? And I wonder why their only few menu photos on Yelp are from 5 and 7 years ago? Makes you go hmmmmm?!? I get it.) Back now to La Palmita... Head here where the Cabo locals dine. Open air restaurant with many different choices. I recommend the Aguachiles Palmita - you def won't regret it. Very affordable pricing and quick service. One of Cabo's best kept authentic seafood secrets. read more

Our hotel security team recommended this fine establishment to my wife and I. Boy oh boy, the food here does not disappoint! Portions are plenty! Let the pictures speak for themselves.... We had the Hogfish Ceviche, Skirt Steak w/ Soft Shell Crabs, and The Lobster Shrimp Octopus Medley. All of it was spectacular. Looking for a new restaurant to dine at while in Cabo San Lucas Mexico? If you're looking for something fresh and delicious you've found the place. We started off with the house snack plate which was a mix of shrimp, clams, scallops, sea snail, and octopus. Even though it's called a snack, it's a whole meal. The two of us could have shared that with the complimentary chips and salsa and called it a lunch. Instead we added the empanadas which were also huge, and pilled on with a lobster and scallops plate. We were stuffed (happily). Big portions. Affordable price. Delicious and fresh food. Great service. Definitely a winner. read more

Delicious food, live mariachi bands, friendly service. Off the beaten path of the marina with best local prices! Authentic Mexican food and amazing seafood, high quality customer service, the vibes are right and cute. The serve gave us complimentary tequila shots and it was bomb. Prices were reasonable and affordable. No wait time, food arrived quick. they have parking spots for their customers, it's very pleasant and I can't wait to come back to them. Tldr: this is a MUST visit 14/10! Definitely a must try when in CABO! read more

Still a great place, rave reviews, but note: the "our credit card machine is broken right now" sign is laminated. And only one vegetarian option (cheese quesadilla) unless you eat seafood. read more
