This is THE nerd event. It includes all sorts of fun things such as Comics, Gaming, Cosplay, Anime & Pop Culture. Plenty to see and do at Los Angeles Comic Con! Tonssssss of people go to this event every year. Bring your comfy walking shoes because you will be on your feet all day! I love seeing all the great cosplay ! People really go allll out for this event and that makes it so fun. You'll see groups of people who follow the same theme, or people riding solo. There are lots of booths for merch and collectibles. Also a gang of superhero things, anime and video gaming items. I enjoy the photo opts as well. And of course taking pictures with your favorite cosplay characters! This is nerd heaven. :)

I have been going here for a few years now and I always have a good time. I always enjoy seeing all the cos players and seeing how creative they can be with their costumes and all the hard work they put into it. They have tons of booths where you can check out different artist with this awesome work and vendor that sell various action figures to merchandise and clothing items. They have different areas where you can game it on a pc and have a good time. They have all kinds of cool stuff in different genres such as anime, horror, comics, DC, Marvel, and ETC that will peak your interest. The event is family friendly as well so you don't have to worry about leaving the small ones at home with a sitter. So I'm taking away one star because getting around the convention center is a little confusing. It's hard to tell which hall you're at or where it is. I wished they shipped the badge to you so you don't have to go all the way behind the convention center to pick up your badge.

I've been to several west coast conventions... Wondercon when it was in San Francisco, again down in Anaheim... That was smaller than the LACC... San Diego Comic Con, AX, strategicon, Star Trek conventions... KublaCon. Yes, gaming... Star Trek... Anime and Comic cons. For the price paid... $105 to get a 3-day pass seems reasonable. Occupying the majority of facilities at the Los Angeles convention center it weighs in with fairly extensive facilities. I guess that's probably 100% of space except we didn't seem to use much of the meeting spaces above? The crowds were not as intense as AX or SDCC... And that made it pretty comfortable for getting around, lining up for things or rather, lining up for a few things that we stood for. I guess more is better...

    Awesome cosplayers.

This is hands down the best Comic Con I have ever been to. This coming from a guy who lives in San Diego and has gone to San Diego Comic Con numerous times. To me, L.A. Comic Con just has so many more advantages going for it. First off getting tickets was painless. No more waiting online for hours to disappointedly not get tickets like SDCC. Just the opposite. Just go online and buy the tickets you want. You could of even bought tickets the week leading up to the event. Perfect. Secondly is location. Located in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. It's in the middle of everything. Crypto Arena, where the Laker/ Clipper basketball teams and Kings hockey play. Restaurant and other nightlife all around. Big city fun. Next, the L.A. Convention Center is a large spacious facility that holds two large halls. Even when crowded. I was able to maneuver between booths with little to no effort. Lots of clean restroom facilities and plenty of security/ law enforcement to keep the peace. Staying in a hotel nearby. Walking to the event was easy. Many adjoining streets were closed for easy access on foot. It is downtown so there were some characters out and about but the whole time. I felt safe. Some advice though. Don't talk to any street peddlers. They will suck your time as well as try to suck your wallet. Just keep on traveling to your planned destination. Don't stop. At L.A. Comic Con, they have everything a fan of geek culture could want, see or buy. Celebrities of film and TV are there talking in panels, meeting and greeting as well as signing autographs for a fee of course. Video games, toys, posters, shirts, hats, props, jewelry and of course comic books. Even though comic books is a small percentage compared to everything else that is offered. Like most Cons of geek culture are people dressed up as their favorite character in different genres. Cosplayers as they are called are throughout the convention. Many of the costumes handmade taking hours to create. Overall a fun time for all ages. Looking forward to next year. My Con of choice.

This is probably my 3rd L.A. comic con, and this was the most fun I've had. now first of course the wait can in will be long I think no matter what time you get there. We arrived at about 9:30 and probably didn't get in till close to 10:15. The line did seem to go quick though and it's always fun people watching in line and talking to others and seeing what they are excited to see. Once inside you enter the main hall and are blown away by all the booths and everything there is to see and buy. First thing we do is go through all the booths and see what they have to offer. Pro tip is to make note of all the things you want then come back and see what you really want. For me at least this saves me a bit of money as I can be an impulse buyer but there is just so much to see and buy that it can become overwhelming. We ended up going to the beer garden for lunch as this is where the food trucks were at. The lines were super long and took about 45 minutes to get our food. I was ok with it as this convention is obviously packed. One thing is I was going to wait to also get a beer, but it seemed like there was only one bartender and the line was huge, so I had to pass. We went to watch a few of the panels. One thing that sucks is there isn't many chairs to sit and most of it is standing room. We got lucky and were able to get seats as two people were leaving. We also pre purchased an autograph and picture op with Tom Kenny the voice of Sponge Bob. The line for the autograph was long and did take some time but was very organized and was cool to able to meet him and get an autograph. The photo line was also long but went much quicker and the picture is just a quick shot and not really a Meet and great. if you want a better opportunity to get a few words in and more interaction I would suggest getting the autograph session. I will also say that for certain photo ops they had a plastic barrier between you and the celebrity. Luckily Tom Kenny didn't but some other people I talked to showed me their pic where there was a barrier. Overall, It was such a fun event but can be very tiring and overwhelming so make sure you bring your comfy shoes, drink water, eat and take small breaks every now and then, this way you will have a great experience and not overwhelm yourself.

L.A. comic Con was actually pretty cool, I should have flirted back with more lovely ladies though, meet people with common interests right? Anyway, my only major gripe is that the employees didn't know where anything was. I wanted to buy some of the new Street Fighter Jada toys figures, but couldn't find them, the place is huge. No paper map, map kiosks, or QR code digital maps either. Freaking lame

Uuugghhh... This year they decided to add metal detectors and security staff to inspect every attendee's bag and purse. I understand the need for security these days in gun loving America, but it needs to be done correctly. What used to be a 15-20 minute wait to get your badge turned out to be a long Disneyland style land that at times took over 2 hours for some people. I think I was in line for 1 hour 45 minutes...ridiculous! Not sure if I'll come back next year because of this... Besides that hot mess, the Con itself was as good as it had been in the past years...lots of vendors and artists, a good mix of panels, and easy access to the main stage. The funnest part is seeing all the excellent costumes.

2 hours to get in??? No bueno. They needed a better system for crowd organization because people were starting to cut and a few fights almost broke out. Tip: have more than ONE entry and mail badges out like SDCC and WonderCon. I heard that Friday was much better than Saturday but they need to plan better for next year. Lines for coffee and food were ridiculous inside but thankfully, the bacon-wrapped hot dog platoon were posted literally everywhere so cheap eats outside were readily available. I ended up spending $7 on a chai tea latte that was 3/4 milk and 1/4th tea from Groundworks. Fail. That aside, the event went uphill after mainly because of the cool cosplay and fun booths. I loved that we were able to see Hellboy in the flesh and that it was relatively easy to navigate through the crowds. The co-habby and I came as GoGo Yubari and Johnny Mo from Crazy 88/Kill Bill and we got so much love that weekend. There were some awesome costumes on display! 5 stars for the cosplay, 3 stars overall for the Con itself. Not sure I'll return unless they improve their check-in process.

L.A Comicon has let me down in the last years. Last one i attended was 2019 because of Covid, And it was not that good. Just recently last month 2022 it was a blast. Took a girl i had known a very long time and we had fun. I didnt really dress up, That will change, Next time i want to dress up. We saw lots of amazing cosplay and acts. The live shows with the celebs were cool. But i was not interested in the autograph stuff. We bought a couple comic books a. nd many other items. So much to buy and look at. It was fun, I enjoyed it. Might come back again later this year.

Originally billed as Stan Lee's Comikaze (oh how I wish they'd kept the name!) Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con is amazing and awesome in all its nerdy geekdom. It takes place annually on Halloween weekend in October at the LA Convention Center over the span of 3 days. Unlike its counter part in San Diego, tickets usually don't sell out and the buying process is so much easier. Parking is a pain! Please don't pay those exorbitant parking fees at surrounding lots and do yourself a favor; take the metro or park 10 minutes away for free or $5. As for the Con itself, it's so much fun. The vendors and artist booths get better and better every year. Bring your wallet because you'll mostly likely find a collectible item or merchandise that you'll want to take home. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. I can't see how this event would be anything less than 5 stars. The cosplayer's are amazing ! My sole complaint would be at how crowded it gets walking in the aisles. It's difficult to see merchandise at times bumping into people left and right, but in the end it's worth it! TIPS - bring your phone fully charged and a battery pack - bring water - save money and time and buy your meals before and after the con - take breaks! - dress light, it gets warm with all the bodies inside - park 10-15 walking minutes away and walk to LACC or take an Uber/Lyft - politely ask cosplayers for photos, most of them will be more than happy to pose for you! Most of all, go with the flow and enjoy it :)

Our third time to LACC (the first time it was known as Stan Lee's Komikaze). Wish I could say third was a charm (that was the second). Even with pre-purchased tickets, the wait to get into the exhibit hall was close to 2 hours. I don't think I've ever been in such disorganized and unsupervised lines (up to 5 switchbacks the length of the Convention Center) in the beating sun (and I've done SDCC many times). Thank goodness for the (delicious) sausage/churros carts outside the building during the excessive wait - unfortunately they often blocked the egress, well, them and the cops standing aimlessly next to them. Once we got through security and into the building (and noticing at least double the number of security checkpoints at the actual entrance of the Center - yes, forgot to mention, pre-purchased tickets holders entered at the back of the Center) the exhibit hall itself is quite interesting. With the Main Stage to the back center of the exhibit hall, a bunch of vehicles at one end, and an unusual (yet significant) spattering of insurance companies, psychic readers, energy drinks, cat adoptions, vegan advocates, food purveyors (that offered no samples - just smells) and so forth, the exhibit hall was just plain odd. Yes, there's your typical Artist Alley, Anime and Cosplay areas, but nothing feels quite right. Nothing feels truly cohesive. Then, when you want to take a coffee break, you discover that there's only one coffee vendor - with one super slow barista. There's an Açaí bowls stall with no line - but really, who wants a super expensive berry bowl? The upside is the lines will probably be shorter next year - SINCE MANY OF THIS YEAR'S SATURDAY ATTENDEES will not want to return - but I'm really not sure it's worth your time anyway (unless you want a Geico quote after having your cards read and buying an overpriced t-shirt and/or action figure).

I had a good time at Los Angeles comic con with my friends for the first time ever. Also, this is my 6th time visiting from the convention center as a veteran cosplayer. It's been 5 years since, I have a chance to meet with the real celebrity in person as my first time. Hopefully, I'll dress up as Spider-Man soon as possible next year. Yes, we get different actors every year as well. Lastly, I'll recommend this to my friends and family.

But Saturday was cool, Clover's grass was green, and the atmosphere was indeed festive. There were several options for free or metered parking in supervised lots within walking distance, making at least our vehicular arrival and departure quick and painless. After leaving the car, we made a beeline for the park's restrooms, where, as it typically happens whenever we step out to a fairground, we spent a considerable chunk of our visit waiting our turns in slow-moving lines. Plenty of music filled our ears while we waited, especially the notes coming from center stage, where a featured group, The Lions, sounded particularly captivating. We quietly joined standing watchers later on, just in time to see The Lions wrap up their soulful and energetic gig. Festival treats were also close at hand, so we couldn't miss tasting Linde's old-fashioned sugar roasted almonds. We followed our noses to her popular table where I impulsively grabbed us a couple of warm paper cones in a sweet twofer deal. Linde jokingly asked if we were unable to share, to which I honestly replied, "yes." It was a fair-tastic time. The usual apparel gifts and arts-and-craftsy things were available for passers-by to browse and purchase, and interactive activities engaged families, kids, and kids-at-heart. It seemed apparent to us after one walk-through that the city government was out to connect with and educate visitors in exchange for cheap swag and fun, with a number of public service kiosks that let you spin wheels and answer questions for prizes. We didn't get around to checking everything out (see Tess M.'s yelp here: http://bit.ly/11hmlqO for some neat things we missed), but all in all, the Festival was pleasant and low-key, which is pretty much Santa Monica in a nutshell.

This used to be a wonderful event and I was so excited to finally be able to attend again, only to be disappointed. THIS WAS A FIRE HAZARD! There's no way that many people in that hangar was safe in any way.

A bit underwhelming. Many vendors ran out of food maybe around 9pm. An entire wing turned into a…read moreghost town of empty counters. Bummed I didn't get to sample everything. Tried great scallop, crab, pasta dishes and a tomato soup I really liked. Chocolate chip cookie was outstanding. Blood orange mule was pretty good by Lobos. Other dishes were so so. Definitely not worth the high price tag even after 30% discount.

I really do miss live shows and getting a chance to get that feeling of happiness when you go to…read moreshows with friends, listen to great live music, and make memories. With the pandemic still very much so at large, we are very limited to these types of experiences, but Insomniac was able to pull this off, while still keeping everyone safe. The only downfall (and quite big IMO), was the wait time to enter the first weekend. We waited over an hour to enter GA, and eventually was asked if we wanted to upgrade to VIP for $50. I wish we were asked this in the beginning, but I wonder if they've been able to fix this problem since then. Also, if anyone has attended this and knows the link to the official playlist on Spotify, please send it my way! I'd love to bookmark this entire playlist to listen in my car.

Tickets are $69.99 during the week, $89.99 Fridays and Saturdays, $79.99 on Sundays. An additional…read more$59.95 to upgrade to VIP (up to 8 people per car) and another $20.00 for the service fee. Yeah, it adds up and it doesn't seem worth it, but if there's 8 of you in the car and split the tab, it isn't too bad. We came through on a Friday night. We opted for the VIP package and bypassed pretty much everyone (that line looked like a thousand miles long, so that alone threw all regrets, doubts and second thoughts out the window!) Bypassing the long line was one thing, but then my passengers' bladders decided to go in sync and in unison all needed a bathroom break BEFORE the drive. The VIP package came in handy once again - they have a separate set of porta-potties for VIP peeps, too! Needless to say, there were no lines there either. So, yeah, off to a good start. I didn't really know what to expect, so I decided not to expect too much. There were a lot of mixed reviews on Yelp (complaints were mostly about the cost) so I kept an open mind. THE VERDICT: Totally WORTH IT. This whole production was well put-together. It was beautifully created with a lot of imagination. The engineering and construction alone were astonishing, how long did it take them to put it all up! And I really liked that they coordinated all the lights' movements with the music coming off the assigned radio station (107.9.) And those souls braving the cold as they entertained us with their dance moves... KUDOS! (I didn't get to see what's in the VIP box but going by how each of my passengers went through it like the Tasmanian Devil, I'm gonna assume whatever was in there was fun!) If this is your thing, here are a few tips: 1) Entry is at Holly and Huntington NOT at the main entrance. If you do end up at the main entrance, they'll reroute you. No worries. 2) You can come through as early as 30 minutes before your scheduled time, but try to be there within that window just for the sake of being considerate. The whole thing is about 45 minutes to an hour, all depending on how slow or fast you go. 3) CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELDS! I meant to, but I completely forgot. But even with the semi-dirty glass, it was still pretty good. 4) Sunroofs are great! I didn't have one (wouldn't have mattered if I did since I was the one behind the wheel) but I was sorta jealous of the peeps who made full use of it. I imagine that's the best way to experience it. 5) You are allowed to open your windows. Just watch out for fog machines... 6) Take your time and let it all sink in. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it, something cool to do social distancing style. It's an event for all ages and a great excuse to get out of the house more especially during these challenging times.

Some sticker shock at the entry ($15), but includes a tote bag I keep in the trunk for Erewon runs for a single bottled water (also $15, so a good deal in comparison). About 100 booths of "shop small" businesses, largely handmade stuff including jewelry, soaps, clothing, cards and gifts, tarot, and food. The booths are run by the artists/sellers themselves which is a great way to connect with these super talented entrepreneurs. Hard to make the rounds without picking up a few items and supporting local artists at the same time, most of whom work out of their apartments. There are some foodie freebie samples and a freebie photo booth too. Meters all around downtown but as of this writing (5/23), self-parking in the building was a flat $8. I ended up with a giant chicken named Bella along with cards, stickers and iron-on patches. Yelpers, you will run into people you know, so the 'no sweatpants' rule applies. See you there.

I spent a couple hours here, purchasing a pair of fun handmade embroidered cat earrings; getting a complimentary can of Liquid Death, spritzer at the bar, and having a photo taken at the Photo Booth. Even though I didn't need it, timing is perfect with the free gift wrapping station. And if I hadn't already completed my Christmas shopping, I would have found something here for everyone on my list. You can purchase tickets online or at the event ($15). This year, parking was conveniently located the underground parking lot as the event for a flat $8/day, which is unheard of in DTLA. Stood in line to check in and get my free tote. Took an elevator to the floor where the event was being held. Somewhat of a super spreader event tho cuz it got really crowded, with rarely anyone wearing a mask.
