After my cleaning, I experienced multiple issues that I had never had before. The treatment caused discomfort and complications rather than improving my oral health. Proper dental hygiene care should leave a patient feeling healthier, not dealing with ongoing problems. For anyone considering care at this location, I strongly advise exercising caution. My professional opinion is to stay away.

Of course! This was not a problem! They want my business! The person that scheduled the appointment took the Offices information and advised that they would contact the office on my behalf to verify the procedure that the child needed and obtain records. I didn't think twice to check in or confirm, shame on me for that. A week prior to the appointment Great Expressions did nothing but call and text me reminders that even when you confirm they continue to spam you about. The morning of they called again to remind me. When the second phone call came in, I picked up to tell them I knew. What I didn't expect was that the staff member was calling me to tell me the visits wasn't covered. She told me she wasn't sure what he needed but it would cost anywhere from $300-$500. If you are to sure what he needs how are you able to quote this and how do you know if it is covered? I told her another staff member was going to obtain the X-rays and notes to schedule the procedure. She claimed I didn't even know what he was being scheduled therefore I can't be upset that insurance is not covering the appointment. When I tried to explain he had a check up within the last two months at the other dentist. Miss Rude Pants went on to tell me that the location isn't the reason the insurance would bill me. It's because he was seen within the last 6 months. I told her I knew that and I wasn't sure what exactly the visit was for because the first person I scheduled with made it clear she would get the records and schedule accordingly. Miss Rude Pants was so smug and condescending. Apparently they scheduled him for a cleaning. This was never the conversation on 4/3. He needed to meet a local to us Dentist as he needed work done. The person I spoke to today was rude and nasty. I called the original provider and they had no problems supplying me with the records and advised Great Expressions never reached out. I called back GE and got Miss Rude Pants who wouldn't let me speak, talk loudly over me and put me on hold and never came back. The Office Manager later called me to remedy. She was sincere and apologetic. She offered empathy to the mistake and owned that I should have never been told what I was told and that the mistake started on April 3 in the original scheduling. The manager was able to get me this afternoon but not for the work the child needs despite being provided the exam notes and X-rays. I needed a new consultation for them to determine that that was what the child needs and then to schedule again after the initial. This consultation to be billed to me because the insurance won't accept another check up for one prior to 6 months per the manager. Essentially, even with the information- the result was the same. Despite what you asked us, we will schedule how we feel and if you get hit with charges because he was seen within 6 months - you have to pay out of pocket. I called around and found other practices wiling to accept the last providers notes and X-rays and schedule based off the needs of the child. When I called back GE, by fate I got Miss Rude Pants again, who advised I would now be billed for cancelling the newest appointment as it was the same day. Thankfully she spoke to the office manager who was willing to waive the fee. I was told I was lucky as that isn't their policy. Thanks, Rudy. Horrible service, horrible guest relations and horrible experience. The office does not care about the patient needs. I would not recommend or use them.

This is just an update of my review for Monroe Dentist Office. So I grew up in Monroe, and as a kid…read moreI went to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning, with Tara, who was pleasant, and knew how to take care of kids. Even got a cavity filled with Dr. Crohn with proper pain relief of the numbing cream. So at least 4 stars with that. Years later, I got a cavity filled by Dr. Allison Douglas. For pain relief, she only offered the novacaine shot, in which i refused. But it wasn't until I was crying that she stopped and offered the numbing cream. After she applied the numbing cream it was better. However after the appointment, I went home- tooth that got filled hurt for like a week. Also I wasn't given any information on side effects or directions. to boot I also had steak for dinner, and I normally love steak but the tooth hurt and made it hard to eat for a few days. Luckily it subsided after a week. Note 3 stars for that experience Fast forward a few years after that, It was my annual cleaning, Tara asked me about my wisdom teeth, and forgetting, I told her the wrong information, which were that my bottom ones were intact. How easy it is for a doctor to check records, especially if they don't remember or anything? Part of that appointment was xrays, which were taken. Now during the xray process, Tara was understanding on how the positions can be not natural, and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. Which helps. Even while doing the cleaning, she stopped for a second if I was a little sensitive or if my gums bled. Now, when the dentist Alison Douglas came in to check the xrays, she told me, oh you may need more fillings. Now I didn't say anything at that time, but If my last filling with her was a bad experience, and as long as I don't have teeth pain myself- I don't really want any dentist work done. Alison also failed to explain to me where on the xray, she sees I have cavities. She kept saying "Oh you know, You know" Obviously If I Am asking then No, I don't know. I am also a firm believer in that healthcare is both the doctor and the patient agreeing to a treatment plan that works for the patient. After that, It was the last straw and I wouldn't recommend this office at all. Maybe for the other dentist Dr. Crohn and My Hygentist Tara. But other than that- No because some need pain relief. I also no longer live in the area. Hope this office realizes that bad experiences can cause Trauma, and sometimes that can be no good for health in the long run, and I say that because I haven't been to the dentist since, and this was more than a few years ago now.

Cleaning is always comforting and she stopped if i was bleeding or feeling senstive. Gotta admit that removing tartar has been a little uncomfortable to me because it is like scraping the tooth, and I brush my teeth twice a day with no issues. But the way tara does it is very gentle. I have 3 stars because last visit, which was years ago, but the other dentist alison i believe filled my cavity without novacaine, and it wasn't until i was crying that she applied the numbing cream on my tooth, which i had to suggest. Didn't explain any side effects either, as for a week, i couldn't chew that much and my tooth that got filled hurt. Didn't even tell me to take advil or offer medicine for pain relief. After i got the cavity filled, at my last appointment, i did xrays, and they found a spot where they may have to fill a cavity, but it was a small one. They didn't even show me that xray, or ask if my tooth bothers me. For me, If a tooth bothers me then i am more likely to get it filled, not just because "I have to.." Consider what the patient wants as well as what may be needed on the doctor's end. I don't recommend coming here because of the dentists. The hygentists are fine, but the dentists seem to have some kind of agenda and not care what the patient wants. More so because of my truama, i may not ever go to a dentist again. If i find getting a cavity filled hurts, i need to be sedated or at least with a strong numbing agent. Also wrote a book about my truama here: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/doctor-experiences-jacqueline-lisella/1144576158?ean=9798855699579

First let me start by saying, what you see on the website is exactly what it is when you go to this…read more dental office if not better. It feels like a family with a very warm, welcoming, clean and professional atmosphere. Dr. J is wonderful and all her staff is caring, friendly and concerned that everything is satisfactory. Personally, I have been putting off getting extensive dental treatment for awhile. Mostly because I could not find the right dentist. By that I mean, one that didn't look at the price tag of my teeth like a gold mind or basically made me feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. Dr. J. doesn't look at your teeth like she's going to use the money to buy a new house. It's more important to her that the patient is happy and takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. All the work was done seamlessly and painlessly. Going to the dentist is not something I love, but this great office certainly makes the dental experience a lot easier and one that I am most defiantly glad to have found.
