I decided to give Los Alazanes Mexican Food a try today, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I bit into the food, I could tell something wasn't right. The chicken had both the smell and taste of fish, which makes me think they don't bother to change out their grease. Absolutely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the place has a strict "no refunds whatsoever" policy, which tells me they already know customers won't be happy. When I walked in, the restaurant was practically empty -- now I understand why. I ordered carne asada fries, and they were a complete disappointment. No beans (which are supposed to come with it), the fries tasted old and hard, and the carne asada itself was fatty and chewy. For a meal that cost me $73, I left feeling completely ripped off. As a 40-year-old woman who has eaten at plenty of Mexican restaurants over the years, I can confidently say this place is not worth the money, the time, or the disappointment. Every time I've came to this restaurant they always give great service. I love that they're open until 2 AM. The workers are always very respectful and kind. I've never had an issue with their service. The food is always amazing and they're always willing to guarantee your satisfaction. If you do not like something about the food they served. I've done phone orders. I've dined in and I've also did takeout and every time the food is up to par. The food is always fresh. And their new habanero sauce is so good. There's salsa are made from hand. My personal favorites are the avocado salsa, and the habanero. Add a good amount of heat to your food. The prices are very good, especially for the size of the portions that you get. That burrito weighs over a pound easily. And the side fries are always loaded up to the top. I've always enjoyed the burritos at Los Alazanes, and they've never let me down. This location is usually pretty quiet, which makes for a nice atmosphere. However, on a recent visit, I decided to try the shrimp cocktail due to the heat, and I was extremely disappointed. The cocktail tasted off--almost raunchy. When the server came by and asked how it was, we let him know it wasn't good, but he didn't offer to replace it or remove it from the table. It just sat there untouched. I really should've read the reviews and that's on me so now I'm trying to help out the next guy. There were four of us and it was our first chance to eat since getting caught in the blizzard. We had very few options and when we realized this spot was open, the choice kind of made itself. We had our orders taken right away and that was the only thing that happened quickly. We beat a small rush of people by about ten minutes, and it still took over 40 minutes to get our food, while several customers that came after us were served. One of the employees took our chips to the table next to us, and they had just sat down, and that party took the chips, because she didn't bother to check what table the order was for. I tried to flag her down and tell her, and though she was only about 7 feet from me, I must've been wearing my invisibility cloak. Because when my burrito came out, she took it to their table too, and even though she made eye contact with me, and I told her that was my order, and even held up my hand when I heard her state my order to the table, she repeatedly offered them my party's food, and they were going to take that too! My husband finally got her attention and she dropped the food and ran. One of us got up for extra sauce. What a champion. Because it took forever. No one liked any of it. The beef was fishy, breakfast burrito was unseasoned and dry. One of the orders was wrong but who had time to wait for the replacement?! Make the boring tostada work. The Burrito to the left... is supposed to be the Super Burrito.. There is no difference on the size. The only thing they did is put less meat. Looked for a dine in place instead of burgers and came in here, huge selection of items on the board. Chile Relleno plate and chimichanga with shredded beef. This place F***s, good stuff on the Chile and chimi. Sauce wasn't to strong and coated my food well. The green salsa was good and the guac also. Pretty empty on a Saturday. We are locals and stopped by this evening for a burrito, we ordered it with asada and I enjoyed it. For dessert we got cheesecake and it was bomb/fire. My parents also enjoy the burgers from this place. This is also a restaurant that you can drive too after leaving Mount High during any season. They serve cold beer and micheladas, that's a plus. We love their shredded beef tacos, super nachos and tostadas. Those are some of our favorites. Their salsa is flavorful and have a few selections for different spice levels. I was not impressed with Los Alazanes. I came out to Wrightwood to visit my dad for the weekend and he suggested that we get lunch and the new Mexican restaurant that recently opened. Since it was Saturday he ordered the menudo and he was not impressed. He had his option of corn or flour tortillas and he opted for the corn. When the menudo came out it was quite greasy and it was so unappetizing my dad didn't even finish half of it. I had the cheese enchilada and the chicken tostada. I wasn't impressed about those two items either. The cheese tasted cheap and artificial in the enchilada. The tostada was unmemorable as well. What was good was the tostada. It had a nice crunch and thickness to it. My husband had the beef tacos and those were probably the best thing any of us had ordered. You have to ask if you want chips and salsa. As I looked at the food on my plate, I realuzed it was not appealing.
