I haven't experienced genuine customer service and care like this in years and I'm not even a customer. At first I thought I had a leak in my unit when it was simple condensation buildup, a huge relief! I was connected to Top Comfort through my home warranty app, which has an associated copay. DO NOT HIRE. I've been waiting to post this review to see if Evert would stand by his workmanship…read moreand return to complete the job of installing and sealing our HVAC system; unfortunately, he has not done so and has been unresponsive and unprofessional in his communications. I should have known that Evert was not a consummate professional when he said he couldn't wait for the winter for everyone's HVACs to start breaking. Little did I know that my brand new one (installed in April 2017) would be among those. After Evert installed our new system in April of 2017, it immediately rained, washing the sealant off of the system and leaving it vulnerable to rust, etc. He promised to return and fix the issue but delayed response until we filed a FairClaims dispute with Thumbtack. After many unreturned phone calls and text messages, my wife reached out to Evert in hopes that perhaps he would respond to her instead. He did. Almost immediately. When he discovered what the request was, he told my wife that he was glad he was dealing with me and not her, indicating she was a nag (using a less professional word). He then promised to come that weekend... and the next. When he didn't and I followed up with him, he responded with one word (a four letter one starting with F that is not appropriate to write here) and still did not arrive. In the interim, a neighbor who was doing roof work alerted us to a lot of debris that had appeared on the roof after the installation. When we went up there to check, there was a ton of trash (empty buckets, used materials, and lots of pieces of the old HVAC system which Evert had said he would remove as part of his installation, etc.) as well as multiple empty six packs of Corona beer. Given these items were not on the roof before the work, and we had no other vendors on our roof in the interim, it is safe to assume that Evert and his guys were DRINKING ALCOHOL ON THE JOB. With the recent cold front, we just switched on our heater and, surprise surprise, IT IS NOT HEATING and instead just circulating cold air. We attempted to have Evert repair the problem but he did not respond to our communication (phone calls, email and text). We hired another vendor and they determined that Evert did not connect the Auxiliary Heat wiring to the thermostat, a simple but costly fix that a qualified and licesnsed HVAC technician should not have overlooked. This external technician also indicated Evert installed a PVC support for the rooftop ductwork on top of non-pressure treated wood, and the ductwork was at risk of collapsing as the wood support starts to rot. We have asked for Evert's District of Columbia HVAC license information several times and he has not provided this information. Finally Evert installed what he refers to as insulation on the rooftop ductwork but this only lasted a few months before falling off of the ductwork. As it comes off you can see that Evert tried using duct tape to attach it to the ductwork, rather than using a normal sealant approved for HVAC use. Because the sealant is falling off the ducts, this causes the ducts to overheat (or get too cold in the winter) and the HVAC unit has to work extra hard to cool/heat the home and risks wearing out sooner than the 10 year manufacturer warranty. Once again we must hire another vendor to replace the sealant and ductwork with the correct material. In summary, we would not want Evert on our roof again given his unprofessional behavior and his clear lack of expertise and demonstrated lack of responsiveness, or support for his suggested labor warranty. Allow him access to your property and equipment at your own risk. See attached photos documenting Evert's work on my HVAC system.

I was never told by letter or email, and that was never ever shared with me. In case you didn't know what a lien was: "A legal right to possess another's property until a debt is repaid or an obligation is met." So in other words, the bank thought that someone co-owned my property. Now why would this be required for such a small loan that is in good standing (paying on-time monthly)? I had a larger loan with another company for my windows/doors yet they DID NOT feel the need to place a lien on my property.
