Over…read morethese years, 2 of these watches experienced problems I had initially chalked up to wear and tear. Watches do not last forever, necessarily. I had a Fossil watch I've owned for probably 3 years. in 2011, I took it in because I guessed the battery had died. I was told when they changed the battery, that it did not work anymore. No further explanation could be given. I had a Diesel watch I owned for probably 5 years. In 2009, I took it in for the same reason. This watch takes multiple batteries for different reasons. When the one for the time went out, I asked them to replace the one for the date also -- it had stopped working a few months prior. I was told that the date function no longer worked. I moved away from that area and took these 2 watches to a local jeweler this afternoon, just to see what could be done. I like the watches and really can't afford to buy new ones. He opened the watches in front of me and showed me what these people did. On the Fossil, the bottom battery connector was completely missing out of the watch and the gasket on the back cover was gone. I may as well throw the thing out. It hasn't worked since last year and there's no way anyone there is going to acknowledge they ruined it, much less worked on it months ago. I don't like that they KNEW why the watch didn't work and it was most likely their own fault because they possibly carelessly removed the old battery and ripped the connector out with it. On the Diesel, the employee somehow managed to stick a battery on top of the top battery connector... meaning, it wasn't even attached to the watch. It needed to be placed between the two connectors and here, clearly, they forced it to sit on top of the fitting. The readout actually works and the battery sat awkwardly in the wrong position for THREE other battery changes. Nobody noticed the error all that time. Unfortunately, it hadn't worked since 2009 and I had to ask the jeweler to program it since I hadn't the slightest idea anymore. I'll be contacting the store manager or owner on this problem. I'm really upset about their neglience and lack of education to do something they should be able to do routinely. Again, I don't expect anything out of it because I have no proof because when the watch didn't work, I didn't pay -- therefore didn't receive a receipt. But, he or she should be aware. So should you.

When I first arrived, the guy with the beard and tattoos asked me to leave the watch behind. He said he needed to look up the instructions. That should've been the first warning, but it was before closing, and I had a meeting. After a week, I had not received any updates. So I called the guy, and I could tell that he hadn't even looked at the watch because he mumbled something and said he'd call back. I got a message on my phone half an hour later; it was him telling me that the watch did not register time. Basically that it was dead. And that they don't replace movements for that watch, which was a G-Shock. When I went to pick up the watch, the guy didn't even know where it was. The floor is littered with boxes filled with plastic bags containing other watches. There doesn't seem to be any kind of storage structure because it took two people about 5 to 10 minutes to finally find the watch. And when I took it out of the bag the thing fell apart and in my hands. The screws weren't even fastened on correctly. So I basically took in a watch with a low battery, still displaying time, and left with a broken paperweight. The guy blamed it on the watch's age, or what not. But this was the first time I had the battery replaced, after five years of flawless functionality. Not anymore. This place receives good reviews, which is why I brought it here in the first place, but I won't return again. The one star is because they didn't charge me for the ordeal.

Four months later,January 20, 2012 I still hear Theresa say "the parts are coming in today" When I told her no, I want my clock back, you have been telling me for 4 months the parts are coming in. She responded ok you can pick it up as it is, it is all apart in pieces. The image of my trying to put the clock back together was frightening. I told her no, I want it back in the condition I gave it to you. She said you can pick it up this afternoon. Well I got my clock back IN PIECES plus monetary compensation for the mess. Satisfied that I received some compensation, but not satisfied that I was deceived over 4months and that the clock which had been in my family for over 40 years is now a bag of parts. Do not recommend this place at all!
