I had been hearing about Lymphatic Massages for some time now. I was very curious because of all the health benefits, so I started to do a bit of research and I became intrigued to try this for myself. Lori was very personable and asked a few questions to gauge what I was looking to achieve, and she also suggested dry brushing and what I could achieve with dry brushing and the benefits. (I immediately went out and bought a dry brush.) The massage was great! I didn't know what to expect at first - and Lori walked me through the process and what she was feeling. She picked up that I'm tight in my shoulders and and my stomach - I was amazed! She focused on my "pain points" - but didn't neglect the rest of my body. (Take note - Lymphatic Massages are soft touch and not a deep tissue, hard massage.) When I walked out of Lori's office, I felt great and oddly, a bit lighter. My friend and I went to lunch and I was far less bloated after our meal. I was amazed! It's now about 3 days after my massage, and I still feel great and I've just made another appointment for next month - and I hope to make this a part of my regular routine. read more

I took a random Monday off from work to take a break, and that day I decided that a massage would be necessary. I decided to check out the Groupon Now deals to see if there were any local spas offering a deal. There was one for Lori Sharp in Birmingham, and although I never heard of it and there was no such place on yelp, I decided to give it a chance. I paid $40 for a one hour massage and then called the place to book the appointment. I was totally confused when the receptionist picked up the phone and said, "New Life Allergy Treatment Center." I asked if this is where I book an appointment with Lori Sharp, and I was told that it was. I easily booked an appointment for an hour and a half later. Upon arrival, I was a little skeptical because the place looked like a doctors office, which doesn't surprise you since it's an allergy treatment center. I was happily greeted by a woman at the front desk who had me fill out the usual spa paperwork. Once I was done, Lori came out and introduced herself and took me back to her room. The room is set up like any other spa room and looks totally different than what you would expect from the rest of the office. The bed was heated and felt so good, I could have fell asleep and laid there all day! Lori came in and talked a little about her massage techniques and she started her routine. I absolutely hate when a masseuse talks to me; I'm there to relax, not talk about what I like to do for fun. But Lori had the perfect amount of talking throughout the massage. In the beginning she asked what kind of pressure I like and told me not to be afraid to tell her if it is too hard. She then didn't talk until she found a few knots in my back. She told me that she would be applying more pressure and if it gets too hard to let her know. However, I didn't care what she was doing as long as it got the knots out! I was relaxed the entire time and found her techniques to be very relaxing. I didn't want the massage to end and at one point I didn't think that it would. Either I was totally relaxed and lost track of time or she went longer than the hour that I booked. Either way, I was definitely grateful for that! I've been to those places who say that you have an hour massage, and they sometimes end early or it's almost like they have a timer that goes off exactly at an hour. It was by far the best massage I have had in a while. I liked Lori so much that I asked her if she ever travels to offices to do chair massages. We've been looking for a masseuse to do this at our office every few weeks, and I thought Lori would be great for it. She gave me her card and a pamphlet with her information and told me that she would be interested and to contact her if we ever want to set it up. As I walked to my car, I realized that I felt great. I was totally refreshed and happy. I got into my car and looked at the pamphlet that Lori had given me. Inside was a list of her services and rates, and that was when my day got even better. Her massages are regularly $60 for an hour! I couldn't believe it. I'm used to the half-assed massage that you end up paying $75 for before tip. I am super excited that Lori is not only inexpensive but still gave such a good massage. I will definitely be a returning customer! My only complaint is that her hours are a little hard for a working person. She is at the allergy treatment center on Mondays and Wednesdays 10 AM with the last appointment at 7 PM. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for a weekend appointment or a day with the girls. But I can definitely tell you that you will get a really great massage for a lot cheaper than other spas in the area. read more

Lori did a thorough inquiry of any health issues and history and made sure she knew what I was looking for out of the massage. Lori is awesome! She is very caring and knowledgeable. I have major scoliosis (spinal curvature) and she has greatly improved my life because now I suffer from far less pain. I had tried several different therapists before Lori, and none of them were even close in providing the same level of relief. Lori listens very carefully to your needs and uses different techniques to aid in the best massage for my needs. I also purchase an add-on service called the Bio-Mat. For those who have very tight muscle issues, it may work for you too. At first I was skeptical that it would be no different than a heated table, but I was wrong.
