I had high hopes, but I'm sorry, I was pretty disappointed. Placed an order online today for lunch pick up. Arrived 5 minutes later than the estimated pick up time and was told it wasn't ready yet. The inside of the place is a little of a cleaned up improvement from when it was Farina's, but similar layout. The small pizza was basic/decent and hence the 2 stars. The chicken tenders were not tenders, they were dry sliced up chicken cutlets. The chicken parm sub....real bad. It gets it's own paragraph. The breaded coating fell off of the chicken before even taking a bite. The chicken itself was rubbery, maybe because it was frozen? Or did it need to cook longer? About 90% of the mozzarella cheese was stuck on the wrapper. The sauce left something to be desired. An inch of two of the sandwich on one end didn't even have any filling in it. Pizza tonite for a birthday. Disappointed as we found the pizza flavorless and dry. White broccoli asked for garlic... zero flavor as was the cheese pizza. I guess we will stick with Bobby's. read more

We were heading to Clinton and noticed This new to our area was open. We stopped in they closed at 9 and it was 8:40 no problem at all could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The place has only been open for a month so still quiet the place is so nice and bright very fresh. There were 2 girls at the counter clearly sisters as well as the owner/ managers daughters. Jen Daniella / Dani and Dad Leo. Gorgeous girls so eager to share the venture their on. Very busy family but could not be more ready to jump in wherever needed. The food was fabulous the pizza was thin crusted and cooked to perfection. Leo the dad came out and introduced himself and also checked that we were happy. We have been to the one in west haven but we live in Guilford and could not be happier to welcome them to our area!! read more

Do Not Order grinders from here.... I ordered a ham and cheese extra tomato, light lettuce, extra Mayo. I received a grinder with 2 slices of ham, chunks of tomato, 1 piece of lettuce and no extra Mayo. Worst ever ( it's pretty hard to mess up a ham and cheese). All you tasted was bread. Ordered a chicken cutlet grinder with bacon, light lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers and extra American cheese.. Chunks of onion, 1 chunk of tomato, 1 banana pepper and 1 piece of lettuce. Worst ever again. We also ordered a small cheese pizza. Told it would take 25 minutes after 17 minutes we got a half cold pizza. Very dissatisfied with the order considering we only live 6 minutes away. Absolutely won't go back. I will spend my hard earned money somewhere else considering I don't get to order out Very often. BTW you probably should answer your phone a little better then just Guilford. read more

We were so excited that Lorenzo's now has location on the shoreline north of New Haven. Food was great (as always) as was the service. It's not always that a restaurant opens an additional location and keep the same quality a d flavors, but this place definitely has. The chef came out to speak to us and his love of Italian food and culture was clear. Don't pass up the opportunity to stop by and have a wonderful Italian feast! read more

Lorenzo's opened a restaurant in the former space occupied by Farina's. It is run by the same party who run Lorenzo's in West Haven. Four of us decided to have dinner here on a Saturday night. Lorenzo's does a heavy takeout business, but they have a small but cozy cafe-style dining room. Four of us were seated upon entry. Lorenzo's serves pizza as their main food, but they also have entrees that many local Italian restaurants have. My wife and I decided to split a "large house salad" and order a small red sauce pizza with sausage, peppers, eggplant, onion, and Mozzarella cheese. Our friends ordered soup, a side of meatballs, an alfredo dish, and baked ziti. In general, food was very good. The large house salad lived up to its name, a huge portion, featuring lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant, and cucumbers. It was more than enough to split. Dressing was served on the side. The small pizza had crispy crust. It had lots of content, and the ingredients were quality. It tasted really good, overall, though the onions appeared to be a cooked-up garnish. Baked ziti was a huge portion. The service was friendly and yet very professional. Requests for clean plates were honored, for the many courses. We liked that a delicious tapenade was brought out with the fresh and crusty bread. We also liked our cheesecake dessert, which we split. Our friends had recent birthdays, so the staff sent them a dessert of "flan" which had a lit candle. Be aware that they do not have a license to serve liquor, but they will do setups. We had a lovely time here at Lorenzo's 2. Prices were very reasonable. We are very tempted to return for more. read more

Twice in 1 week I tried to get a pizza. The first time, I arrived at 11:57 -- an hour after the restaurant's opening hours. I placed my order and paid. THEN I was told the oven we "cold" (no explanation as to why) and it would be at least 30 minutes. I canceled and left. Then at 5 pm on a Wednesday, I tried again - 2 people dining and 1 waiting for an order. AGAIN, after placing order - but before paying, I was told it would be 30 minutes. I did question the wait and I was told it took time to cook a pizza. I left. Got a pizza in 18 minutes at another place. Horrible service read more

Great pizza and food for the affordable price. When I call, I always pick up the phone. Take the order some other places I can't get that level of service. It's not a big deal to order online, but it's always nice to talk to a person just in case we want to include or exclude something out from your pizza. And the interior restaurant is like a small family field. I like the vibe thank you for establishing location in Guilford Connecticut away from the busy downtown. read more

A slight improvement over the former pizza place at this location. If you like a thin crust, this might be the place for you.... But thin can mean dry... mine was overdone so I can't say it was good. Not much of an improvement to the place... looks like they just rolled in some equipment. They have dough balls proofing out front next to the soda. The worst pizza I think I've ever eaten anywhere. I ordered the Sicilian pizza which was nothing but a piece of bread with some cheese and sauce, slapped on top of it flavorless. employee behind the register, either new and/or clueless. The chef seemed like a nice guy, but does not know anything about pizza the mini salad I got to go was iceberg lettuce with a cucumber and some carrot shavings. I don't see this business staying around for long with this level of food. I'm specifically speaking about the Guildford location. Last night we went to Lorenzo's II in Guilford It was amazing no different from the one In West Haven Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. One of the partners came out to chat and asked if it was our first time. We said yes and he welcomed us, with a big smile definitely has taken pride in what he has here at this location. He is the pizza maker, they have a chef for the dinner entrees. It was so nice to see the daughter as our waitress and her mom helping busing the tables. The line for take out was non stop. So glad to see it has been welcomed by the community. Sorry no pictures ....believe it our not!!! We had New York style calamari, Chicken Marsala ,Chicken Parmigiana, Pasta with Vodka sauce carbonara.Came as a chicken dish but she didnt want chicken.....perfect as it was. Also we had a Pepperoni pizza that was so amazing one of the best I've had (Parker approved) . If you havent tried it yet give it a try. Awesome in my book !!! read more
